I just discovered this story and I'm really liking it so far. I have to admit that usually I despise the Dramione pairing, but in this case I think it's very realistic, especially the way you've developed all of the characters. I can't wait to read the rest of the story! Great job.

Author's Response: My goodness, thank you for sidestepping your dislike of the pairing and giving this story a try. Glad you're liking it! Thanks again! Also, I hope you'll try other Dramione stories. There are lots of them much, much better than mine. That's why I'm hooked. ;D

Coupled with a series of mysterious apology letters that Lily has begun receiving, it's bound to be an interesting year.

I loved this! I just read all of it in one go, and it's awesome. I especially like how the ending has all of the characters' perspectives.

Author's Response: thanks! i'm trying to do a little more of that multi-perspective thing in the sequel. i just love all of the characters too much not too. glad you liked it :)

Always...But Not Who You Think by hestiajones

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Severus waits alone in a park to make the ultimate choice - Voldemort or Love? But, of course, Severus can decide only when he gets there first.

I thank my LJ pals for their love, support and sense of humour.

Oh gosh...when I realized whom Severus was meeting in the park, I have to admit that I burst out laughing. However, I genuinely liked the rest of the story. There was real emotion, especially in the dialogue, and it was very well-written. Also, it gives a whole new meaning to why Snape's Patronus was a doe..."Always" indeed. :D

Author's Response: Thank you for the review! It was a laugh writing it. :D

Hearts of Red and Gold by moonyschick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: It started out as just a simple friendship between four boys. The story of that friendship, as it grew and they became men, would eventually define wizarding history and change the world forever. Documented here is the story of the four unique, imperfect, and remarkable boys who made up the Marauders.

I really like the story from what I've read so far. It fills in the blanks that JKR left about the Marauders' home life and family, which is awesome. Please keep writing it!

A Dance by Niamara

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: "He laughed nervously, running a hand through his hair again. “What I'm trying to say is... Dance with me?"" Lily/James.

I really enjoyed this story! All the Marauders' personalities, especially James', seemed realistic and the ending was so cute :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it. :) Cheers. --Nia x

Different in the Morning by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Seventh year is almost over, and after indulging in the kitchen a bit too much, James inadvertently reveals his deepest fears for the future. Lily realizes he is not quite who she thought he was, and admits to something she had never really considered before.

Wow. I loved James in this story--well, I always love James, but I loved your characterization of him. The contradictions he has to face as a person who cares deeply for and worries about the people he loves, but also a courageous person who feels compelled to go out and fight Voldemort, were portrayed very well. I thought Lily's realization that he was more serious than he had been and she needed to treat him as such was realistic too, because essentially growing up with him for the past seven years might well have caused her to treat him the same even as he matured. Lastly, as a diehard J/L shipper, I always welcome a bit of fluffiness between them. :)

After reading this and some of your other stories, I can see why people call you the queen of James/Lily!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the amazing review! I appreciate the title as well, though there are loads of other good J/L authors around! :) I really do enjoy writing them, however, and I really appreciate you reading this story because even though it is short, it's one of my favorites. I have a soft spot for James, even if he is being sick on Lily. ;) I'm glad you appreciated both the serious parts as well as a little bit of fluff. Thank you again for the lovely review! ~Gina :)

Shrouds by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Not all Voldemort’s victims were on the side of right.

Over a year has passed since the Battle of Hogwarts. Families grieve, but their dead are remembered with honour.

For Draco Malfoy it has been a year of nothing. Merely existing, he is bound tightly to his past as if enveloped in a shroud, unwilling to accept help. It takes a chance encounter on a cobbled street to jerk him into the realisation that he cannot go on like this. A chance encounter with the one person who has most cause to hate him.

But shrouds, however tightly bound, unravel.

A huge thank you to Natalie (hestiajones) who put her laminated canon card in jeopardy by beta'ing this fic and being very supportive all the way through.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. Her lawyers agree, so please don't mistake us. I just like taking the odd liberty (ahem) with her characters (and pairings)

Nominated for two QSQ's in Best Non-Canon Romance and also Best Post Hogwarts story for 2011. Thank you.

I just discovered this story today, and I'm loving it. That was quite a R/H breakup. Most of all, I must give you a (virtual) round of applause for addressing the whole Malfoy Manor episode, because in most Dramione stories I've read Hermione seems not to care that Draco stood there doing nothing while she was tortured, and you handled that perfectly. Awesome, awesome story.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. Ignoring the whole Malfoy Manor and everything that had happened before always annoys me in Draco/Hermione stories, so I wanted to address that. I'm glad you enjoyed the story and hope you like the rest. ~Carole~

I just found this story and loved it! I've always had a soft spot for J/L, and the way you wrote this was so..real--I don't know how else to describe it. All the characters seemed to jump off the page--especially James, Lily, and Sirius. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm glad they seemed realistic :)

This is probably the best chapter of fan fiction I have ever read. (of course, I haven't read the rest of the story yet.) All the characters are so well-portrayed and I'm even forgetting that Leda isn't in canon. Awesome job!

Okay I've never written two reviews for a story, but I'll admit it, I love this one. The characters of James and Lily are both so well-done in this fic and I can only hope that I'm doing them as much justice. Update soon! (PS: fellow AVPM fan! Yay! xD)

This was so great! I particularly liked how Hugo had Hermione's sharp wit combined with Ron's sense of humor. I also enjoyed the camaraderie between the two boys and that they weren't all lovey-dovey with each other, because I don't think Scorpius and Hugo would be. Lastly, loved the title!

Author's Response: Hello!

I am glad to know you saw Hugo's parents in him, and also that you loved the camaraderie between the two boys. As for the title, I will let Kara know as it was her idea. :) Thanks for the review!

Unexpected by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Lily Evans finds herself disappointed when James Potter begins dating a new student during seventh year. A casual conversation about how to deal with it leads to unexpected consequences for her…and Sirius Black.
Reviewer: unjellify Signed
Date: 01/17/11 Title: Chapter 1: One Shot

I really enjoyed this story! I was surprised by how well I liked it, since James/Lily is my favorite pairing in the series, but even with dialogue-only the plot was so believable (apart from the American exchange student's coming to Hogwarts), not to mention hilarious. Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed the story, dialogue, pairing, American and all. ;) I have to admit, the American exchange student is a bit of an inside joke between myself and the friend I was chatting with when this was born. It's sort of my way of poking fun at the cliche, I suppose. The drabble was actually supposed to be about the exchange student (there was a cliche challenge over on the beta boards) but never got there because Lily and Sirius just took over, for which I am very glad. Thanks so much for reading this, and thank you for the lovely review! ~Gina :)

One to Remember by Gmariam

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: It's Valentine's Day, seventh year, and James Potter is determined to make it one to remember. Unfortunately, so many things go wrong that Lily Evans will probably remember it for all the wrong reasons.

I always love a good James/Lily fic, and this one is, well, great. :) The scene in Potions with Sirius was absolutely hilarious, and I can't wait to finish what you've got so far.

Author's Response: Thanks - I had fun with that bit in Potions, lol! I'm glad you are enjoying it and do hope you'll read more. Thanks so much for the lovely review, I really appreciate it! ~Gina :)

Truth in the Dare by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Passing a few hours in each other's company while waiting for their mates to escape detention, Sirius and Remus embarked on a good, old-fashioned game of Truth or Dare. But which one had the most potential for tension between the two: honesty, or the courage to do something that had thus far only occurred in his wildest imaginings?

Aw, this was so cute! I found Remus' comment that Lydia smells good hilarious. I had never shipped Remus/Sirius before, but you wrote it well.

Author's Response: Hehe, i'm glad you liked it. I just wanted to posit a plausible scenario, and I like to believe that this is at least believable. Thanks for the visit :) ~Jess

Raindrops by Gmariam

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

He returned with a quiet sadness and a surprising new responsibility to keep him focused. She returned with a misplaced bitterness and the matching position that forced them to work with one another. Yet fear, resentment, and stubborn arrogance kept pushing them apart, even when they were meant to be together.

James/Lily is my favorite pairing in the series, though we don't get to see much of them in canon. So far, I love your takes on both characters, and I thought the dialogue especially was excellent. Can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review! They are my favorite pairing as well and I can't seem to write enough of them. I sometimes wish JKR would give us a bit more of them, but then all the fanfic out there would be contradicted, and I sometimes fear her story for them is far more mundane than all the crazy stuff we've thought up. I'm glad you found both characters appealing so far, and thanks for the compliment on the dialogue. It's one thing I love writing and probably have the most fun with. Thanks again! ~Gina :)

What's In A Name? by Midnight Storm

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:
What's in a name? That which we call a rose

– William Shakespeare

But for Lily and James Potter, it wasn't that simple.

This was a wonderful story! I'm still laughing. And when they brought up Elvendork, I almost died. "What's nice about that one is, you can use it for a boy OR a girl," and all that. Also, Elvendork Potter and the Philosopher's Stone has a certain ring to it.... Anyway, Elvendork aside, this was great and I loved your characterizations of James, Lily, and Sirius.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Yeah, the characterisations were pretty tough for a while there, tbh, but once I got the plot together the characters started forming alright. I'm glad it made you laugh, it's a really good feeling to know that I made someone probably very far away "almost die" laughing :D

Incorrigible by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: It's Halloween and the Head Boy and Head Girl are stuck in the greenhouses for detention. Will they escape the clutches of the deadly Devil's Snare…or worse, one another?
A lighthearted tale for Halloween, not to be read in the greenhouse.

I liked this story a lot. James/Lily is my OTP, and it was cute and made me smile after a VERY long week. Also, the "Are you serious?" joke with Sirius' name never gets old for some reason--I burst out laughing. Nice job!

One thing did confuse me. Probably I'm just misreading it, but they keep mentioning how Lily got drunk on Butterbeer. Is it just a representative drink? I thought only house-elves could get drunk on Butterbeer, unless Lily went on a Butterbeer bender (not sure why anyone would do that).

Author's Response: Okay, I'm glad you liked the Sirius joke because I'm sure at least one person (probably more) will roll their eyes and cry 'cliche!' LOL! It is - but I think I acknowledged it well enough, hee hee. Anyway - thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it. It was all for a smile - I've got a more serious one sucking my life away so I needed a break, lol. As for the butterbeer - I always thought it had a little bit of alcoholic content, though I will admit it may not be enough to get rip-roaring drunk. But to have some fun and still get in trouble after more than a few? Maybe. Or maybe they had a mixer too. ;) Thanks again for the review!! ~Gina :)
