Summary: Bill Weasley was the coolest, the most accomplished, and in many ways, the wisest among the Weasley siblings. But he also got something which no other Weasley did – a cursed letter sent by a mysterious pen-pal that made his ears shrivel up. This is the story behind that unfortunate incident.

This is hestiajones of Hufflepuff writing for the final task of the Winter Character Exploration Class over at the beta-boards.

Thanks to two BRILLIANT GIRLS who made this one-shot possible – Jess (ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor), who took care of all the technical errors and saved me from besmirching the Portuguese language, and Carole (Equinox Chick) who rescued me with her feedback on the writing and also with Briticisms.

Another charming story. I liked this secret life of Bill Weasley. It's always disappointed me that we haven't heard or seen that much of Bill or Charlie.
I loved how he managed to get his trip to see Beatriz.

Author's Response: This review means so much to me. I was disappointed that not many people read this fic. It kind of shows that characters like Bill, Charlie, etc. don't really get the kind of fandom attention they deserve. I adore Bill, and he was my assignment for my Character Exploration class. :) I knew I had to write about the time before Harry's era began. Just a brief history for such a wonderful guy.

This is hestiajones of Hufflepuff writing for the February Challenge - Forbidden Love. And AHEM! It won the fisrt place. ;)

Date: 04/16/10 Title: Chapter 1: When I was a child, I was not allowed to dream.

Gosh, you are an amazingly good writer.
This was a wonderfully crafted story that was full of twists and turns.
I loved the way you had Andromeda fall in love with Ted; she really tried to ignore and refuse his advances, but true love won out.
I just enjoyed the way Ted carefully courted her. Bellatrix lived up to her reputation as a not nice person. Having Cissy fall in the middle was sweet; she really did fall in love with Lucius. Cissy does love quite powerfully; she loved her son dearly.

Ted/Andromeda is a pairing I love whole-heartedly. I like the whole "forbidden" thing surrounding them, and the fact that they are so different in personality adds so much more to their relationship. I am glad you enjoyed Ted's courtship; you are right, it is "careful", if anything. :)
