Summary:
Sunshine spilled down onto the small grassy spot through a window in the tall trees. She stood a couple of yards back, staring at eleven letters cut into rock. It was beautiful, and yet, to Hermione’s eyes, nowhere near a worthy enough tribute for a life so full of rambunctious joy.

Why did Fred have to die! I tried to avoid thinking about it when it happened in the book, but your story had me bawling like a baby. I'm glad my roommate wasn't here, because I'm not sure I could have explained why I was crying so hard :)
I am very impressed in how accurate George is in this story. He can still make others smile- he's not ok yet, but he will be in time, I really love that the "sparkle of mischief" in his eye hasn't died for good.
I can understand where Hermione's coming from, feeling like she doesn't deserve to be hurting, but that she missed out on what could have been by being too uptight.
I think the subject of grief was handled very well, staying true to both the characters and reality. And as always, I love the way you bring the characters alive, till I can really see and feel them.

Things change, however, when she reluctantly accepts an invitation from her new step-father to join him in Diagon Alley for the day. Chance meetings and awkward conversations abound.

I have to admit, I have a ridiculously big, silly grin on my face right now, and it has nothing to do with how far past my bedtime it is :)
This is absolutely adorable, and makes me root whole-heartedly for Kenley and her happiness.
Author's Response: Now you are just trying to get on my good side. :) Hehe. I probably get more excited to see a new review for this story than any other I've written, though I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's more personal, since Kenley is my own creation, rather than one borrowed from Rowling. Thanks so much for taking a chance on an OC story, and leaving me the review. I love this, I really really do. I was never as hearty a fan of Romione, but I think I am now. You so perfectly captured the somewhat self-contradictory nature of a woman scorned while staying so true to the story and the characters. Wow, I am so impressed.
- The line that got me: "So I just sit on my bed wrapped in the blanket that smells like you, and I stare at that murderous, life-wrecking locket, wondering where I would hide if I were another damn Horcrux." My heart seriously turned over when I read that, I can picture it so vividly.
Keep the amazing stories coming please :)
Author's Response: Oh, lovely, another review from you... so glad you found my author page! :) And if I've swayed you even a bit more toward Romione, then my work here is done. Hehe, my die-hard OTP. Love, love, love them. I still intend to write the second half of this fic, but at this rate, I have no idea when it might appear. Thanks for sharing what part you liked the best... Wow, I am so impressed. I just started reading some of the fan fictions, but yours really stand out. Even in this short piece you have made Ginny come alive, her struggles, her strength, and what she's facing. It actually made me tear up, and I wasn't expecting that.
