I currently live in the great state of South Dakota. Why do I live in a place with such nasty winters, I don't know. Since most of my family lives far away in more exotic places than I do, my life revolves around my four dogs, Sampson, Raphael, Seamus, and Mayhem. They are a min-pin, a toy poodle, a teacup Malti-Poo, and a Great Dane, respectively.

I've always had a fascination with the mental illness aspect that characterizes Bellatrix Black Lestrange. My first story is her story. On one site I was sorted into Ravenclaw but I think the hat made a mistake. Most days I feel like a Slytherin!

Dance is the Hidden Language of the Soul by Soap

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Set Post-Hogwart's, Voldemort has been defeated and the Wizarding world has returned to normal - well, as normal as Wizarding worlds could be. Hermione has a job at Gringott's, the Wizarding bank, but what will happen when an old enemy turns up as a colleague?

The best part was when Narcissa "sneered" at the party. I'm sure she could still have an engagement party if she wanted to. As Draco suggested, she probably loosened up after a few drinks. Great chapter.

I was wondering where Lucius was. I figured that was him behind Hermione. I wonder what Draco will have to pay for punching his father in public. Great chapter.

The end of this chapter was so romantic. I hope Lucius doesn't find a loophole and get his fortune back. Although, Draco has an important position and may be on his way to making his own fortune. Great chapter.

I'm glad Lucius didn't get any money back. I'm kind of jealous that Hermione is marrying for money and love:D I wish I could do that. Great chapter.

Yay for Hermione! She broke up the fight when no one else could. How cute that Dobby hung up all the socks. Great chapter.

That was a lovely story. It's nice to just read a romance and not have to worry about someone fighting--except at the wedding of course. Great story.

In Retrospect. by Magical Maeve

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Severus Snape is a young Slytherin with a lot of homework and expectations. He has no idea that his world is about to be changed irrevocably. This is a Maeve/Severus short fic that details their time at Hogwarts.

I wonder what Lily did to Sirius. I can see why Lily and James took a while to get together.

I really liked this chapter. So Lily ended up fixing Sirius and altering his memory. I was thinking of later when Maeve finds out Lily was actually her sister. I didn't find Severus' romantic comments at the end particularly Snape-like but they worked here. I kind of like to see him a little more vulnerable and softer with the ladies.

You'd think the Gryffindors would have way better manners. Maybe there is such a thing as spoiled rich kids. Or were they just going through their awful teenage years?

Maeve does kind of put forth the view that she can read minds. I've noticed with family members or friends that sometimes they and I will come up with the same thought at the same time--like we know what the other's thinking. Maybe that's what Severus and Maeve are doing.

I wish Severus and Maeve would get together. They both need a friend. There always has to be some family or political problem that interferes in relationships.

A Moment Like This by Kerichi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Some people spend a lifetime searching for someone they can love with all their heart. Sirius and Cami found love and wait only for that special kiss...and a moment like this.

This is the kind of romance that reality doesn't even come close to. In the first place, I am lonely for my big dogs. I can remember the feel of a big dog, laying his head in my lap, snuggling up beside me in bed. Thank you for helping me remember that. You'd think I'd want to remember being next to my husband but I have fonder memories of my dogs. And, I don't regret saying that. I loved the scene when Snuffles brings Cami the rose. I actually went "awww" out loud. Of course, Fynn came running over to be confronted with the question "Where's my flower, Fynn?" He just looked at me and wagged his tail. When Sirius came back at the end--well that was wonderful. I knew he was going to say "Ladies first." Excellent story. Perfect reading for a Saturday evening.

Author's Response:

Reality has its own magic, :D, and can be stranger than fiction (which is why that phrase exists, heh) but I have fond memories of lovable big dogs, too, although none brought me flowers! That's where the Animagus-lover benefits start kicking in. ^_~

Tell Fynn he's being immortalized in fiction . . .it just hasn't posted yet on this site.

Creating a Ghost by DaniDM

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: PreHP as seen through the eyes of a new student. Alicia had always been told that she was special but now her life was to take a drastic turn. Orphaned, in a new school and different from the others, can she find solace with Severus and Remus ?

A/N - The rating was changed due to the content of the Epilogue. Warning to sensitive readers.

I think Alicia's one of the first people I've seen who can handle Sirius and she's not even trying:D I loved your description of her worship in the beginning. I was impressed that Severus was respectful and knew what was going on. I'm glad he went to the dance. Great chapter.

Author's Response: I did a whole lot of research for these stories, so the information is real and accurate.Glad you liked the ritual. I wonder what Severus' real motivation was to go to the dance? Dani

I can imagine Alicia's disappointment in not being able to go to Italy for Easter. It has to be much warmer than Scotland. Alicia really does need to learn to control what she does with her thoughts. What possessed her to buy a Sour Puss for Severus and tell him it reminded her of him:D The notebook was perfect though. Great chapter.

Author's Response: At this point in time, Alicis is only 15. Her control will come. As for the Sour Puss, as a teen, it was one of those "learning" experiences. ooppsss. It shows that she's not entirely social smooth. Awkward... Dani

I'm sure Remus doesn't see it this way but he shouldn't be disappointed in seeing Alicia kiss Severus. Remus hasn't really made any moves on Alicia and Severus is about as slow a romantic as I don't know what--Remus has had plenty of time to do something. I know he can't just pop out and say that he's a werewolf but it seems he could do a little more in the dating department. The thought that Alicia will be her grandfather's secret weapon against Voldemort is disturbing. If you go back to your other story it seems like Alicia was manufactured for this purpose. Grandpa is still being very manipulative. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Remus, ah, Remus. So quiet. so shy. so awkward. He shows up in later stories. As for Albus, hmmm, Alicia "manufactured for this purpose"? You think? I certainly wouldn't put it past him. manipulative %#&&*% Dani

That was totally cool--how Alicia rescued Severus. I love the Marauders and I know three of the four were heroes but let's face it, they were also big bullies. Maybe if Severus hadn't been bullied so bad he wouldn't have turned to Voldemort. He was entranced by the brotherhood and the power--much like someone joining a gang. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Interestingly enough, I never liked the Marauders. I saw them as bullies. I know what you mean about turning to Voldemort as a feeling of brotherhood. My heart goes out to Severus. sigh... Dani

I wasn't sure if you had edited the stories on this site. So I thought I'd read here and maybe compare on ff. Do we find out about Alicia's parents and what happened to them? And where is Elizabett? Look at me--all full of questions and you've just started this book:D So far I like it. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Sorry. No. I haven't started upgrading on this site yet. However, this story is complete on FF.net, and I'm up to chapt 15 in Life in the Interim. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish that one this week. The story focuses on a new character (my original), but I've made a few connections here and there. Elizabett makes only a brief appearance. You'll find out why eventually. Dani

That was so sad. On the one hand, Alicia was going back to Italy--to the warmth and good food. On the other hand, she was leaving her first love and was being totally manipulated again--prepared for her grandfather's battle. All I could think was thank goodness I've been able to make my own decisions from an early age. I haven't always made the right ones but they were my own to make. I'm glad Alicia found out that Remus was a werewolf. She didn't think any less of him for it. I think I liked the Marauders because JKR wrote them up to be heroes but when you actually think about it they really did have their issues. James Potter wasn't perfect--he was murdered for the cause and he was Harry's father. Sirius was a lady's man and was very confused after how he'd been raised. Peter was a despicable traitor. Remus was bright but had such low self-esteem that I think that got in the way of many things. Anyway, those are my thoughts. One more chapter and this story is done. This chapter was great, by the way.

Author's Response: I cuold feel her pain at not finding Severus, and it's good that she and Remeus "made up" this will help in the future. Dani

That was so heart wrenching. Such powerful women brought down. Such a waste. I'm kind of stunned. I'm guessing it was Severus who came to get Alicia, but too late. I don't blame Elizabett for saying what she said to Albus. Great story. Sad at the end though. Wait a minute--I just reread the last section. She didn't die did she--she left by portkey?? I guess I'll find out in the next installment.

Author's Response: Tee he hee about the portkey. Dani

I thought maybe Alicia's parents had died in an explosion or something like that. All I can say is, again, people die because of their association with Dumbledore, I remember Tom Riddle's threats against Catherine when she was a baby. I think that, about this time, I'd be saying "I'm going back to Italy." Great chapter.

Author's Response: Good connection. Ya, I'd be heading home too. The next story takes place almost exclusively in Italy. I learned some Italian to write it. :-) Dani
