To Sever the Lining from a Cloud by Textualsphinx

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: This tale of the teacher whom everyone loathes,
Accounts for his anger and elegant clothes.
It dripped through my mind when, too scantily cloaked,
I got caught in a rainstorm and throughly soaked.

WARNING: Despite the glints of humour, you will need a handkerchief.

This is, quite possibly, the most beautiful thing I've ever read. It almost made me cry. Severus was completely in character, and I wanted to hug him. It's amazing how you can explain so much without telling us. You showed us instead. This deserved to be featured- I'd read it before, but never reviewed. I just wanted you to know that you've brightened up someone's day with your story of these two. Or three, I suppose.

The only thing I have to say negatively, is that Lily seemed ... I dunno ... conceited? Yes, conceited. It was like she thought she was special, higher than everyone else, almost. 'Yes, I am blessed. Yes, magical dresses seek me out because /I/ am marvelous.' Maybe I was the only person who got that feeling. But I did.

Overall, such a brilliant story. I loved it. Loved it.

Sorting Songs, a History (with Two Examples) by Textualsphinx

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Who really writes the Sorting Songs? A literary history of magical song-writing with not one but two authentic examples from recent decades. They rhyme and they scan.
Reviewer: StellaSirius Signed
Date: 06/14/06 Title: Chapter 1: One shot

I loved this! Your other story is amazing as well. Well, if rap was something I listened to, I'd definitely take you up on that. But frankly...rappers scare me. Oo Good job!

People Sirius Loves by Marauder

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Sirius has been causing trouble in school, and McGonagall asks Andromeda to come in for a meeting with her. A very young Nymphadora Tonks comes along, eager to see her favorite cousin. RL/SB.

I'll just say what everybody else has said ... punctuation and quotations are a must. But the rest of the story was SO FANTASTIC, that it completely makes up for it. I loved the Nymphie biscuit, and the Sirius and Remus sandwich. Fantabulous story. You're very talented.

Evil Villainy for Dummies by Hermiones_Revenge

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: (Hi, I wrote this when I was 16, please keep that in mind. I'm keeping it up because people still like it.)

So, you want to be an evil villain? In this handbook that a certain Hogwarts student purchases, all of the rules, techniques, and frequently asked questions about evil villainy are explained. Do you have what it takes? And what will happen to the student who purchases the book? Another story from the strange, twisted, and slightly unfortunate Hermione's Revenge.

Oo. That was hilarious, but...eating children? Goodness me.

A Dusty Old Volume of Inconsequential Verse by Vader

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Here you will find a jumble messed of ill-conceived poems. Perhaps, and the odds are firmly against it, you may stumble across a small smile, intriquing thought, or unique feeling in here. But, again, it's very unlikely. Verse XI has been validated.

This was beautiful. I absolutely loved it! You, Vader, are the Poetry God here. I hope someday I'm in the running! ;) But wow, this was amazing.

Ah! This made me cry, dead serious it did. And I would never have given nearly as much insight into this as you did. Well done, well done indeed!

Author's Response: One of the best compliment I\'ve gotten. Thank you. ^_^

Yet another wonderufl story. Splendid, splendid. Stella has a question, though it's probably quite nosy. If you don't mind Stella asking, how old are you?

Author's Response: I\'m currently 19 going 20 sometime this year, but I\'m quite immature for my age. *snicker*

"Mum, Dad, It's Me... Harry." by Mudblood428

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

Oh, you made me cry. Really and seriously. Few fan fictions can do that. Congratulations on your amazing writing skills. Man, now the keyboard is wet! That was great. I especially liked the end. I loved it, did you know it was recommended on the forums?

Stella

Author's Response: Really? I actually didn\'t know! Thanks very much! :D

Practically Perfect in Every Way by lilyevans91

Or so Lily thinks...but thanks to Lily's best friend Jackie, as well as the the Marauders, it's not going to be that simple. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the comedy of errors that was Lily and James' relationship.

A/N: whoo-hoo! chapter four's up!! another long and slightly pointless chapter, but now you guys know why the effect of dumby's charm was so strong to lily. anyway, next chappie should be finished and submitted soon, so keep on reading and reviewing!

Well, that's a different way to portray Lily! I've only thought of her a couple of times like that. But it was good!

Author's Response: well, the reason i portrayed her like that was cause i was getting a bit tired of the usual lily/james stories that all have the same basic scenes, and i had realy and liked a few stories where lily and james were friends, so i decided to have a go at it myself! i\'m glad you liked it, though! thanks for reading (and reviewing!)

Author's Response: ahh, i feel stupid, i made a typo on my response: instead of \"and i had realy and liked a few stroies...\" i mean \"and i had read and liked a few stories...\" sorry! ^_^

Whatever You Do by Emily_the_Poet

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

The Story of Jenny Stewart by Sneaky_Rhae

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Who is the Grey Lady of Ravenclaw house? What caused her to remain among the living after her death?
Reviewer: StellaSirius Signed
Date: 07/07/06 Title: Chapter 1: one-shot

Oh, yes! -claps- That was brilliant. It was almost like a fable, for some reason. However, just to make this a useful review, what kind of nobility was Jenny born into? Pretty high, obviously, but I don't think you ever said specifically. I wondered about that, but overall it was a good story.

Stella

Author's Response: Thanks for your question. I\'m not really sure about the nobility. She is just from a very well=to-do family though it is feasible that her father was a Lord. Thanks for the review!

The Lion Within - A Sirius Black Story by the nutty imp

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: He was raised to be a proper heir to the 'Most Ancient and Noble House of Black'. An unexpected turn of events sent him to an unfamiliar territory. Family foundations shaken, he will have to look within himself to figure out who Sirius Black truly is.

Reviewer: StellaSirius Signed
Date: 06/06/06 Title: Chapter 1: Challenge # 5

Yay! So beautiful. I always thought that Sirius wasn't a true rebel from the start. I loved this story and the way that you put it. You're such an amazing writer!

Author's Response: Thank you. I always did picture Sirius to be sort-of Draco-like only with more guts and backbone; at least during that time when he started Hogwarts - mostly because they were both probably spoilt rotten and fed the same pure blooded fantical beliefs.

A Present To Die For by whatapotter

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Some people say that you can find anything imaginable in Knockturn Alley. In the dark recesses of one shop, a piece of jewelry, which has haunted history for eons, lies hidden. It is a beautiful piece; striking and elegant in every way. Truly, it is a gift any woman would die for.

Winner of the 'Borgin and Burkes' one-shot challenge.

That sent chills up my spine! It was perfectly eerie. I thought that it was Lucius in the first place, but.... Ooohhh. It was wonderful! The only bit of critique that I can think of, is that the list of dead women at the end was kind of, almost... backwards. Hmm. Oh well, it was wonderful. You deserved to win!

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I\'m so glad it had the right effect and was suitably chilling! I\'m really happy you enjoyed it so much

My Inspiration by PadfootBaby

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: How does J. K. Rowling feel on an off day, when she feels uninspired and sick of Harry? How will she feel, though when the whole series is done, when the journey is over? This poem explores the answers to these questions, trying to see it from her point of view.
Reviewer: StellaSirius Signed
Date: 06/09/06 Title: Chapter 1: My Inspiration

I agree completely! Amazing poem, with great rhyme and everything else. I never would have thought about writing from JKR's point of view. Splendid work, old bean. (lol)

Author's Response: Thanks to you, old bean #2! ;P

The Toad and Me by Blossomlily

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: A poem from Harry's perspective about one of the many detentions he served the Toad, Umbridge, during his fifth year.
Reviewer: StellaSirius Signed
Date: 06/24/06 Title: Chapter 1: The Toad and Me

That wasn't bad at all! I've been writing poetry for quite a while, and my stuff's not as good as that! Terrific job. However, the last verse might be better if it was somehow split up into two verses. It's really long compared to the rest of the poem. I'm really being a hypocrite, I know...

Author's Response: Well, I did have to change the rhyme scheme in the last stanza, make it in character for they\'re Harry\'s lines, and offer a satisfactory ending there. No disrespect, but I\'m afraid I don\'t want to change it, because that might meen revision of the whole stanza. Phew. Thanks so much for the compliments! :) I\'m no poet, but I no poets shouldn\'t put down their work like that. Have confidence! :)

A Call from Conscience by Blossomlily

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: What if Peter had a conscience? What if it visited him very late on that fateful Hallowe’en night, sixteen years ago?
Reviewer: StellaSirius Signed
Date: 06/06/06 Title: Chapter 1: A Call from Conscience

Goodness gracious! That was a very interesting poem, and I don't mean interesting like I have nothing else to say about it. I never would have thought of that idea for a poem. Splendid job.

Author's Response: Thank you, dear. :)

Peculiar Satisfaction by Periwinkle

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: One shot from Sirius's perspective in his Animagus form, on the night he first saw Harry in Magnolia Crescent.

Reviewer: StellaSirius Signed
Date: 07/06/06 Title: Chapter 1: One shot

That was a great story! I've wondered what Sirius thought that night, and I'm glad that someone portrayed it. However, was there a stream next to where the Knight Bus landed? Remember, it was a street. However, overall it was a really good story.

Author's Response: Thanks for your lovely review! Let me go check on that...

A Single Act of Kindness by Sly Severus

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Petunia Dursley has a problem with the wizarding world, and an even bigger problem with her sister. It all started when Lily went away to Hogwarts. But that wasn't enough to completely tear the sisters apart. What finally ended their relationship forever was a single act of kindness.
Reviewer: StellaSirius Signed
Date: 06/23/06 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

I'm apalled that there is only one other review! This was an amazing story, and a great piece of work. It makes sense, and the characters all seem canon. I've even thought that the death of Petunia's parents were all Lily's fault, in her eyes. I'm glad somebody else sees it my way, too! :) Great job!

Author's Response: Wow! Thank you so much. I\'m glad you like my idea about the feud between Lily and Petunia. Thanks for reviewing!
