Hi everyone! I'm Cat, I'm nineteen and I'm completely obsessed with Harry Potter. I have some friends who also obsess over Harry Potter (thankfully) but the rest just find my obsession amusing. I would like to say thank you to all of the people who have read my fics, especially those reading Soul of a Player, which I have been writing since I was in yr 10 (I was about 15yrs old then) and have finally finished very recently. It will probably take about another year to post though because it is very long so thank you so much if you stick with me until the end (that sounds more sinister than it is).

Fanfiction likes: I enjoy Marauder Era mainly and especially humour fics. I like a bit of romance every once in a while and occasionally some dark/angsty though I find them a bit...angsty for my liking.

Ships I support: Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny (even though it was rushed in canon it appears better written in fan fiction), James/Lily, Remus/Lily, Snape/Lily, Remus/Tonks. Occasionally I indulge in a bit of Ginny/Draco, Hermione/Draco or Hermione/Snape (though I only like the latter in humour fics as it gets a bit weird and creepy in others).
In humour fics, I don't mind a bit of slash in Harry/Draco or Remus/Sirius.

I hope that after Deathly Hallows the fan fiction community will continue to thrive and the work of all our wonderful authors will continue to be acknowledged. Also to my Soul of a Player readers, you will have to bear with me as I'm now at uni and have a heavy workload. I am also doing Journalism and Creative Writing which obviously requires me to spend a lot of time on my own writing as opposed to fan fiction. However, as SOAP is already finished, I see no problem in posting up a chapter in a spare five minutes. Thanks to everyone who's stuck with me and has been reading my fics and especially to those who took the time to review. It means a lot to me.

Cliché Nation by just_the_contrary

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: A compilation of the most commonly used Harry Potter clichés in the fandom. Features Angsty!Harry, Sweet!Draco, Head Dorms, sudden romances in the forms of Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny and of course, Draco/Hermione, because what's a cliché without them?

The Marauders also make an appearance in this fic, including Lily/Lily's best friend/Lily's other best friend.

Warning: mention of hippopotamuses inside.

Chapter Five is up! The story is done. Also, thank you to everyone who nominated this neatly tied bundle of ridiculousness in the QQ awards, I really appreciate it!

That is the most hilarious thing I have ever read. I especially loved “I WANT SAUSAGES!” he told everyone in the Great Hall. He climbed up onto the wooden bench. “WHY ARE THERE NO SAUSAGES? I FIGHT VOLDEMORT, WHO YOU ARE ALL SO SCARED OF, SO WHY CAN’T I GET THE BREAKFAST OPTIONS I WANT? I AM SO ANGRY!” XD Me and my friend were practically rolling on the floor laughing. I can't wait for the next chapter!!!

Author's Response: Oh my, thank you so much! I\'ve read The Soul of a Player and I really liked it! (did I leave a review? I\'ll drop you a review when I have time.) I\'m so happy you liked it so much and this is *gasp* the funniest thing you\'ve ever read. Hmmm, you haven\'t read much humour fiction, have you? :) I hope you did not break any valuable items while rolling on the floor laughing. Thank you.

Lol I loved the bit at the start and the random Sparklypoo chant that stopped all the angst XD

Author's Response: lol. Thanks. I didn\'t think this chapter is that funniest thing I\'ve ever written, but I\'m glad you liked it! Voldie needed to stop all that angst sometime. :)

Voices That Linger In Dusty Old Photographs by The Half Blood Prince

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: A short character-study exploring Remus' feelings in the days after Hallowe'en 1981.

(The world is strange; strange and old and sometimes dead, but mostly, it is living.)

Story discussed in the DADA class on mugglenet's fan fiction forums.

That was such a touching piece of writing. I do wonder if you mean 'lose' in this sentence- 'Anything, he thinks, making him think until he looses all thoughts.' Other than that, I don't think anything confused me. I thought the emotion you put into this was fantastic. It was frighteningly realistic, as if perhaps we all live in our past a little bit.
The end especially was quite poignant because he seemingly burns all of his memories and yet still wants to tell Sirius things whilst knowing that he can't...Lovely work.

Author's Response: Good thoughts, on the ending; quite the same way my thought-process moved in the beginning, when I was (still) wondering on how the ending should be, and should be written. One more thing that could be interesting to note: the pictures - what if they are the ones speaking directly to him (Remus) in the cursive text?

Sorry for this late reply: intended to reply the same day I saw it, but got distracted, then forgot.

Many thank yous for your opinions; is appreciated.
