A NOTE TO READERS OF "DRACO'S REFLECTION": There will be no other chapters and/or sequels. The story was meant to be an exploration of Draco's character, nothing more. It was meant to leave you hanging.

Anyways...

I first got hooked on fanfiction through a Lord of the Rings related site. Funnily enough, my own first attempt was a crossover between Tolkien's Middle-earth and Rowling's Harry Potter world. The reason? I couldn't help but notice several (most likely unintended) similarities between the two fandoms. For instance, you have the Ringwraiths and the dementors...Not that there's much one can do to make tall beings in black, hooded robes look all that different, mind you; those sorts of figures appear quite menacing.

Anyway, I digress, but I promise that my stories won't do that. I love writing, and hope to one day publish my own works. Please read and review the story I have posted. Thanks!

The Unseemly Proposal by sparx

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Read to find out how this one unseemly proposal causes absolute chaos in their lives! THIS STORY IS NOT HBP and DH COMPATIBLE! Hey all! Check out my personal info for the expected date of the next update. =)

I really like this story. It's one of the few actually believable Hermione/Draco stories I have read. The reason? Well, for one thing, the two are wonderfully in character (I do dislike it when Draco turns into a complete wuss...it's just not like him). And your plot is very well thought-out. Indeed, the Love-Knot is quite a novel idea; it makes perfect sense that in order to get Hermione and Draco together, they must be forced. You've paced the story very well, and it is great to see the two characters changing (but not too quickly). Excellent job!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for this review! I'm glad you (and many other readers) like the fact that I stayed true to Draco and Hermione's actual character. Personally, I just felt that it makes more sense that way. And just like you said, in order to get these two together, they must be forced. It's good to hear that the pacing of the story is fine and that you like the subtle changes in them. Thanks again, Galadriel8891, and do look out for the next chapter. =D
