Taking Direction by WeasleyMom
Rated: 3rd-5th Years •Summary: What if the characters in the Harry Potter films were portrayed—not by actors—but by the book versions of themselves, as created by Rowling? How might things unfold on that set? What would the characters think of the changes made from the stories they’d already lived out… to the ones written for the script?
This fic is a series of one-shots, posted as chapters, each from the perspective of a different character who is dealing with the changes occurring between the book and the script.

This one took a while, but it was worth it. I mean, Ron's response, the shoelace moment (don't get me started on that) and "we're saving it for seven"... aw, wonderful. Just love your fics.

Author's Response: Aw, thanks so much. The shoelace bit is really unwatchable in the film, isn't it? I just feel so embarrassed for her when I see it. Poor Ginny. I can see the others having a bit of fun with her over it though.

I simply love your fics. I think you capture the essence of the character you are writing about and I could definitely see Hermione writing these letter. Well, if not writing in parchment, at least writing in her head. They did have a lot of time and I am sure that after thinking about how desperate their situation was and what they were going to do next, she thought about Ron.
Also, I never realy thought about HER situation after Godric's Hollow and what would happen to her if Harry died. Great work!!!
Can't wait for the epilogue.
Author's Response: Wow, thanks so much for the kind words. You know, I had never considered her view of the Godric's Hollow incident either, though I've always thought Harry's observations of her from the book very interesting. I think he notices something about her looking bad or ill or something, as soon as he comes out of it, and then how she cried when talking to him about the wand. Also, how she didn't really know what to say about the condition he had been, but finally said he had been "ill." Anyway, it was fun imagining what that all looked like from her side, considering the experience Harry was having inside Voldemort's head. Thanks again for reading this, (and others, apparently) and taking the time to leave a review. I really appreciate it.

Loved it! I realy have no words to describe how you nailed all the characters. I think that Molly's was the best, simply beautiful. Lavender's was also perfect, how he explained why he went out with her... nice touch. It took you some time, but it was worth the waiting. Thanks!!!

After a year of absence, Ron and Hermione are back again at Shell Cottage to help Fleur prepare the house for her baby shower. Needless to say, old memories come to the forefront and painful discoveries are made. Hearts are broken and healed again.

I read this as soon as it came out but I decided to wait to give my review.
It is awesome. Really emotional, bringing all those scenes back.... the Manor, the first time they met (nice touch, by the way), the dance at the wedding etc. But all of that was a bit confusing. Too many thoughts, too much emotions in such a short chapter (although it is the longest so far).
Maybe you could have just developed Hermione's with this one, described more their feelings with in the memories and after it was over.
Just a thought. It was great, though.
Can't wait for the next one!!!
Author's Response: thanks for the suggestions, i could defintely add more of hermione's thoughts to it, and i'll be sure to keep that in mind when i go through it again. yeah, at first when i was looking this chapter over before i submitted it, i was wondering if there was too much stuff in it, but then i realized (just in my opinion of course) that it was supposed to be all crazy and confusing, because at the moment (in the manor that is,) everything is just happening at once, and there's all of these emotions then all of these memories come flooding forth.... and its just chaos in general. :)
but then again, thats just me, and i know that there's always room for improvement, and reviews are meant to present suggestions to the author in order to make the writing better, so thanks again for the great review!

Hmmmmm.... something tells me that this one is going to be one of my favorite fics. And that you will be my new fav writer (alongside WeasleyMom and MagEd).
One thing I loved the most is the fact that we aren't sure if Ron and Hermione are actually a couple.
I'm really curious about what's to come. Hope you write soon.
Author's Response: oh, thanks so much! its truly encouraging to get reviews like this, it just makes my day. :) im so glad that you like it, though. to me it's an honor to even be in the same sentence alongside other fantastic fanfic writers like WeaselyMom (who is my inspiration to write fanfic in the first place.)

How sweet! Enough with the dark chapters, right? Really enjoyed the "fluff" in this one, nice break from the intensity of the others. The "take it off" bit was great!

Author's Response: yeah, i do like to sprinkle a bit of fluff in there every now and then for good measure. :) thanks, i'd have to describe the last chapter as very bittersweet, and near the beginning of the "end", i'd have to emphasize the bitter part. dont worry, i really dont think i ended it on a depressing note or anything, just a realistic one. i hope u guys like it though...

Author's Response: it's a bit out of canon, but i imagined that at this point, ron and harry are training to become aurors, and i would guess that as part of this training, they would be trained in legilimency, but also harry would have a hand in helping ron with this as well. if theres one person who would know about doing that, it would be harry, right?

Really loved this fic. The correct amount of fluff and smutt :)
Anyway, I think Ron and Hermione were very in character. The only thing I didn't like was Hermione asking Fleur for lingerie... I don't know, just felt a bit awkward... and not very hygenic... but that is just me ;)
