I am a serious Harry Potter fan who, according to one friend, "needs rehab." I like canon-compliant stories and pairings, especially Romione, which is probably evident from my stories.

You will notice I don't use British spellings. I strive to accurately portray British culture in my fics and have my characters (and JK's) behaving in culturally appropriate ways. But spelling and punctuation are tools of the writer, and I'm an American writer. I would feel incredibly pretentious using British spellings.

This was a truly entertaining diversion tonight. I can't believe I stayed up this late reading it... I especially loved chapter four, with Ron's "potions junk" rambling. Really great read.

A Fairy Tale by Fairy-Light by Mudblood428

I've never cared enough to register and leave a review before. This is probably my favorite Ron/Hermione piece around. Really nice job... totally believable and in character.

Senses by Gryffinpuff

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Sense: a word of so many meanings. This is a story about senses. The common sense notion of self preservation that is lost when friends are in need, the senses of the body that can be damaged so easily, and the intuitive senses of the heart that tell you when things have changed. R/Hr focused with a little bit of H/G, not a lot of fluff, with rotating views between the characters on a truly horrific day.

Oh. My. Word. This is unquestioningly the best fanfic I have ever read. I have accomplished nothing for hours now because I simply couldn't stop until I knew how it all ended (though I confess skipping to the epilogue a few chapters back to make sure Hermione would pull through). JI am a die-hard R/Hr shipper too, but only enjoy fanfics where they are truly in character... you have written them both wonderfully, as well as everyone else. Great job on this. You are a wonderful writer and I hope there is more from you around here. Thanks. somewhere.

No Turning Back by aliweasley

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: After the last battle, can the survivors deal with the pain of losing their most beloved friend?

Not fully a romance, but with just enough fluff thrown in it can qualify. It is definetly a bittersweet story with moslty Ron/Hermione but with a teensy bit of Harry/Ginny. Bring a tissue! One-shot. Fully revised, finally! R&R

Years after the great Harry Potter defeated Voldemort, Death Eaters have risen to power and taken over Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, and even the Ministry of Magic. Their marriages announced invalid, their children in danger and their lives hanging by a thread, the heroes of the war with Voldemort must once again take a stand against evil.

H/G and R/Hr

(pre-Deathly Hallows)

*Completed*

*Quote from The Epilogue*

Suddenly Harry was kissing her as if he couldn’t resist the temptation. There was a kind of frenzy to the kiss at first, a kind of desperate need, but it melted into something soft and sweet and gentle, a promise of a future when kisses would never be limited. When they broke apart he rested his forehead on hers, sprinkling a few affectionate butterfly kisses across her face. “I love you,” he murmured.

Thank-you that Ron is not dead. I think it would have been too much for me! Enjoying this...

Well. That was just wonderful. Really amazing. I actually called several other fics my all-time-favorite because it was up to that point... but this takes the cake.

I love how you redeemed Petunia completely, and yet believably. Nice work using Ginny's attitude toward her as a measure of how that was happening, and when it was complete.

I have already reread several of the Ron/Hermione moments because I'm a complete junkie, but really, all of the characters seemed perfectly in character to me. I was so sad that Bill really was dead, but I suppose it had to be... not everyone could survive such a war.

I love how you wrote Hermione, especially. She is a favorite character of mine, but I think she is hard to write, especially when writers (including myself) try to imagine her as a mom. SHe's always kind of ridiculous with schedules and anal about it all, or this raging career woman... I think your description is just right... dedicated to her career, but completely undone (in a good way) by motherhood...

"Becoming the mother to one child had made Hermione the mother to everyone; while at the office she was still the woman who adamantly fought for S.P.E.W., around home she had taken on a rather maternal role towards the world, most especially when it came to Harry and Ron. Neither of them seemed to mind very much, and Ginny knew that even if it hadn't been in a maternal manner, Hermione had been taking care of Harry and Ron for a very long time."

I just loved that bit. Right into my favorites this goes... thanks for the great read!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it! I had a lot of fun slowly redeeming Petunia, but I was definitely afraid it wouldn't be realistic. It's good to know you think it was! And I'm so glad you liked how I wrote Hermione -- I agree that she's a hard character to write, but I love her :)

Okay, I am sitting here sobbing, Gina... SOBBING in front of my confused children.

Seriously, my friend, you are so good... do you know that? What a plot! And I am amazed anew at your command over an action scene... it never got confusing, not even with so many characters involved and so many spells flying. I don't know how you do it.

I knew it wouldn't end happily, but I thought you were going to kill of Ginny instead of Ron and/or Hermione. I would have preferred that, to be honest, but this was a much better story for the way you wrote it. I adore Harry. I was so, so happy that Ron was alive (you know me) but truly, losing Harry was just as heartrending. I'm glad you let them know what he had done for them. And I just sobbed when Ron felt Harry's real arms around him after hearing the truth, that it had mostly been because of him. One question: Ron really was dead in the first scenario, right? Two times Harry said, "I thought you were dead." And I was worried that he actually wasn't, and it was all for nothing, Harry going back. But Ron really was dead, right?

I am so glad I got to trolling your author page the other night. That J/L was a sweet read, but when I saw that you claimed this as a story you were especially proud of, I had to bookmark it. And reading it was worth the late night I am now going to have because I was supposed to be writing my brawl drabble right now.. .lol. Hehe. I bow to your mad skillz my friend. Well done.

~ Lori

Author's Response: Lori! SQUUUUEEEEE! It is always such a pleasure to get a review from you, but to get such an amazing review for such an old story just totally made my day. Thank you!! I'm sorry you are crying in front of your kids, though, lol. I think this is one of the rare stories I actually got my DH to read and he said he was a bit sniffly as well, hee hee. Yes, this is one I'm still proud of. I should probably go back and wrangle some punctuation, since I started this pretty early in my 'career', but I'm sure I won't, lol. I remember working my brain into knots trying to keep the action and time travel straight so if I ever bang on about time travel, this is why (PoA was a big inspiration, could you tell?). I really thought it might turn out badly for Harry in DH and sometimes I still think about my version and think it turned out okay in comparison, lol. That scene with Ron gets me every time too, though. *sigh* Lori, thank you so, so much for coming to read this, especially since we know what really happened and this story is almost irrelevant! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. *hugs* ~Gina :)

Never Alone by ckwright51

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •

This story was completely written before the release of DH or the Order of the Phoenix movie. Any similarities are entirely coincidental.

Only six more chapters to go, but my eyes will just stay open another moment. I shall finish tomorrow. I like how you write... "as if noon had sprung from midnight" is a good example of what I mean... just a nice, original style.

I think this was just wonderful. I have never stuck with a story this long, but I am just so glad I did. The characters were so wonderfully in character at every moment. I particularly loved that Ron and Hermione are not a bungling mess of a couple as they are in so many fics, and the lovely friendship you developed between Neville and Luna.

Most of all, these last two chapters were just a perfect ending. The bit with the chocolate frog cards was terrific, so satisfying a way to wrap up everything... love the bit about Ron winning best smile. HA! Really a delightful read, and I will be adding it to my favorites, as well as searching for more of your work. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks so much, I had a great time writing it, and still planning a sequal with Vincent but haven't had time. As for Ron and Hermione, I actually see them a lot like my wife and myself so they sort of developed their relationship the way I we did. Glad you stuck with it to the end. Take Care

*Swoon*

Oh, Gina, this has me absolutely dazed. :) You see, there is this OTHER story with James and Lily, and it seems they will NEVER get their act together and realize how much they adore one another... and this was just the resolution I needed until another chapter of that one comes along... haha.

Siriusly, your James is as great as ever. I especially liked how he tried to keep from participating in the verbal sparring at first, and really loved the line about "entertaining you with my exceptional wit and talent." So clever. Loved the end, and how they came together rather easily (well, for them, anyway) this time. "I already like you."

You are the James/Lily queen, my friend. Loved this!

Author's Response: Good heavens, Lori - I wrote this ages ago, how did you find it?? Thank you so much for the amazing review. This was my first James/Lily story, you know. 'Twas fun. Who knew back then it would spiral into an obsession? ;) What is this other story you speak of? Sounds bloody awful. I'd wonder about that author for sure. Hee hee. Thanks again dear! ~Gina :)

Killer Instincts by Ginny Weasley Potter

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: London: Four murders have taken place under bizarre circumstances, for what seems to be an equally bizarre reason.

Harry, a happily wedded man with a wonderful wife and a cute daughter, is an Auror at the Ministry of Magic and is now given a new case to solve with Ron and four other Aurors. Incidentally, the four Aurors include Ginny, Harry’s ‘schoolboy crush’; and it turns out to be much more than a crush when Harry sees her again. What’s more is that Harry is working upon a case that seems to connect to him directly. And once again, it opens up old fears: fears of losing loved ones.

Ron, on the other hand, seems to be tired of Hermione. Tempers are running high and fights are breaking out more often than usual. Are they really falling apart? Or can they sort this out before it is too late?

Then there is the case itself. Who is trustworthy, and who is not? Who is deadly enough to murder four people in cold blood?

Indulge into the gut-wrenching action, combined with warm romance and tingling suspense; while I tell you a story of love, ambition and obsession… a story of what those killer instincts can do. EDIT: MAJOR revamping going on, with regard to plot, characterisation, and general style of writing. I would urge you not to read this until I've removed this notice because I wasn't very good six years ago, and this is as bad as I was. *Places traffic cones*

Complete Faith in You by lucilla_pauie

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: During the Battle of Hogwarts, almost all in the side of the Light fought for love.

And in the middle of the scurry and flurry and before the outright fury of the confrontation, Harry’s two best friends come upon their own piece of the revered word and its many-fold but meekest meaning.

Don’t let my artsy summary fool you. This is my one true pairing, pure and simple, and the events that just piled on top of each other leaving Hermione with no other inclination than to finally fling herself to Ron for that Kiss.
