Hey all fellow authors, readers, Harry Potter fanatics :P,
My name is Rachel and I'm sixteen in May. I'm quiet, kind of shy, a daydreamer and artsy/creative I guess. I like Art - drawing and painting. Most of my stuff is just doodles and sketches which I just sort of keep in a drawer, but I have sketchbooks too. I like writing, i like reading. I like exploring, I like walking in the countryside and feeding the ducks. If I could go back in time, I'd meet Beatrix Potter for a day and we'd go up a hill and paint and write stories about the animals there; I'd meet Shirley Hughes and ask her to teach me how she draws and writes, and I'd go back to Jane Austen's life and find out who Elizabeth Bennet was and whether Mr Darcy exists for every eligible bachelorette!
I like singing, dancing and acting too, but usually only in my room since my dancing is umm...interesting! I hate Maths and science. I wanna kill algebra one day. I love kids and their imaginations. I love looking after them and I like inventing stories and games for them.
I'm doing English language and literature for the the next year (and hopefully after). Writing is a skill that has to be practised to become anything, so I figured, writing stories is pretty much a way to keep me motivated!. I love harry potter and JK Rowling is pure genius. She's my favourite author, hands down. I don't care about all those people who make digs at her by saying she only writes basic literature for kids...so? Just look at this site, dedicated to her :)
Since I was little I've always wanted to write professionally. Nowadays I'd still love to write a book, but realistically that's quite a big dream! Whether or not I publish a book, creative writing is a really useful skill to develop. So writing fanfiction is the way forward! It's far more fun and way less stressful than school will ever be - and no one judges you!
I like general fanfiction, but Harry Potter's all I've ever written. I almost started a Lost fanfic once since I'm really into that show and believe that Kate and Jack are made for one another! Lol. Anyway. At some point, I'll get my next fanfic up. I swear, exams and school are almost NOT worth the effort...but once they're over I am going to SIT DOWN with a HUGE cup of tea and write a fanfic :)

Here is the bit for all you lot reading "The New Surprise". Chapter 15 got deleted first time round, so that's why there was a wait. I had to completely re-write it, but I think the 2nd draft has improved a lot, so I'm glad really! Again, my apologies for making you wait!!

huh...i'm confused, sorry i have reviewed again so continuously, but isn't this story called To see You through the Dark? Has it changed to Harry Potter: The Sixth Year now? Oh by the way thanks for giving me some name ideas for my story The New Surprise. :P
Author's Response: Please don't apologize for all the reviews, I am absolutely loving them. ;) The original story title was Harry Potter: The Sixth Year, but critics told me that it was far too common and to search out a more interesting name. Someone suggested To See You Through The Dark and I really liked it, so there you go. And no problem with the names, I was happy to do it!
Wow..........................Oh.my.gosh. That was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. My favorite part was when Ron Hermione and Ginny all backed him up and Voldemort was destroyed. I thought it was excellent how he didn't die, he was literally destroyed, which was pretty amzing how he just rumbled the whole earth. I have never written a battle scene, but I can imagine that they would be very hard to write. You very nearly had me crying at the end when Harry screamed out to the rain! Well...nearly :) Oh my gosh again you really have to write the next chapter so we can all enjoy it!!! ;)
Author's Response: If you ever get to write a battle scene, I tell you now that it is freaking difficult and I don\'t know how JKR does it time and time again. If anyone knows the secret to making it easy, I would love to hear! I\'m so glad that you liked it so much, the next chapter is written but not typed and once more it is one of my favorites!
Wow....another exhilarating chapter. I would like to say my favorite part was when Harry was saying all those things about those who had died, including Dumbledore. I'm sad this story is ending (or has ended) but at the same time it's brilliant and amazing because of the way it has ended, bittersweet, but at least now we know people can begin to move on with their lives as Voldemort is truly gone, even when their loved ones have gone with him. I loved it!

Author's Response: I know! It gets people\'s hopes up like mad and then they get angry when it\'s not there. (I experience it a lot with sparx\'s story). Don\'t forget to review after reading the chapter as well!
It's quite strange to see this story ending, it's the longest I've read on MNFF! Chapter 48 was beautifully done. It wasn't too heavy or too light, you got the perfect balance. And Ginny finally admitted her true feelings! That was something (like Harry) we as readers had all been waiting for but didn't want to say anything yet! Anyway, this was a very beautiful ending, and I really hope you can write more work because I think it's something you're really good at. And thanks for reading and reviewing my own fanfiction, which is how I discovered this great story. I can't wait for the sequel!

It was so relieving to write, and I wanted to get a lot of that relief into the characters as well. Unfortunately, I\'ve slumped a bit since finishing. Hey i actually didn't think this was corny!! I thought it made a difference having a chapter all about Lily and James and how they got engaged etc. Okay, there was one slight Titanic moment but who cares?? The way you wrote it was *sigh* romantic....lol! The thing that would have made it corny is if u had him fly her out to some ship that he had made look like the Titanic...but it was great!! This is one of my favorite chapters!! Along with the Chistmas chapter when Ginny and Harry got back together and Ron and Hermione got together (that was sweeet!!). Anyway great job, i don't mind about the spoiler i want to read on anyways!!!!!!!!!
Author's Response: I don't even like Titanic all that much, but I couldn't help myself. ;) I don't get enough sweet moments in this and I wanted there to be some good backstory on Lily and James and particularly the rift between Lily and Petunia. It's really weird but before I was really behind and I was reviewing like ch. 35 while evryone else was commenting on ch. 45 or 46 and now I'm like....wow!! You have to update! alongside everyone else! Woot - how must it feel to now have 1000+ reviews??? This story is excellent. I really do think that. Oh and so is DUI: dating under influence LOL, i think i'll add that to my faves as well.... ;D

WHEW!!!!! I've finished all the chapters!!! Finally! Well, I have sooo much to comment on!!! Firstly, I think you did excellent for one sitting! Usually I never manage that. Secondly, I know it's a battle but what's with all the deaths?! Acutally don't take that seriously, I think that it is good because it's different how you make it like unexpected. I feel reaallly sad though!!! Cho, the Creeveys, Seamus, Percy, etc.!!! Well i can't wait for Chapter 47!!! This is the longest fic I have ever read. Usually i think long fics drag on a bit but this one has me captivated!! Excellent work.
Author's Response: One sitting is hard. Very much so. War is war and there have to be deaths. Without deaths, there is no price paid and there is no reason to end a war. Sad but very true. I think I did a good job in choosing who would die which of course sounds very odd, but I was happy about the choices. I'm glad that you've stuck with this one and enjoyed it, keep up the great job!
Hii again!!! I'm reading thru these chapters, phew it does take a while! (but don't worry its totally worth it ^_^) I was so sad about harry and ginny's break-up!! I thought the break-up was quite sudden, harry just blurted it out. But i guess he'd already gone over it in his head. :'-0 <--- me crying!! okay, i didn't quite cry, but i was still very sad!! Harry is being a little ... puppydog. There! I didn't swear!! Sooo good so far, really can't wait to read the next chapter! :P

Wow.....I just finished this and have to say I'm really amazed at every little twist and turn the plot has made. I really like the idea of the Time Turner. That was really well thought out and believable. This is so unlike anything I have ever read on here! I think the ending was really good, and I shall read the epilogue!

Pregnant Ginny! Poor girl! Actually I'm writing a H/G fic where Ginny gets pregnant in her seventh year too...so i guess thats what made me click on this! lol, nice job so far! Btw, I have to ask, its gonna bug me otherwise...Have you read noughts and crosses? is that where you got the name Persephone from? Or do you just like the name? Just wondering ;)
Author's Response: I got the name Persephone from Greek Mythology. No specific reference to the Myths surrounding her, just when I need name an incidental character, I use mythology as a primary source. Thanks for taking a moment to review, I hope you enjoy the rest of my little story ;)
