Soap is my dog's name. Don't ask - he just looks like a Soap!
I'm a huge fan of almost anything involving Sirius and almost anything involving Remus, and when it involves both of them together, well . . . that's just ideal, isn't it? However, I do mean "almost anything", because I'm not very fond of Remus/Tonks. I know that it's popular and that it's, you know, allegedly in the "actual books" and all that nonsense, but I just really prefer seeing good old Remus with someone else.
In writing, I'm not at all an equal opportunity shipper. I started with Draco/Hermione, but in my old age (coming up on 28 now... positively ancient!) and after marrying a guy who is several years older than I, I've come to appreciate that men, like fine wines, get better with age. Thus, I've become very Sirius- and Remus-centered, as I've mentioned already, and most of what I write these days involves them together, or one of them with Hermione (she is quite the fanfiction slut, is she not?).
Reviews are always welcome, and suggestions are absolutely taken into consideration. Thanks for stopping by!
Allow me a moment of frivolous self-promotion: OMG I am in the top ten favorite authors! Wow!! I can't believe it!! Well, I hope I keep getting plenty of readers to click that "Add to Favorites" button, because it really is an honor to be on that list!
Has anyone figured out that the Hermione/Sirius series stories are all titled with Nirvana songs? Just wondering.
This is a wonderful story. I'm so fond of Remus, and it's interesting to hear everything from his point of view!
Author's Response: Thankyou! It was really interesting writing it! I love Remus too ;-)
[Peter Pettigrew, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and the logic of fives. Dark, some disturbing imagery. One shot.]
Excellent! I'm quite impressed. Great one shot.
You can't stop there!! I can't wait to find out what's next. Excellent!
"And Remus, of course, never considered any action done for his benefit to be worthwhile."
That was a fantastic line. THe writing is incredible. I am really enjoying the story, and I can't wait for the updates!
Beautiful chapter. Interesting and surprising reaction from Tonks, but then again not surprising at all. I can't wait for the next update!
"For about a quarter of a second, Tonks was almost tempted to drop him. Remus bloody Lupin, you noble, pushy, ungrateful, over-protective, self-righteous…"
Best line I've read in a long time!! This chapter was incredible. I'm more than eager to see what happens next! Absolutely amazing... kudos!
You had better update... like... instantly! I can't wait to find out what happens! You've woven such a fantastic story; I am on the edge of my seat. Excellent!
wow! That's all I can say. Wow! I've never actually read a fic that brought me near tears until now. You've depicted Remus & Tonks in their last moments perfectly.
"his eyes fixed upon his wife with a mixture of shock, joy and horror. “What the hell are you doing here? Get out of here, now!”
That was lovely. I adore this chapter! Well, off to read the next! It's got a lot to live up to!
Another lovely chapter. Teddy's really got some interesting stuff going on in his psyche... he's almost losing it entirely in his quest. Great job capturing those emotions.
I loved the "stepping back into the past" moments. Especially this one:
He went to their wedding next, stepping inside the photo on his mantelpiece and learned that the wine stain had been his father’s fault (kissing his mother’s neck from behind while she was holding a full wine glass was apparently not a good idea).
I liked it because it wasn't really necessary to include in the plot, but it gives the reader a really fun sidenote... a very appropriate one!
Excellent chapter. Dennis's outburst was very appropriate. Well-written!
Excellent chapter as always, my dear. And I'm eager to find out what's happened with Penny! Something wrong with the portal, I'm guessing?
Wonderful!! You are crazy-creative with your explanation of why it wouldn't work. Impressive! And of course I knew deep down you'd rescue them, but the best part was wondering if you were really gonna do it! Sort of like with JKR and Harry at the end of DH - you can't help but think, "Oh my gosh, she's gonna kill him!"
Anyway, fabulously done. I'm hoping for as many more chapters as you can spit out, and more babies for Tonks and Remus too! =)
You did absolutely wonderfully! It was fantastic... I swear, it actually could have happened. The writing was amazing, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. The characterizations were spot on: you gave us a lot of depth to Tonks and Remus where there wasn't much before.
And finally, Tonks has never been one of my favorite characters, but to tell you the truth, after this story, I might be willing to give her another shot!
Brava! And I sincerely hope to read more from you.
His obsession is really taking hold, isn't it? Look what he's willing to do to get his parents back!
I loved Harry's reaction ... the brief moment where he thought what Teddy was doing might be a good idea. Very in-character for him. Lovely chapter. Update soon!
Thanks goodness Remus managed to get out! The description of Tonks's emotion upon realizing who pulled them out was lovely. Beautifully done.
I can't wait for the next chapter. You're doing such a wonderful job delving into Teddy's psyche. I'm duly impressed. Keep going!
"the face he pictured as he saw her lying injured in St Mungo’s in his mind’s eye, was now a wife and mother in her early forties, older in years lived at least than he was…"
Excellent line there. A way to point out an oddity of this sort of time travel that the reader of course knows but might not really catch. I love the fast updates and can't wait for more!
Oh. My. God. I have NEVER in my life teared up while reading a fan fiction story... until now. That was absolutely amazing. Incredible.
I loved that the time-department employees didn't want to set up the portal. I loved Kingsley's reaction to the situation. Loved the simply goodbye between Remus and Tonks.
My favorite paragraph was this: "And then suddenly, Remus Lupin was at his side, smiling wanly at him, his teacher, his mentor, his friend. He was the last true link that Harry had to his parents, the last of the Marauders to be flung beneath the cruel heel of fate. He had taught him to fight the incarnation of fear itself, helped him beyond measure as he learned how to defend himself from the inevitable, and given him the strength to find the courage to go on and face his own death for the good of the wizarding world. He was a good man who’d fought a long war against the world, the Death Eaters, against the pull of the moon, and his own fears."
Amazing. I would have killed you if you had ended the chapter earlier. Can't wait for the next!!
This was absolutely lovely!! Seemed entirely plausible, as well. I adored it!
Author's Response: Glad you liked it....tell your friends!
