So sweet! :) I loved the scarf, especially.

Playing It Straight by DeadManSeven

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Cho's last year was going to be different. She was going to focus on school. She was going to play Quidditch. She was not going to get involved with rebellions, or boys. She was not going to be distracted by anything.

And then came Katie Bell.

I need to tell you, I loved this story. :) You have just made me a Cho/Katie shipper for sure!

What I really loved about this story was how their relationship developed. A lot of the femmeslash out revolves around whining about the characters' one-sided relationship, but this story was nothing like that. It was a breath of fresh air, and just beautifully written. Bravo!

Author's Response: When I set out to write this story, I had it in mind that I was going to write about the development of a relationship rather than the hardships it endures, since that part is glossed over so often. I also thought, since the story I was planning on telling would be pretty straightforward, that I would tell it with a very non-standard couple yet try and keep it fitting into the canon as best I could. I wasn't very focused on Cho and Katie being together before writing this, either, but now I'm quite partial to the idea.

My Secret, My Hell, My Burden by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

What could possibly be a higher form of madness than falling in love with someone who does not share your feelings? Well, for starters, if that person happens to be your best friend, then that certainly qualifies.

Albus Potter has fallen prey to this quandary, and through a self-exploratory journey, he learns much about what it’s like to love and what it’s like to lose himself.

This placed second in the February Great Hall Month of Love Challenge - First Love.

This fic was nominated for a 2010 Quicksilver Quill Award - Best Same-Sex Pairing.

This was very good! I really enjoyed the dynamics between Scorpius and Albus Severus, and although the ending was sad, I really enjoyed it. It showed more of the harsh reality of life, versus the fairytale ending where it turns out everyone is gay and it all works out perfectly. I liked it, keep writing.

Author's Response:

I'm all about the harsh realities. I leave the happy endings for the fluff writers; I prefer to portray the darker sides of reality. Plus, Albus and Scorpius are two of my favourite characters, and their dynamic possibilities are nearly endless.

I'm glad you enjoyed the story. Thanks for the review.

What Lies Behind by C_A_Campbell

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Winner of the 2011 QSQ Award for Best Dark/Angsty One-shot! It is true what they say about your life flashing before your eyes just before you die. As Theodore Nott, Death Eater like his father before him, stands on the battlefield in what is surely Hogwarts and his final hours, he remembers all that lays behind him: his father, the Dark Lord, the one girl he ever loved, and the thing he has forced himself to forget.

But you remember, don't you, Theodore?

Please tell me you remember me.

Definitely one of THE best fics I've ever read. This was so beautiful and dramatic, and I just love a happy ending. :) Well done!

This is a beautiful story! It was, actually, the first femmeslash I ever read, but I have forgotten to review it until now. This story was well put-together and done very nicely, but the ending was quite sad. I would quite like to see some more femmeslash from you, you write it so well!

Author's Response: Hey! I am glad you liked it. It was my first time writing femmeslash. I am doing more of it in the near future (with Dominique as my main character). :D Thanks for the lovely review.

The Missing Hands by Hotrav

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

Molly Weasley seems to have a heart big enough to accept anyone in need of love. It doesn't matter if the person is an abused little boy named Harry or her son's always present 'friend' Hermione, Molly will mother them.

Perhaps her need to reach out is caused by what should be present, but is not. The Missing Hands...

This was a really interesting story. It was neat to see a different side of Molly, one where she's depicted as more of a well-rounded person rather than the over-protective mother other authors just slide her off as. That was a creative take on Fabian and Gideon's past, too. It's definitely worth thinking about that they probably had romantic lives as well.

Nice story, it's definitely a fresh breath of air from the over-done stories with the same plot. Good concept, and well executed.

Bleed by hestiajones

This is a sequel to Cut

Disclaimer:

1) This is not J.K.Rowling.

2) I chose Turner's first name after a villain from Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl series, but the character is not entirely based on her.

3) One of Gimli's lines from Return of the King will appear in the last chapter. No, it is not "There's plenty enough for the both of us. May the best dwarf win." Yes, it means I have finished writing the whole story. :)

You are the queen of femmeslash!

I really love this story, especially for the characterisation. I love Maudie for her spunkiness and Dom for keeping her morals. Aah, but Lakshmi!!

This is really great, and I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Ahh, but Lakshmi! :D I am happy to know you are reading this and enjoying it, too! "Queen of Femmeslash" is a title I'd gladly own, but alas! A lot of my friends are amazing at it. :) The next chapter might take some time as I intend to rewrite quite a bit, but it will definitely be up before next weekend. Thank you for taking the time to review. I will be writing more Femmeslash once my exams are over.
