I'm a teenager living in New York. I have parents, siblings, and friends, and probably have something else to do right now, but I'll deal with that later. I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter series and love reading, reviewing, and maybe even writing fan fiction. I haven't really done anything exciting enough to write about here, so I guess I'm done.

Happy Birthday... To You by Sainyn Swiftfoot

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

You are a hero of the War. You fought at the Battle of Hogwarts alongside Harry Potter and Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, but here, tucked away in a corner of India, you are the same as the next person.

What exactly happened?

[one-shot, featuring Parvati Patil and OC's]

This was originally written for the Life Begins at Forty challenge, but didn't fit all the requirements, so it's being posted as a one-shot now.

That was a little sad, but it was beautiful, too.

Agnes by Russia Snow

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Dolores Umbridge is evil. Everyone hates her and she hates everyone. That is the way it has always been - or has it? Are people born evil? Surely there are reasons for her actions. We only ever hear the tale of the hero, what about the ememy?

This is the untold story of Dolores Umbridge.

This is Russia Snow of Gryffindor writing for The Untold Story Challenge in the Great Hall on the Beta Forums

At first, when I read the summary, I was like, How could I possibly feel sorry for Umbridge? But now that I actually read it, I almost cried.

I Am Lord Voldemort by hotbutterbeer

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: What do you do when everyone who ever knew you has abandoned you, when your chances are blown apart by circumstances beyond your control, forces set by fate that you cannot influence? You die. This is the story of Tom Marvolo Riddle.

Excerpt from Prologue

It cried out of the womb, but minutes after it had adjusted to the warm air of the orphanage, it quieted. A half an hour passed while they cleaned mother and child, rinsing the dried blood and changing the white sheets of the bed. Midnight drew closer. When they were through, Abbey helped wrap the baby in a dark blue blanket. It looked healthy, though pale. But as it gained strength, the mother on the bed seemed to lose strength. With care Abbey handed the bundle to her, placing it in her weak arms.

“His name,” Merope gasped, “Tom Marvolo Riddle… Tom’s his papa’s name; Marvolo his grandpapa’s… he would’ve wanted…” and trailed off, her eyes fluttering.

This sounds really dark, and really interesting

Bound in the Beating of Each Other's Heart by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: She had taken to walking here most nights since he’d gone. The utter loneliness of her life led her to flee her mausoleum of a marriage bed for the solitude of these shores, and Narcissa would stride up and down the coast trying to block out the memories that threatened to break her.

The title for this oneshot is a quote from Charlotte Gray.

I am Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this story has been written for Roxy Black's 'Watching the Mirror' class on the MNFF Beta Boards.

Thank you very much to Ari (Royari) for her help in beta'ing this oneshot in super speedy time.

Disclaimer I am not JK Rowling but I doubt that surprises anyone.

This so sad, but I don't mean that as an insult. I always thought that the whole 'Draco must redeem his father' thing was cruel, but what really moved me was how far narcissa was willing to go to protect her son.

Author's Response: Thank you. I think Draco loved both his parents, but Narcissa was always the one who would do her utmpst to save him, so pleased you picked up on that. Thanks again. ~Carole~

The Mrs. Norris That Was by Olney Phoenixwing

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: In Harry's second year, suspicion is mounting. Is he is the Heir of Slytherin? Tension is high throughout the school. Mrs. Norris has already been attacked. So has Colin Creevey. Tonight, Harry discovers Justin Finch-Fletchley and Nearly Headless Nick to be the latest victims. We join Harry and Professor Dumbledore in the headmaster's office soon after the find. Dumbledore has just invited Harry to confide in him anything that he needs. Harry keeps his concerns to himself, but inadvertently triggers a story from the headmaster. In it, Dumbledore explains the true nature of Argus Filch and Mrs. Norris' bond. We get an interesting glimpse into the history of these familiar characters that we know so little about. Things are not always what they seem.
Reviewer: MagicMandy Signed

This explains soooo much! Filch is portrayed as one of those characters who everyone hates, and unlike other mean characters (like Snape) we never get to see what made him so weird.

One Absolutely Beautiful Thing by BloodRayne

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: At age eleven, Dudley's daughter receives a letter he recognizes very well. As Sinead Dursley embarks on her journey of magical education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, she strikes up a strange friendship with Lorcan Scamandar. Soon, Lorcan and Sinead rule over a reign of terror at Hogwarts as they subject their fellow students to cruel and dangerous pranks.

The title of this story comes from the poem "Child" by Sylvia Plath. Also, I would like to thank Royari for being an amazing beta.

This is pretty good so far, and it is well written. Although it's interesting, I'm glad to hear that the story is going to start moving along. Can't wait to see what you have in store for Sinead.

Author's Response: Thank you! :)

The Sweetest Thing by draco_roxmysox

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: The sweetest thing a person could do would be to keep another company in her hour of need.

What if someone found his enemy where she lay seriously injured? What if he could leave her? What if he chose to stay?
Reviewer: MagicMandy Signed
Date: 12/04/10 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

This was truly the sweetest thing Draco could have done. Draco never really struck me as evil, just misguided. But in this story, he knows what is right at the end.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it :)

The Seven Potters by Gmariam

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Harry is about to leave the Burrow for the final time when his six doppelgangers give him something to think about. Set during book seven and based on the chapter of the same name, but having little to do with it, really.

This was hilarious! I liked how it was funny, but also explored Harry's personality. My personal favorites were DirtyHarry and DrunkHarry. I think I've seen SuperHarry, AngstyHarry, and AngryHarry in several fan fictions before, but not in a parody- type way; it was more accidental. Harry is a complex character, and can't be forced into being one particular 'type' of person. I especially liked the last line: 'no matter what happened here on out, he would always remain Harry.'

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review! I'm glad you liked the story and found it humorous. I think all those Harrys pop up somewhere in fanfic at some point or another, and it was fun to sort of poke fun at it all, and try to keep Harry as Harry. Writing some of their dialogue was a blast! Thank you so much for the lovely review, I really appreciate it! ~Gina :)

Seedling by the fetal positon

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: During the bitter weeks of December 1935, young Tom Riddle found shelter in a hidden alcove and in a strange boy who surprisingly liked him. The boy was compassionate, curious, and far too optimistic, and he had unexpectedly shown up on the street one cold day when Tom was feeling lonely. His name was Harry, and if Tom could ever call someone a friend, it would have to be him.
Reviewer: MagicMandy Signed
Date: 11/14/10 Title: Chapter 1: Seedling

This is an unusual story, and I mean that in a good way. I rarely come across fics that show sympathy for Voldemort. It was an interesting touch that Tom's 'friend' wasn't real.

Author's Response: Thanks! :) Glad you enjoyed it!

Thou Shalt Not Suffer by TheWizardsHarry

Date: 08/11/11 Title: Chapter 1: A Visit from Albus Dumbledore

I would just like to thank you for writing something like this. Not many people would put something like this online, but I'm glad you did. I think that if Hogwarts and magic were real, reconciling magic with their faith would be a big problem for muggleborns. Anyway, this sounds really interesting and I'll keep reading.

I thought that these letters captured the feeling that was in that part of DH. This was how I always imagined Hermione feeling during that time.

Author's Response: I'm glad you thought it was plausible for her. I enjoyed writing this so much, and had to make myself quit writing letters--haha. Epilogue to come one of these days... thanks again!

Stop Signs by leftrightmiddle

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It's been one month since the Final Battle, and George is still trying to cope with the death of his brother. He's refusing to talk to anyone, so it comes as a surprise to the both of them when he accepts Angelina's invitation for coffee. During that fateful conversation, George learns that the funny thing about stop signs is that they're also start signs.

This was a great story! The only problem with the seventh book, in my opinion, was that Fred died. To me, you either kill off both or neither when it comes to Fred and George. But this story balanced out Fred s death.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I fully agree with you, the death of Fred was a problem for me. He justs adds so much life to the page. I spent some time thinking about it, and the great thing about JKR is that she lets you expect the unexpected. I never expected the Weasley twins to die. None them, except Ron. The death of Fred just makes you realize how great he really was. For me, anyways. I really love the character of Fred! Have an amazing day! :) -bri

The Aliens by Midnight Storm

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: The Second Wizarding War is at its peak. What does it look like to an observant seven-year-old Muggle boy?
Aliens are invading, I know they are. Aliens that use sticks to hurt and kill people.

This is so sad. The little boy is so innocent, and his idea of what is going on is cute and sad at the same time.

There She Is by Half_BloodPrincess

Summary: There she is. Right there, laying on the bed next to me.
Reviewer: MagicMandy Signed
Date: 01/12/11 Title: Chapter 1: Right There.

'i' is rodolphus lestrange, 'he' is voldemort, 'she' is bellatrix, and 'it' is the dark mark. I'm glad you wrote a story from rodolphus's pov , because he is always forgotten. Most of the story seems very accurate to me, except for one thing: why would voldemort ever share a bed with both rodolphus and bellatrix?

Author's Response: I imagine that Voldemort might have shared their bed when he looked like the handsome Tom Riddle. Considering how freaky Voldemort already is, I don't see it as a big stretch of the imagination that he would be more interested in weird things like sharing their bed. Also, I believe that forcing his followers to let him into their marital beds would be another show of control over them. Thank you for the review :)

When I saw the description, I thought it would be a bit of a cliche, but it actually isn't. It's actually pretty interesting, and I look forward to the next chapter

Author's Response: Thanks! I am vehemently opposed to stereotypes and cliches. Hopefully you won't see any of those here... hopefully.

A Second Chance by Dracosgirl1992

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Draco Malfoy never thought he would get s second chance. But after he receives a letter inviting him to finish his education at Hogwarts, he is thrilled, but still scared of the reception he will get. He thinks he will be all alone.

Astoria Greengrass makes sure this is not the case.

As the year goes on, Draco and Astoria get closer and closer, and Draco realises that maybe he does deserve a Second Chance...

This seems like a pretty good story so far. However, I noticed one little problem: Draco seems a bit OOC because of his somewhat low self-esteem.

Author's Response: I can see what you mean, I will try to rectify this. I think I made Draco the way he is because of the way he seems to be acting in the Deathly Hallows, he isn't as confident as he is in previous books etc. But I can see where you're coming from. I'm going to try and make Astoria the reason he gets his confidence back you see :)

Unexpected by Gmariam

This was a clever and enjoyable fic. I loved the style in which it was written. It was a little hard to follow in some parts, but it wasn't that bad.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, although I do feel bad it was hard to follow at times. Having heard it so clearly in my head, it's not a problem for me, but I can totally see how it would be tricky for someone who is not in my head, lol. It was still fun to write this way, though. Thanks so much for reading it and thanks again for the lovely review! ~Gina :)
