This was Northumbrian of Ravenclaw House writing for Round Three of the 2012 Character Triathlon. This is now a longer chaptered story.

Perfect timing! I was just re-reading Beard-Hunters the other day and was wondering if you were going to give us readers a christmas treat.
This story was very well done. I loved hearing it told through Annie's pov. And I must admit, Santa-Hagrid is now one of my favorite Hagrid descriptions- right next to FurryFace from Tales from the battle.

I’ve been rereading Beard Hunter prior to posting it on another site, and I’ve made a few tweaks. I supposed I should upload the edited version here, too.
I really should have given The Last Marauder some credit, as it was her(?) rather darker story “Why I’m Afraid of Spiders†which emboldened me to write from Annie’s perspective. In fact, I will.

Yay another update! I think Bobbie is handling it all rather well.
I am happy with the fact that Harry is able call Ginny out on being a bad looser, it keeps in "real" in my mind and not many fanfic writers do that with this couple.

Bobbie is doing okay. Although she has no idea what she's letting herself in for.I'm sure that, like all sporting professionals, Ginny doesn't like to lose. It goes with the territory.

Great job. I really liked it. You keep the characters true to how they are in the books. I can totally see Rowling having Bellatrix and Lucius acting that way. I was nice to see Narcissa be annoyed with her husband.
