A Ron/Hermione fanatic from Finland. I started reading the books after DH came out because I go temporarily insane when I don't know how a story ends.

A Perfect Christmas by Gmariam

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Harry is once again enjoying Christmas at the Burrow, as he takes a short break from his hunt for the Horcruxes to spend time with family and friends. When Harry and Ron Apparate to Diagon Alley to do some shopping, they are surprised to learn from Fred and George that Victor Krum has begun working at the Ministry of Magic. Returning to the Burrow, Ron is upset to learn Hermione had lunch with Victor, and he questions his relationship with her. Ginny helps Ron understand and plan his next move. But when Hermione arrives, they fight once more over the Bulgarian Quidditch player. Will Ron be able to put aside his feelings of jealousy and insecurity and finally tell Hermione how he feels?

This is a rather long, very fluffy one-shot for Ron and Hermione and their perfect Christmas.

Nice story :)
The bit about Hermione actually touching Hollywood seemed surreal to me, but with magic and everything you never know

I'll Never Let Go by bubblegumpinkhair

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Hermione decides that she's done with Ron and his constant want to pick fights with her. Not thinking that things could get any worse, Ron tells her how he really feels. Cute little One Shot form Ron's POV. Definitely a little fluffy.

Excerpt:

Her eyes widened and she opened her mouth to say something. When nothing came out, I removed my hand from her chin, and I felt my face flushing scarlet again.

How could I have been so stupid?

“I understand,” I heard myself saying, but deep down I knew I never would.

I think it's perfect that they fight and then tell each other how they feel.

Admiration by lily_evans34

Summary: The day after the Last Battle as Ron counts his losses, Hermione reminds him what was worth fighting for in the first place.

A nice snapshot. I like how it's easy for them to acknowledge what they feel for each other. After the deaths and drama it would feel wrong for them to continue dancing around one another. Not to say that they won't argue and fight often.

Author's Response: That's very kind of you, thank you! And I definitely agree. It's not likely that their dynamic would change much in the long-run, but immediately after the war I can't see them continuing to ignore their feelings about one another.

Sometimes it seems that fanfics and any "light" literature is almost exclusively written by women about men that say stuff like " I have loved you for 8 years, but I always felt intimidated by your beauty and courage, could you ever consider going out on a date with me". It's refreshing to read stories where men have feelings and they acknowledge it, but they still sound real. Though it could just be that I've lived in Finland for almost all my life. After persistent questioning my husband told me that he proposed because "I felt like proposing".
I think I've written this before, but I love these male characters that are sweet and emotional and mature, but still don't talk for two hours with their girlfriend about what their first kiss felt like. It' very refreshing and in my experience very rare. I also consider it a wonderful talent.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
I will admit that there are a great many fanfics where certain characters seem to be a lot more romantic than they were in the books. For me, the love and affection is in the little things, not any grand declarations. Perhaps it's a British thing, but I'd advise my daughters to be very wary of a bloke who was prepared to make a public declaration of love. I certainly wouldn't trust him. :-D
I hope that Arthur's love (and that of those two inept blokes, Ron and Harry) is obvious in thisstory.

Of Slayers and Champions by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

After it was all said and done, Harry wanted a sandwich. However, Ron knew that what he wanted was far deeper and complex and maddening and insufferable. But could Hermione ever forgive him for leaving her behind? Could he ever forgive himself?

This story was nominated for a 2011 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Canon Romance.

Way to go Ron! Nice to see a Ron with selfconfidence. Well written piece :)

Author's Response:

Though he's far from my favourite character, I always feel like Ron acts and then thinks about what he does and says a split second later, which adds a level of self-deprecation in his own mind due to his almost immediate awareness of it, as well as sparking indecision as to how to proceed. What I think his bout with the Horcrux gave him in DH was the ability to see himself -- inside and out, good and bad -- and accept that these things would always be a part of him and make him who he is. Only then could he learn to accept himself and believe that he was worthy enough for the blessings in his life. In this, he is definitely a fascinating character.

Aside from a fluffy thattaboy, this story was written to prove a point to a friend that, while I have no attachment to Ron at all, I can still dig around inside his head. I'm glad that you enjoyed the fruits of my endeavour. :) And, lastly, thank you for reading!

Way to go! A cliffhanger. Please update soon. I love this story, the characters are just right. And we visited Alnwick in September and fell in love. The back drop to you story is absolutely brilliant!!!

Author's Response: Thanks.
Alnwick, is one of the finest market towns in my part of the world (although Morpeth, Hexham and Berwick might disagree). Setting this story in an area I know well has its advantages.

The Question by Northumbrian

Summary: Ron is on his way to ask Hermione a question. He thinks that Hermione knows everything, but will she be able to answer this question?

It's very romantic, which makes it completely true. Any story with a Ron acting like DonJuan ( not the multiple girlfriends, but the always knows the right way to charm a girl) for me just isn't compatible with canon. Anyway this story is in a way much more romantic than other versions of this same scene simply because I can picture my husband acting in the same way. (We were sitting on a sofa right before he proposed, so he didn't fall)

Author's Response: Thanks. Ron is not great at romance, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t be romantic in his own way. On and Hermione (in my opinion) both suffer from low self-esteem and doubts, but both can see the other’s strengths. This catalogue of Ron’s anxieties was remarkably easy to write. -N-
