Yay!! An update of Strangers :) You just made my day!

Lovely chapter, I like the insights into the complexities of friendships between witches and wizards and muggles who don't know the truth.

I also particularly liked Mike's comment on 'Harry's one second of fame', I did giggle a little at his expense...

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
I'm working on more Strangers, and a couple of my other long chaptered stories, because I want t get at least one of them finished. Friendship with Jacqui is certainly a complicating factor in Ginny's life. Mike's misconceptions are great to write. Sometimes, however, he says something sensible.

Yay!! An update on Strangers :D :D Made my day!
Although it ended on a cliffhanger again, which just makes me want to ask you for more, a la Oliver Twist.

Fab chapter Neil- I loved it, and good call on the accents/ Yorkshirism. I'd use breadcake (I'm from Sheffield) but I've never heard it anywhere else in the country!

Author's Response:
Thanks. I hope to update this one very soon.

In the very first chapter Jacqui identified Ginny’s accents, and said she was good at them. She’s been doing it ever since, but her knowledge of breadcakes being a Sheffieldism may be her finest hour.

I love Strangers (and, no pressure, of course, but I'd love to hear more soon... ;) ) One nit-pick; a score is 20 isn't it? and 'a trio of half dozens plus a duo is 5x6, or 30... Otherwise, I love the chapter and the story as a whole (and all your other stories, as I always say :/) x

Author's Response: Hi
A trio of half-dozens is 3x6=18, add a duo, and you get twenty. As Christmas is approaching, I'll do my very best to grant your wish. check back tomorrow. :-D

Centuries by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:
Harry and Ginny reach their centuries. Life after one hundred years in ten one-hundred word scenes.

Nominated for: Best Canon Romance (One-shot) story - Quicksilver Quills 2012

Reviewer: GinevraMinerva Signed

I love it, whatever it is, it's beautiful and poignant and it made me cry. I particularly liked Harry's "No one lives for ever, I made sure of that." And Ginny's "She may be ancient but she's neither deaf nor daft"... They are perfectly true to both JKR's characters, and to yours. However, shouldn't James/Al/Lily be in their 70/80s by this point? Lily's reaction struck me as a little too "young", although perhaps I am too young to judge. I just imagine that, hard as it is for anyone, by the time you reach that age, death is less to be feared, and you expect it more, especially if her mother and Hermione are the only DA members left.

Author's Response: Thank you.
This was one of my more experimental pieces, and It was intended as a tearjerker, so I'm glad I succeeded. You're right, all three of the Potter kids will be in their seventies. Do they appear too young? I'm not sure. I don't think it's death they fear, but the loss. That may not come across.

James and Me by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:
Annabel is having a bad day. Her sudden and unexpected meeting with a face from her past is unlikely to improve matters.

This was Northumbrian of Ravenclaw House writing for Round Three of the 2012 Character Triathlon. This is now a longer chaptered story.

Nominated for: Best Original Character (Chaptered) story (for the narrator, Annabel) and Best Next Generation Story - Quicksilver Quills 2013

This is great, I love the way your canon binds itself together... I'm slightly confused as to how/why Rosie is at a muggle uni, but I have no doubt that you have a good reason for it. Hope to hear more soon!! :-)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
There's a partial reason given in chapter 2 (I think), but you'll find out more when Rose makes her appearrance.

Friends and Foes by Northumbrian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •

Tension's building!! Loved this update, seeing the different couples in their home life was simultaneously sweet and not-too-fluffy, given the plot development happening at the same time. Your characters are always so detailedly right, it's truly fantastic. Can't wait to hear more, and I really hope Theodore and Pansy haven't prevented Bletchley from picking up tomorrow morning's delivery!!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
I wanted to show the differences between Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny as couples while also moving the storyline forward. The next chapter will be entirely set in Cardiff, and you'll discover whether they capture Bletchley.

I know I reviewed this a couple of hours ago, but I'm having a horrifying epiphany!! The fugitives plan is for Millie Flynn at the how to be a witch shop in Newcastle to sell Daisy the love/hate dementor essence potion and try to get her and Dudley to kill Harry at Dudley's 21st... Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia are going to be horrified: Harry is ruining stuff with all these freaks again... I really hope I'm wrong. Or that Daphne helps the Aurors stop them before it gets to that.

Author's Response: Hi
Your epiphany deserves a reply of its own. There are some great ideas here, I wish I'd thought of some of them. At least one thing you've said is 100% correct. You don't want me to tell you which one, do you? That would spoil the fun.

M.I.T.: Entente Cordiale by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: A strange and seemingly inexplicable death in London's West End brings an unlikely collection of individuals together. Can Aurors Creevey and Cresswell, and Detective Chief Inspector Wood make any sense of the crime?

A Christmas present!!! Yay!!

Great chapter, as always. I love that Gabrielle became an Auror.

Merry Christmas, and thank you for the story!

Author's Response:
an accidental present, I intended to post this earlier, but life!

Gabi will feature a lot in the next two chapters.

Thanks, and happy new year.

Wow. That was heavy, and unexpected. Thanks for the update - it made my morning!

Author's Response: Thanks, the next chapter will be the last, although it won’t wrap everything up completely. -N-

Fantastic as always Neil! I love the characterisation of Harry as a proud father, and the link to the Saturday swimming that comes up in Strangers and James and Me. Your universe is so neatly tied together it's impossible not to like it.

I like the atmosphere of the meeting as well, and Martha seems sharp as steel! I hope we get to hear more from her perspective some day!

Thanks for the update.

Author's Response:
Thank you. Harry has made a couple of fleeting appearances in this story, and I wanted to hint at his Drakeshaugh home life. I try to keep all my stories connected, but not so much that they don't stand alone.

Martha has appeared in the background of a few of my stories as "the good PA", making certain Harry is organised, but keeping in the background, that's her job.

I''m so glad you're writing again! I hope 2016 goes better for you.

This is another fab chapter - I really enjoyed it, and I look forwards to the end of the story! I love the nostalgic looking back on a past relationship that couldn't work. All your characters always ring wholly true, it's wonderful.

Just a quick note on French, the French security guard says:
‘Oui, la belle Gabrielle,’ he told me. ‘Savez-lui que vous?’
The second half of that sentence makes little sense, I think you would be better with either "Vous la connaissez?" (Do you know her?) or "Elle vous connait?" (Does she know you?). I wasn't entirely clear which you were aiming for originally.

Now to go read the new chapter of James and Me!
xx

Author's Response: Thanks. I’m glad to be writing again, it’s my escape.
Thanks for the review, and for the corrections to my (pathetic) French. Two of my stories were translated into French, and the translator proved very useful to me. Now, unfortunately, she’s gone.
I’ll make the changes.

Bikini Girls on Brooms by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Harry and Ginny visit Portugal for sun, sea, sand, and something else.
Reviewer: GinevraMinerva Signed
Date: 11/14/14 Title: Chapter 1: Bikini Girls on Brooms

Great anniversary story! (I thought you were going to let Harry win for a while then!!)

I loved the idea of the Harpies letting Harry play (still not sure Gwengog would have allowed it :P) and Harry playing against Ginny is a great idea. The characterisation of Ginny fouling Harry and his being shocked, is perfect as well.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
Desperate times for the Harpies lead to unusual compromises. And think of the publicity they'll get. . I'm certain that Ginny will be able to make it up with Harry.
