A DESTINY FULFILLED by Wiccan

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Harry, Ron and Hermione survived the Final Battle with Voldemort and now work for the Ministry of Magic. Emotionally scarred, they are living their lives to the best of their abilities. Now, a new threat rears its ugly head. Lord Malfoy. This time they have a new friend to help in the battle between good and evil. Just like JKR, I start light and end up dark... lots of humor, intrigue and romance in between. This is a delightful romp through the Potterverse. Enjoy the ride! (Written Pre HBP)

Hey, NT, I really, really like how you've written this chapter. The subtle changes work to make everything flow nicely. It's going to be fun to read the rest.

Author's Response: Hey! Laudomia! Great to see you!!! Thank you for reading. I think you may find some subtle changes and some not so subtle. I'd like to think I have grown a bit since my first effort. Not as afraid of emotion now. Thank you for respomnding!

Poor Jessica! So much has happened to her so quickly. Dumbledore might have given her more time to get over the shocks (and the jetlag). She's in for it now. Keep those chapters coming!

Author's Response: Oh, she's a tough gal...she will handle it. So glad to see you! Next chapter was been in limbo for 10 days. I forgot to capitalize 'Muggle' once and was denied. Resubmitted yesterday, so it may take another week to appear. Story is finished with a new ending....MUCH better! and will be posted as soon as validated.

Interesting how Jessica's magic develops. The real estate agent was a stitch. (What an awful faux pas to show a house to the daughter of the victims! )Still, looks like Jessica has found her home. I hadn't realized how much she had in common with Harry before. Very touching chapter.

Author's Response: Glad you liked Phoebe...actually patterned on a real R/E woman...except for the clothes! She does have a lot in common with Harry and you'll see that she has a lot in common with Hermione when they start some serious conversations. Thanks for reading Laudomis. You know how I appreciate it.

I liked garrulous Hermione—wouldn’t you know she’d try to cram the entire history of magic into one lesson? Jessica seems perfectly understandable: Who wouldn’t want to go shopping after assuming her real form? This is wonderful.

Author's Response: Oh, our dear Hermione! You, we are into lecture mode here!

You really got Ollivander right; he is smug about his skills. How infuriating it would be for a witch to get it right—and with such an interesting wand—on the first try! I’m liking the interaction between Hermione and Jessica.

Author's Response: Tee Hee, I just loved ticking the old guy off. How dar she circumvent his authority!! Thanks for your revies!

Interesting backstory on Jessica. Those purebloods are nasty sorts. Happily, she's found a better crowd, especially the one with the green eyes...

Author's Response: Well, to win my challenge, I had to have her as a rich pure-blood...but to make her real, I could not allow her to enter into and be swayed by those hypocritical, biased boobs. She has to find her own way and her own friends.

Ah, trix, this chapter makes me want to scream, which means you written it brilliantly. The tragedy of it all hurts. As for Peter, I have to keep thinking that he gets his hand cut off--painfully--in the future as a "reward" for his services.

Author's Response: humph, he deserves a lot worse. thanks for the review, I'm so glad you like it!

This is so like a missing scene from the books. It's gripping (and tragic) because these wonderful people are marching relentlessly toward a grim future. You've made them very real. I want to yell, "Don't go that way!" but I have to read on...

Author's Response: I know! Don't you just want to shake them and say 'Don't pick Peter!' I'm glad you feel like it fits with the books well, I just had to write my version of events. With any luck we will know the truth from JKR soon enough! thanks for reviewing!

That's a very tongue in cheek story... Good job!

Author's Response: My tongue is often planted firmly in my cheek. Where my mind wanders I have no control.

Harry Potter and the Reflection of Darkness by Czarina

Rated: Professors •
Summary: It’s the summer after the battle at the Ministry of Magic and Harry has returned to Privet Drive, where he awaits the time when he can rejoin his friends. A certain redhead has begun to occupy his mind and awaken emotions he never knew he had. As he continues to mourn the loss of his godfather, Harry slowly begins to heal and may have discovered a way to communicate with Sirius. Can it be too good to be true? Takes place directly following OOTP. Primarily a H/G romance, with some R/Hr as well. Rated R for adult content in future chapters.

Excellent depiction of Harry, Ginny and Hedwig. Huskers said most of what I’m thinking, but I’ll add that I particularly liked Ginny’s waffling about sending her letter (I’ll do it! Er, no. I’ll have some tea. Maybe… I don’t know….), which is exactly what a girl goes through in those situations. That little shove from Hedwig was just right. Keep going; you’re doing well!

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it! I wanted to have Ginny hold back a little and be unsure of herself. This is someone she has liked for so long and has not returned her feelings. She wants to be there for him, but at the same time she wants to hold herself at a distance. This issue will come up again in future chapters. Thanks so much for the review.

Great story, SeaIsleWitch. Every bit of it rings true and shows how much thought you put into the subject. Congratulations on your award!

Author's Response: Thank you, Laudomia! I enjoyed researching and writing this collection of stories. Thank you for your helpful insights during the process, too! I am very happy (and quite shocked) for my story to have been given a nod by the "Wizengamot."

This is so intriguing! Fifteenth-century Venice...an unknown Black...the Flamels plus a dire prediction and a most curious painting. I've added your story to my favourites.

Author's Response: Thanks so much. ^_^ I always love it when someone does that.

Lovely sense of atmosphere and a succinct but rich unfolding of the characters’ relationships. I do wonder if a boy would be so generous as to give up his foster father without regret, but Asclepius just might be that unusual. This is such a good story—must read on.

Author's Response: You're right it is unusual especailly at that age. You managed to pick that up ^_^ but I figured people will easily dismiss that, because he was raised under unusual circumstances by an unusual adoptive parent ... so he might have adopted a centaur's demeanor when it comes to fate and destiny

My vocabulary is deserting me here. I keep reaching for words like amazing and brilliant, but they don’t really capture my regard for this story. The characters are engaging (I particularly like Orphine), the plot is compelling, and I enjoy the way you interpret myth, both Greek and HP ("No wands. Those staffs have no cores thus the channeling of magic was harder and requires more time and concentration.”). Another favorite line: “You can start anew, your own family,” I answered with a smile, admiring my own genius.” Bravo!

Author's Response: Unfortunately that snake won't be around much on the later part. Especially given the switching POV per chapter. Most of them won't understand him. I'm glad you liked this interpretation of HP and the myths. Thanks so much for your review. Truly appreciate it.

I'd never thought too much about Draco and Pansy, but you give them a lot of depth. Nice steamy-but-tasteful interaction, too. As for Snape and Pomfrey--I knew that! Good job.

Author's Response: Hi, Laudomia! I didn't think too much about Pansy & Draco's love life either, except for the fact that they were made for one another. Each gets what they deserve. (I've read a few D/G and D/H that were good, though.) Glad you approve of the, er, interaction. Snape must have a thing for while hats...Thanks for the kind words!

This chapter is so rich in feelings and detail it's easy to be there with the characters, which you've written so well. Good job.

This is such a pretty tale. I wish they could stay together and just keep enjoying themselves! Ah, but they're so clever, they'll surely find a way to stay close. Fine chapter.

Author's Response: Laudomia, you are so right. They are going to do whatever it takes to be together. Their passion cannot be denied. Thanks for your lovely review! -SIW

Reviewer: Laudomia Signed
Date: 09/20/05 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter One

The story has so many good features, where to start? Great job of depicting that horrible, empty sensation of longing for someone. But then you add in cool, light details (Pinkie in her toile pillowcase—with cord and tassels!) to alleviate the angst. I particularly like Mrs. Parkinson, who makes a good case, even though no enamored teen would listen to a mother’s advice. I hadn’t thought of how empty Slytherin would be during a wizarding war. Tough times. Finally, the owl arriving at last, only to pass Pansy by! Poor thing. I hope she hears from Draco soon.

Author's Response: Laudomia, I'm glad you liked the elf's attire--it's easy to tell she belongs to Pansy, isn’t it? Mrs. Parkinson is quite a character too. You shall see more of her. The fact that Pansy and Millicent are the only two older Slytherins says a lot about where loyalties lie. Well, at least she gets a room to herself this year...which will prove useful later on. *wink* Thanks for taking the time to review this and my other stories as well! I appreciate it.
