Not a bad start, because first chapters are just first chapters, its suppose to draw the readers in and to tell them a glimpse of what is to come. Well like the other person suggested. Maybe you should get a beta, or...just double check your spelling. The story plot is fine, its just the spelling and slight grammar. I hope this helps, but don't stop.
