I generally like one-shots, but this was one of the best.
Was the "loved you before I was born" intended as a flip to the "loved you before you were born" saying that we hear occaisonally?
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. I'm not sure I understand about the play on words you are asking about.
The truth is, I messed this story up and that it has to be considered alternate universe. You have to accept that Harry's parents were killed sometime between July 31st, Harry's first birthday, and August 11th the day Ginny was born, instead of on October 31st approximately 2 1/2 months after Ginny was born.

Harry Potter and the Blood Traitor by Huskers

OK, this may be a mind-bendingly stupid question on m part, but how is Ginny the Blood Traitor? Is it because she, a pure-blood witch, has chosen a mixed-blood husband?

Author's Response: No, it is not stupid. Any pure blood witch or wizard, who is choosing to fight against Voldemort and his DE's is regarded as a Blood Traitor. In that respect, some could argue that Ron is the Blood Traitor in my book. In my mind though, it is Ginny because she is the character in the book who has the greatest influence on Harry and the story over all.

OK, maybe I shouldn't post that late in the day on a Monday. You answered my question when Ron was in Dumbledore's office: Phineas regarded Ron as a Blood Traitor because of his involvement with Hermione.
Author's Response: Someone else who has always regarded the Weasleys as Blood Traitors is Draco Malfoy.

I was just re-reading (one of my favorite vices) and realized something that really bugs me about the first chapter. When Mrs Weasley and Dumbledore come to Ron's room, she keeps speaking for Dumbledore. Her dialog looks like she is delivering a message from somebody who it not standing right behind her. In a normal conversation, she would probably say something like "Professor Dumbledore needs to speak with you", and then hand the floor over to D.
Author's Response: You know, I see your point. But in this case, still like it this way. I tend to think that Dumbledore lets people speak for him sometimes. This is one of those times. It allows him to interupt at certain points and brings greater emphasis to that point than if he were doing all the speaking himself. You see it in this conversation when he interupts Molly and puts Voldemort's name out in the open. His interuption brings greater emphasis to the name than if he had just been speaking the whole time. Anyways, that's why I did it this way.

This chapter was a good wrap-up. You had a lot of loose ends to deal with, but got them out of the way handily.
The only real gripe with this story was that your battles tended to run long. The grit an detail was fun, but it's hard for a reader to keep the intensity up for too long. I guess there's a trade off there. Otherwise, the overall story was great, and I thought you did a good job on characterization. Your original characters were wonderful.
The end of a story is always a bit ambivilant. There is joy in finishing, but sadness that it has come to an end. Thanks for a wonderful tale.
