I found this yesterday and read it straight through. It's absolutely fantastic! Fred, George and Albus in particular are so spot on I wonder if you aren't JKR herself indulging in the world of fanfiction! Ha! Really, your story is so wonderful, and I hope to see an update soon!

Author's Response: So glad! A new reader! Thank you so much, aaaaaand I've updated! :D

Just finished Chapter 18. Oh my goodness. I get so wrapped up in each chapter that they take me forever to read, and I will have to log back into the site before I can continue on!

First I have to say that I am sorry I did not read this sooner. Silly me thought there was no way Tom Riddle could be accurately portrayed romantically. Not possible, right? So wrong.

You have done such a fantastic job fleshing him out yet keeping him true to his original intentions. I absolutely love his brooding, obsessive nature. And I laughed out loud at the image of his invisible self kicking Greg around.

You've done fantastically, and I am so glad it is finished because I don't believe I'd have the patience to wait! So excuse me while I spend another late night with Keedie and Tom! :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much, I'm thrilled you decided to read this story :D

Oh goodness, here I am reviewing yet again. You are making me like Tom Riddle way too much. It is very unnatural. Haha! I love the intensity of this chapter! Perhaps I'm going to have to review after every one at this point!

I love the cliffie at the end. Very 'Riddle saves the day'. In a good way, of course. Also, I'm sure I enjoy it so much because I can simply click 'Next' and see what happens! ;)

Author's Response: Thanks so much, do keep reviewing and I hope you enjoy until the end

Oh you are a horrible, terrible person!

I'm kidding, of course. It was fantastic. So great. I never thought fan fiction would evoke such emotion from me! Is it absolutely silly for me to hate Tom Riddle less now? Bravo. You're brilliant!

Author's Response: Thank you, so glad you finished and renjoyed the work :D

I believe someone mentioned in an earlier review being set back in their prep for finals week. I would have to agree. My future O Chem grade does not thank you! I, however, do - because this story is my absolute favorite.

Author's Response: Thanks you.
I really enjoy writing this, and I’ll continue to update as regularly as possible. Good luck with your exams.

I usually don't read the poetry on MNFF, but your summary caught my eye. Lovely job. I think you cauptured the sorrow and the resolve and the hope all so well. My particular favorite:

It shaped my life, my one mistake. One tragic day left such lasting ache. But it was long ago, an aging loss. I'll see her when the veil I cross.

Hope you continue to post more!

Author's Response: Thank you for your wonderful review. Yes, I was going exactly for all of that... Dumbledore's pain, and his resolve in his plan, and most of all his undieing hope. The end especially I wanted to feel like Fawke's song inspired, both melancholy and hopeful.

I'm glad you liked that verse. I wanted the poem, like the book did, to show Dumbledore as flawed and human, and to mention his pain regarding Ariana. It would be interesting to see him meet her again in the "beyond place".

I will definitely post more. More are in fact already in queue, so be sure to look for them :)

I have to say, I was glad to see more poetry posted by you. I love the style of this one. It makes my heart ache for Snape. The chapter on his memories was by far the best in Deathly Hallows. Actually, it was probably my favorite chapter in the entire series. Keep up the great writing!

Author's Response: It means so much to hear that you look forward to my work. I am glad you liked this one, it was a new style for me. And I agree totally that Snape's memories were the highlight of the series.

Another one! This gave me chills. I love Sirius...forever loyal to his friends. This was great.

Author's Response: Thank you :) Yes, Sirius is a fabulous character, and couldn't have been played better by Gary Oldman. He was simply superb in the role, amazingly transitioning from crazed lunatic to sexy role model in what seemed like the blink of an eye, which both being entirely believable. Of course the makeup artists have to take some credit for that, but it still took immense skill to pull off the acting and Gary Oldman might be one of the rare few who could do it so well. Perfect casting there.

I almost did not click this, because I just really have no feelings in regard to Michael Corner, but the way you've written him has me very intrigued.

Great job so far, I'm looking forward to the next chapter. - AG

Author's Response:

Well, hello!

I make it a point to make people care about characters who are otherwise a nonentity. Everyone has a story to tell, and the ones no one else takes are the ones I want the most. Somehow, I end up with Ravenclaws and Slytherins a lot, but their stories can be fascinating in their own right. I'm glad you have thus far found this one interesting. Thank you for reading!

Oh, I am loving the speedy updates! And Michael's grumpy disposition. I solemnly swear to never judge a character before their story ever again! :) ~ AG

Author's Response:

I'm glad I could change your mind about Michael. He's always been a bit of a dark one in canon, as both Harry and Ron found him a bit 'creepy'. He's even cast in the films as 'creepy boy'. It's hard to preserve that but still make him a protagonist, but I think the gruff Healer mantle works for him.

The updates will continue to be speedy (new one tomorrow). The story is finished and just waiting to be posted. Hopefully you will continue to have your expectations turned upside-down. Much Stuff will Happen later in the fic, so here's hoping you will keep liking what you see. :)

Alsdjflajijfa baahhh! I don't even know how to convey what I am thinking into words right now, so please excuse the discombobulated review to follow.

I do tend to stray from teacherstudent relationships, as I find them either unrealistic or cringe-worthy. You have turned the whole concept on its head.

Oliver is wonderful. You've given him such a real maturity through his goal of taking care of his mother, that his outbursts and hotheadedness regarding Quidditch aren't irksome to me at all the way I sometimes find them to be in the books (Whoops -- is it a sin to say Oliver Wood worked my nerves a bit?)

You've written Charity with such understandable vulnerability that it is easy to see her begin to harbor a crush for Oliver. Though I have to admit that I briefly championed a Remus/Charity twist.

In short, this was wonderful. You have so much intricacy crammed into five parts that I feel I just read a novel's worth of information! I even felt like I learned from her Muggle Studies class! Great job, yet again.

--AG

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely review. I'm glad you didn't find the student/teacher concept to be too icky because it's one of the reasons I tend to shy away from it. (That and they always seem to involve Snape). Charity/Remus is something i've thought about in the past and there's a chapter in one of my chaptereds where they become close.

Oh, I do like Oliver, but I agree he's so obsessed in the books with Quidditch that sometimes I want to shake him. But I now have fairly secure canon for his motivations which involves his parents, and so I suppose I like him a lot more now - ha.

Thank you again for the lovely review. ~Carole~

Ah, it hurt my heart, but this was very good. Very plausible for Harry to end up this way. Everyone was so true to character. I especially enjoyed Aberforth uncharacteristically imparting wisdom while still referring to Albus as a 'righteous arsehole'. Ha-- it was very Aberforthy of him.

Very well done. And while it was sad, I also believe that Harry will always stand up again, so the end left me optimistic. That's always a good thing. :)

--AG

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review! Yes, it's a bit sad, but then the end did what it was supposed to do, which was leave things a bit optimistic and hopeful. Glad you liked Aberforth, he's always fun to write. ;) But I'm glad you found it plausible, since a lot for post-war Harrys carry on just fine, or end up even worse. Hopefully I found a believable balance. Thank you so much for reading this, I appreciate the review! ~Gina :)

Ugh - reliving the pain of my first unrequited love right now. Very well done. I love the relationship you've given Teddy and Lily, and the way you show how much love he has for her, even if it isn't the kind she is hoping for. I really enjoyed reading this.

--AG

Author's Response:

I think we've all been there, although it makes it more awkward when it's someone who not only feels the same way, but is in a place in life where they never will (happily married to someone else, for instance). I wanted things to still be good between them, but I think both of them know that something's been lost that they won't get back because of this. Lily was perfectly willing to never tell him, but he had to go and insist. :(

Anyway, thanks for reading. :)

Date: 04/13/13 Title: Chapter 1: Troth

I just love your writing style. Your words are always thoughtfully chosen and beautifully strung together. I really enjoy the post-Hogwarts Lavender you've created, and appreciate that she is a flawed yet intelligent young woman rather than just an older version of the giggly, 'Won Won' simpering teenager. This small snippet from her adult life was a very interesting read, and I'd like to see more in future! My favorite thing in fanfic is when a story can make me care about a character in a way that the books wouldn't allow, and this story did just that. Very good.

--AG

Author's Response: Thank you. I hope that there is still an element of the giggly teen in her, although I've put her through a lot. Despite the fact that I can guarantee that my Lavender stories get a lot less reads than some of my other stuff, I'll keep writing about her. -N-
