Too Sweet to Remember by Canadian Confessional

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Meet James Potter, a clever, somewhat mischievous, popular student at Hogwarts. He takes every situation in stride and has everything under control, except one: Lily Evans, an amazingly beautiful and intelligent individual. He loves her more than anything, but she despises him more than anything, and a not-so-impressive run-in late at night with her leaves James thinking that chasing after Lily might be hopeless. Then, a series of events happen in James' life, which is topped off by an unexpected visitor that makes his sixth year too sweet to remember.

Wow. That is simply what I have to say. I don't know why, but I see a lot of what's going on in my own life right now in this story. Not the whole part about being kissed by my crushes best mate, lol, but just all those feelings and everything. I love this story sooo much. You're an amazing author! Update again soon please ;D! Jade

Author's Response: You see your life in here? Wow, I'm glad I wrote the fic realistically. I tried as best as possible to combine real life teenage elements into the story in order for the readers to engage it more. I'm glad it's working! Thanks!

Wow. I must say this is probably the best chapter so far, just because both of the things they were saying were equally true. I love how you didn't make Lily instantly like James after he said all those things. That's what makes this story really different from everyone elses. I really admire you, Starmaiden, and Cherry and Pheonix Feather, because all three of you delve into the emotions of the characters and make the readers feel something, you know? So congratulations, you're obviously in my Favorites :). Great job, and I'm on to the next chapter! (I must say, you've updated a lot in the month that I was traveling, and that's the best coming-home present anyone could've given me, even not on purpose, lol.)

Author's Response: Hi there! Awww, this review is so very flattering. I'm really glad you like all the inner-emotional issues I put in, and my writing. Thank-you so much! I hope you had a good time on your trip. Thanks again!

Ok, sorry, I just had to read the next chapter to find out. Now I'll give you a real review, lol. Okay, you are one of my idols. I love the way you explained what was happening in everyone's life! It was funny and interesting and kept me reading. I've noticed that now that I've started writing, I study other people's writing styles, and yours is really amazing. Just the way you put everything. It's not too fancy, not too boring, just right. I really, really liked this chapter! And now I'll go leave a review on the next chapter :).

Author's Response: Ooh, I know what you mean by studying other people's writing. I do it all the time now! Goodness, you are very flattering, I'm truly brimming with happiness. Thanks!

This was a great chapter, because you blended intrigue, sorrow, comedy, and romance together really well. That's what I've decided I like this fic for: it's unusualness. You know, usually Lily just falls for James just like that and everything, but in this one, it's real. This is more what it's like to be teenager, you know? So I love the reality of the situation. And also the fact that Sirius is going out with a younger girl, 'cause YEAH! Guys go out with younger girls! That's also very real, lol. But anyway, really, really great job, and I'll be waiting for the next update with bated breath :). Bye!

Author's Response: Unusualness? Ooh, thank-you! For this story, I tried to move away from the typical things in a J/L fic, but still keep everyone canon. I understand what you mean by the teenage issues (yeah guys go out with younger girls!!). I'm very flattered, and I'll try to update real soon! Thanks a bunch!

Heehee, the age difference is fine I think. 14 and 16, that's no big deal. Hm...maybe Lily will finally realize she likes him after he starts going out with Audrey. Or maybe Audrey was just showing him how he needs to change to get Lily. I shall have to find out :). Wonderful story! I really like this chapter! -Tash

Simply fantabulous. I really, seriously admire this story for it's reality. Audrey's financial problems—so freakin' real. It's not an epic story, nothing turns out happy like in fairytales. That's what I love about it! The character of Audrey actually reminds me of someone I know, though I can't picture it right now...anyway, awesome job. And of course I'll be back for more, because you are in my Favorites. Forgive me language but, YOU KICK ASS!!!

Author's Response: Hi! Oh, wow, this review is extremely flattering! I'm blushing. I'm very happy that you like the story, and the reality element I bring it. For this story, I tried to wander away from cliche as much as possible and make it as realistic, so people could actually relate to it, you know? Thanks SO much, and your language is very much excused, lol!
