FawkesToTheRescue
Hey guys! I have been pretty out of things for awhile, but I'm determined to make a great return! I should have declared a semi-hiatus, but instead I just kind of disappeared . . . .
If for some weird reason you would want to read the stories I have up, go right ahead. I must warn you that I deleted quite a few of them 'cause they were so embarassing and these aren't much better.
I think that there will be some more stories up in the near future . . . . stay tuned.
Thanks to all who have helped me out <3 I love you all.
-MeganFawkes
This has got to be one of my favorite poems of all time. I absolutely love this, it is so beautiful. It makes me really think and it is amazing writing. I think I will go read your other stories now . . . this one inspires me. It almost makes me want to write a poem! You are amazing!!!
--FawkesToTheRescue--
Author's Response: Well, thank you!
Reading this review inspires me to write even more!
I hope you like my other poem!
Truly and sicerely, you made my day!
~Thestral
Wow. Pardon me if I make a few mistakes; i can barely type. This story is so, so, so, good. Like really you have no idea how much I enjoyed reading this fic.
But as much as I enjoyed it I have a few constructive crisicisms I want to point out.
Just kidding! There is nothing bad I can say about this fic.
You captured the characters all so, so, well. I wish I could do that.
I have always been a big fan of the story behind Peter Pettigrew and this fic is like EXACTLY perfect for me. Really, really, well done with Peter. It was amazing! Absolutely briliant!
I'm sorry, I can't type properly; I am in such a daze over this story. Like after I submit this review, I'm probably going to read this over. And over. And over.
If I had an account on the beta forums, I would submit this for a QSQ. And then create another user so they could submit it.
You also captured the essence of friendship and best friends perfectly.
What am I saying? You pretty much captured EVERYTHING perfectly, from the first word to the last.
If you don't mind, I will read this again now.
--FawkesToTheRescue--
I am so sorry to bother you but I just read it again and I just can't get over how extraordinary this is. It is just so, so, perfect. You did everything right. So much details, so much thought, it is so absolutely brilliant.
--FawkesToTheRescue--
Author's Response: Wowwww! :o Thankyou so much for the awesome review! I feel so honoured.. I haven't had a review in so long, to see someone being so complimentary about my work does wonders for me ego, I can tell you that! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Sirius is my favourite character, and I feel that so many fics out there don't do justice to his character, so that you likes this makes me so happy. I am easily pleased :') Thankyou again.
This is a tale of two separated souls who slowly found one another in times of crisis. And how, in the greatest crisis of all, their son in mortal danger, they stood united against the darkness.
This is the story of James and Lily Potter.
Jess!
This was beautiful! And I can't believe that this was your first poem! It is so, so, so beautiful! Oh my!
I really enjoyed how the Lily/James stanzas were almost the same, but slightly different. That was a very, very neat effect. It was really powerful, and it made you think about how they were alike, and also how their perspectives were different. Great work.
I also like how it goes from in the beginning how they meet and then how they end. That was beautiful. This whole poem was like a mini, condensed version of their life in an easy-to-read, fun-to-read form! It was a joy!
And I like their afterlife. However, how did they know that he was going to fulfill a destiny of greatness? I mean, I know there was a prophecy, but I would picture them to be scared and afraid for Harry, rather than accept the fact that he would destroy the man who killed them at such a young age, and be okay with that. But that's just my thinking, and it's only a minor thing.
I really, really, enjoyed this. Fantastic!
-Megan
Author's Response:
Hi again, Meg.
Yeah, this was my first poem. I worked my butt off on it, and it was also my first James/Lily, which is a genre I typically steer clear of.
About the afterlife, my theory is that once one ides, one gains knowledge that the living could never understand. That's how they know that Harry is going to die and why they're so resigned to it in DH. That is just my little theory.
Thanks for reading/reviewing, and I glad you enjoyed it. :D

The hallmark of Dumbledore's Army was their refusal to give in to the darkness that was slowly but surely emcompassing their world. As long as there was a hope, the DA would live on. This is a warning, an invitation, a promise, to one and all that they will not back down until the battle is won.
This poem placed third in the Last Line Standing Challenge in Poetry Anyone. The last words of each line are from a non-HP poem (Robert Frost, but the name of the poem escapes me), but we were to build a new poem around it.
Jess!!!! I loved this!!
I loved how you portrayed the DA. My favorite part that you put in was how you added (and made it very clear) that the DA would accept anybody, no matter what House they were in, who was willing to work together and be brave for a good cause. That really is the main goal of the DA, isn't it? It's a group of students who are working together.
I really, really liked your third stanza where you explain how they only do well when they work together. This really is important, isn't it? Even though the Chosen One is a part of the group, it proves as in the Batlle of the Department of Mysteries, that they will succed when the DA works together. You had Neville, Luna, Ginny, Ron, Harry, Hermione and they succeeded. And that was what the DA was all about.
Also, I could just like picture the DA chanting this poem. Very cute.
Have a wonderful day, Jess!!
-Megan
Author's Response:
Thank you, Megan! I'm glad you liked it so much.
I really wanted to capture the fearlessness of the DA and how they would never stop until the Death Eaters were gone from the school and from the world. I'm happy that I could convey that correctly.
Lovely review, and thanks for visiting.
~Jess
Natalie!!!
If you look down a lil' bit, you will find that I've reviewed this one before. BUT that was when my reviews were terrible and now I shall give you a proper one.
One thing I love about this poem is that it truly shows what the effects of the war of on Draco. It makes me almost shudder how well you did this.
Your lines, they flow so well. The whole poem is by far the best I have ever read, ever *apologizes to everyone else's poems I've reviewed - I still love you* . The poem flows like a river. HAHA terrible terrible simile. Did that brighten you up a little? :D
In all seriousness, I do adore this poem so very much. It is probably the best piece of work (I think) on this website. Truly.
You have the characterisation so spot on, it's . . . not even funny. Really, JK Rowling should take this poem, publish it, and you would earn millions and millions of dollars. Wouldn't that be nice?
This poem really shows Draco. I think Draco Malfoy should come over and give you a hug for truly capturing him. Would you enjoy that? Would that show you how good this poem is?
Or maybe, maybe your face would be on the Galleon for writing the best HP poem ever.
Or maybe, you should get 12% of every Harry Potter fan (in the whole world)'s money for truly inspiring them.
Natalie, this poem makes me love Harry Potter so much more. It makes me want to go and read DH again and again. It makes me want to go post a thread or something in the forums. I think I will do that now.
Natalie, this poem inspires me to live. Seriously. Because there's people out there with talent. Like you. And you have to find it. It makes me want to relish mine, whatever it is.
I could write so much about this poem, but I really can't find the words. So I think at this point that I will bid you a good day, hug you, tell you how much I love you (in a non weird sort of way) and be off.
Have a good day Natalie.
*Hugs!!!*
Me luvs you!
I bet I'm creeping you out. I'm not like that...I swear.. :D
-Megan
Author's Response: First of all, you're not creeping me out. Secondly, GAAAAAHHH! Do you think JKR would let me publish and earn the millions? YIPPIE! The idea itself makes me float in ecstasy.
Thank you for all the kind reviews, Megan. Believe me, it is a great feeling to experience such lovely, energetic compliments. Makes an entire week for me, to be honest. I am happy you liked it. I think it is my best poem yet. :) *hugs* I loves you, too!
~Natalie.
I absolutely adore this poem! You did a wonderful job! ;) Congrats! You deserved to WIN the qsq! Brilliant!
Author's Response: Hey! Thanks for this energetic review. :D:D Reviews like these are already a form of victory. ;)
~Natalie.
I love this story! I can't wait for it to be updated! great job! ;) --FawkesToTheRescue--
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! :)))
When I am on the bus and I'm bored, the first thing I do is pull out my phone and check my email to see if my story got rejected. Then I check this site to see if my story got validated. Then I pull up some fan fiction. For some reason, this is the story I'm always typing into the search box. Keep it up.
Author's Response: You just made my day. Thank you so much, that is one of the best reviews I've ever recieved and it really made me smile. Don't worry about your story being rejected or not; Chapter One for "The Close" took about four times before it was validated. Never give up, okay? It will be accepted eventually, and when it does, I will be the first person to check it out! Let me know when it's up...can't wait to read it! Until then, thank you again for making my day.
I like it! Interesting POV. About how long does it take to be validated? Just curious, I'm anxiously waiting for mine. Nice story!
Author's Response: Hey, thanks for the awesome review. It usually takes a few days to be validated, but sometimes it can be really quick. You'll recieve an e-mail telling you whether or not your writing has been approved. Thanks again for the review!
Hey! I am always reading this story! I love it! I just got my first story validated, so thanks for your support. ;)
Author's Response: Oh, you are welcome! I just read your story, and you did a great job!
I love this story so much, great job.
Sad amd beautiful, I love it. it is truly believable. Nice work.
--FawkesToTheRescue--
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear it's believable!
*dies* Okay, so I was roaming your duelling thread, and I saw that someone (I forget who) had posted that your one story was a 6-7 angst. And I thought:
OH FELLOW GRYFF, WHY NOT CHECK IT OUT?
So, you know I apparate to your author's page and I almost die when I see the title/summary. You see, this story was published like when I first discovered the site and this the first D/A I ever read. I loved it!!! And so I re-scrolled through this and thought OH MY DINNY!! because I can't believe this story I loved so much when I first joined was written by you ... *huggles* wow that's amazing
-MeganFawkes
Author's Response: Hey Megan! WOW, what a wonderful coincidence! I honestly can't believe that you actually loved this story - thank you so much! I feel so honored - my fic was your first ever fanfic reading piece. Just wow. Thanks for reading and leaving a review, Megan. :-)
My oh my, what a wonderful job you have done here with this story! I absolutely adore it; it makes me laugh and it is one of the more clever things I have read. Superb, I love it!
--FawkesToTheRescue--
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I really appreciate the compliments, since I sort of wondered about this when I started. I'm so glad you liked it - thank you for leaving such a nice review! ~Gina :)
I read this last night and I laughed out lot. It's short, sweet, to the point (though I do like the extra stuff at the end) and it is a very unique and clever part to build from. Very nice!
Author's Response: Hey there!
Glad you liked it. :D:D Yeah, after I read the first two reviews, I began wondering if I could give it a proper ending. YAY! It seems to have worked.
~Natalie.

Woah! I was totally not expecting that, Natalie! WOW!
I thought for sure, whenever I read the summary that this would be a story about Severus Snape. Which was okay, of course, because I love him. But it would've been maybe a little cliched, but still sort of original.
But of course, this was the most orignial, fascinating Albus piece I've ever read. You made the thought of Albus Dumbledore being sorted into Slytherin so realistic that when I'm done writing this review, I'm going to go on the HP lexicon and make sure he was in Gryffindor . . . . .
I think that the when you have a first and last paragraph that show such contrast, it would naturally be hard to flow the piece together and make it feel complete. But you did AMAZING! In the first paragraph is Snape thinking he doesn't want to do what Dumbledore says. But in the last paragraph you've got Snape going out to defy the Dark Lord in order to obey Dumbledore! This is just what makes this piece so, so, good! Oh my! I just loved this.
I really liked your concepts and your little twisty and your last sentence. It's very conclusive and perfect.
Another fine job!
-Megan
Author's Response: Megan, Megan! You brighten up my day. Okay, night as well, since it is 2 a.m. here. :D:D
Yikes! I was worried people would think it was a Snape story, but I couldn't think of a more appropriate summary, you know. BUT I am so happy you at least gave the story a try. Yay for that!
I have always thought Albus DumbleD (I've plenty of nicknames for this wonderful old man) as having Slytherin tendencies. He's a bit of a Machiavelli in how he uses people, although, of course, he does it for the "greater good".
I'm glad I managed to convince you about my theories. Now, I shall happily bask in the glory of your compliments. *basks*
~Natalie.
Oh my goodness, what a beautiful story! I absolutely love it! I think you did an amazing job capturing the characters. Amazing!
Author's Response: Thankyou very much! (:
