Hmm... Let's see... What might the HPFF world want to know about me?

Well, I'm a happy teenager (I know, rare) who enjoys writing. For a long time, I would write often, but never completed anything as I would be bored by my characters and/or plots. Then I started reading HPFF, and got hooked... So I started writing my own fan fics as a "writing exercise." I absolutely adore all of JKR's characters, and I am all about the characters! (Character studies are kind of my thing.)

Fun fact: my all-time favorite HP character is Ginny Weasley. Luna is up there on the list, as well as James Potter Sr. James has become one of my favorites through a lot of fan fiction reading; the person fans have made him become is someone I would easily fall in love with!

As well as writing, Iove art. Um... Yeah I actually go to school for art. I do drawing and painting, preferring a normal graphite pencil to anything else. I have started getting into Harry Potter fan art, switching between doing realistic character studies and doing contour line drawings filled in with colored pencil (much less realistic, but no less fun!)

Another overwhelming passion of mine is horseback riding, strangely enough. I've been riding for years, and I currently compete, train a wee bit, teach lessons to kids, and scoop a heck of a lot of manure! I love it, I'd never trade it for anything, and my penname is actually the registered name of my last lease horse :)

So, that's just about me, and I hope you enjoy my fics. Keep in mind that I've never actually taken a writing class before, and all that I've learned is from books and online tips, haha!

A Few Detentions and A Story by LaneTechFreshie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: James Potter: Marauder. Lily Evans: Prefect. They're both seventh years at Hogwarts. They're also about to have a pretty interesting year--complete with a few detentions, pranks, confusion, and laughter--in which they get through school, make some trouble and maybe, just maybe, sort out their feelings for each other.

Thanks to all you who have made it possible for this story to be in the Top Tens. It was a very happy moment when I first saw my story on the list, and I love being able to go back and see it there now. Still. Yay!

Throughout the latter half of 2010, and the first half of 2011, I re-edited this story. The changes were mostly to fix stray (and annoying) grammar and spelling errors, but also to rework some plot points in an effort to stay truer to canon. I also updated the style; having written this story so long ago, my writing has definitely developed (and I would say gotten better), so I edited to reflect that. (I apologize for the errors that were in the story before all this editing. I found them immensely distressing when I reread my chapters. Heartbreaking, really.)

Big “thank yous” go to the three people who helped edit/nitpick the first edition of this novel: violagirl, fairiesandcream, and Omagus.
And yes, this story is up on Fanficition.net under the penname: Io.Sono.Emilia.
Of course, as a disclaimer, I’m not JK Rowling. The Potterverse does not belong to me, but I am in it and love it.

I don't have anything against they way Lily's parents died, but JKR did say in an interview once that James and Lily's parents died "non-sinister deaths" (or something like that), to eliminate Harry's grandparents deaths from the plot. I read that to mean that they weren't murdered, but to each his own :) lovely story!

Author's Response: Huh.... Honestly, I've never read that. So, while I knew James's parents just died, I didn't know anything about Lily's parents. It's really not my favorite thing about the story, but..... Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked it.

Neville Longbottom and the Philosopher's Stone by Sonorus

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: "Yes Neville," said Dumbledore, "it was Voldemort who came to your parents’ house that night nearly ten years ago. It was Voldemort who killed them. And it was Voldemort who then turned his wand on you.”

The ultimate 'what if?'. What if Voldemort had chosen Neville rather than Harry as the boy meant by the prophecy? What if Neville was the Boy-Who-Lived and Harry was the "might have been"?

Join Neville as he faces some familiar and less familiar challenges of his first year at Hogwarts in the first of an epic seven story series mirroring the original novels.

Story now complete. Book 2 is on its way!

I'm really excited that you're writing this. I just had a little epiphany, though: If Neville was the one Voldemort chose, then Snape would (under the circumstances presented in JKR's books) never have turned to Dumbledore's side. Snape was in love with Harry's mother, and left the Death Eaters in an effort to save her life. If her life was never threatened by Voldemort, Snape would have no reason to be Dumbledore's man. However, it could be that his love for Lily could change his mind anyway. Great story!

Taxicab Conversations by cto10121

To Move On by Elphin

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: After Voldemort’s destruction, Harry is left to deal with what he has lost after all those years of fighting, and more importantly, deal with what others have lost. Now that he and Ginny can finally be together, they must attempt to pick of the pieces and start over.

This is just a short look at the day after the Battle of Hogwarts.

Hmmm... It's an amusing scenario, but I sort of feel like it left me hanging. I would not have pictured this scene to be the emotional reunion between Harry and Ginny. Perhaps a slight alteration of the story and this would belong in the humor section.

I just finishd reading your completed story, and I have to tell you, I'm really impressed. I really enjoy your writing style; it's easy to read, it's detailed, and its actually quite similar to JKR, which helped me to believe that this really was the same world as Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I also really enjoyed the pure "teenagerness" of the characters, which was amusing and humorous as well as part of the plot. This is easily the best Lily/James fan fic that I've read, and I don't think I'll be reading any more of Lily/James because I'll always have this story stuck in my head! You've accomplished something I've always wanted to do: you completed a novel that you can be proud of. I hope you keep this story in printed form so you don't lose it in the future!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked how it was written and enjoyed my writing style--and I'm especially glad you liked how I wrote the characters, their "teenagerness," because that was one of my goals when I first started this story--to write the characters well and to write them as they are: kids.

Summary: I hadn't seen him since I was eleven, but he had a rather distinct look about him. It was hard, after all, to forget that black hair that stuck up in the back and the bright green eyes behind those glasses. And the scar — I had always thought it neat to have a scar shaped like a lightening bolt.

Missing Moments in Time by mudbloodproud

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: In the world of Harry Potter, there is a love story that has not been told. That is the love story of Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin. In this series of one-shots, you will explore a few of the many special moments in their lives together. Each of these Missing Moments is a glimpse into turning points in their life together.

I do not own anything you recognise in these one-shots. It all belongs to J.K. Rowling. I am just thankful to be able to play in her world for a little while.

I re-read this all the time. I simply love it. It fits the Arthur we know from the books so perfectly, and it gives us a look into each of the relationships between all four young adults, without Harry, Ginny, Ron, or Hermione directly telling the story. So well done. Love it!

Author's Response: Thank you. This (as I've said in other review replies) was the first story I told from a first person perspective. Arthur seemed to be the ideal candidate as a silent, but frighteningly good observer. -N-

I definitely cried reading this. I feel like you understand JK's character's so well that you can put their stories into your own words, and its so believable! There are fan fics that create scenarios and plots that totally clash with the already created Potter world, but yours just fit in perfectly, and I almost feel like JK herself could have written this. It's got a great hint of humor mixed in with the beautiful, poetic love. Thank you thank you thank you for writing this.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! That's such high praise--I'm glad you think I understand the characters well and the story fits into the Harry Potter universe :)

Wow! This was really interesting to read. When I read the description, I assumed it would be Snape and Lily, but this was totally original. Well done :)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Yes I did try to do something original in this... initially the fic was based more around Tom, but then I realised that I could make the other character Myrtle and she really fitted the part. You have potential as a writer, but I don't see much how this fits into the harry potter world. I wish you'd have chosen different names than "Bella" and "Edward" too. Nice try, though. If you'd added a little more wizarding flair and chosen different names, it might have been stronger.

Author's Response: This one-shot is a spin-off from my chaptered story, "Bella Rosa," in the pre-Hogwarts category. Since the beginning, I've called Bellatrix Black "Bella." I haven't used Bellatrix unless an older family member is talking to her. When I named the announcer "Edward" I was thinking of my first dog, a wonderful Golden Retriever we named Edward Trent-Lestat. This was in 1993, long before anyone dreamed of a universe called "Twilight." I had no idea that "Edward" was conjuring up images of Edward Cullen until a friend of mine pointed it out. You're right--that was a poor choice of names. I wasn't thinking. I'm glad you kind of liked the story. It was at least fun to write:D

This was cute... but do you realize that Rose and Al are cousins? As in, blood relatives? So as much as I love the idea of the story, I couldn't get over the weirdness of that. Sorry. Good job, though!

Author's Response: Yes, I do know they're cousins, and because they're cousins, I got the feeling they were really good friends, seeing how Albus was fretting about not finding them in the Epilouge of DH. I was thinking, after seventeen years of friendship, it might have grown to be a bit more.
