The thought processes are maybe a little overdone, but it's a good, realistic progression from the events in the book, to what would have happened, but not been discussed later. I can definitely see Harry's slightly overdeveloped sense of honor making him pull away like that, but I can also see him offering to come down and warm her up after months with no "romantic" activities, so that part's quite good. Next chapter??

I think it was a good idea not to try to make the language in-period, would be distracting and accomplish little.

Taking Direction by WeasleyMom

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: What if the characters in the Harry Potter films were portrayed—not by actors—but by the book versions of themselves, as created by Rowling? How might things unfold on that set? What would the characters think of the changes made from the stories they’d already lived out… to the ones written for the script?

This fic is a series of one-shots, posted as chapters, each from the perspective of a different character who is dealing with the changes occurring between the book and the script.

Holy Movie Canon, Batman! This fic won the 2011 Quicksilver Quill Award for Best Chaptered Humor Story. Thanks so, so much!

It is worth noting that, like the Sectumsempra ear, it is possible that since the fire was set by dark magic, it was impossible to extinguish it directly. The fact that the overall structure of the house was not damaged indicates that this is correct; that the fire was entirely magical not natural. The thing that annoys me more about this scene is that Greyback is capable of a sufficiently good Shield Charm to stop Harry's spell.

Author's Response: Hmm, I guess that's possible, but there's no indication it's anything but regular fire. They certainly try to control it at the beginning of the scene when Harry first runs out of the house. Fiendfire seems to have a mind of its own, and is extremely agressive and out of control. IT's not pictured as anything like that in the film, but you could be right. Either way, they should have either addressed the fact that the fire was undistinguishable, because without that, the bunch of them still look ridiculous holding their wands passively watching it burn.

Can't tell what you thought of the fic, but I certainly appreciate you reading and reviewing! :)

Heiress of Evil by voldiexx

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Whew, those thirteen years were nasty, but Voldemort's back and better than ever. He's got plenty to do, consolidating a power base, punishing traitors, and not letting the haters get him down, but he's spared some time to look over the custody agreement he signed fourteen years ago...

Annabel Curry wanted to spend the summer getting a tan, perfecting her Cheering Charms, and ensnaring Terry Boot. Instead, she's spending it with her dad the mass murderer and his unshaven goons. Oh yeah, and the shower doesn't work, AND NO ONE BUT HER SEEMS TO CARE.

First dates. Sparkly nail polish. Magical plumbing fiascos. Some heartwarming father-daughter moments. And some not-so-heartwarming ones.

Excellent! Absolutely hilarious! Update!!!

We Happy Few by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: "Neither can live while the other survives."

She often thought on that - ever since she heard it in Harry's hushed tones. Maybe before that even. Not in the exact sense, of course - she would not claim the powers of a Seer (Merlin forbid). But something close to it, maybe - a strange, half-formed thought; ethereal and not quite tangible.

She sometimes tried to think about what it meant - she spent many hours puzzling over it, in fact. She always was one to think of all the possible outcomes. And think she did. And imagined and theorised and wondered and dreamt.

Never once did she imagine this.

This makes a point that, if remembered by leaders throughout history, could have saved a lot of lives: sometimes the consequences of continuing a war are worse than those of either side winning it. If Voldemort had won, they could have simply left Britain, escaped to other parts of the world able to defend themselves. But it went on and on...very dark, but powerful. I'd take issue with some of the dialogue, people not really talking that way, but it's clearly symbolic and I get that.

Kiss by HalfASlug

"Jolly good show!" :)
As for your comment, when has Ron ever been sensitive? (I mean that in the best possible way.)

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! Glad you liked it! Haha, true, but this would be something else.
