I'm a fiction-writing cat! I write fantasy, both fan fiction and my own. You can read the fan fiction here on MNFF.
Daydreamer is about Anne Rhys, who came to Hogwarts the same year Harry Potter did. Read all about the troubles a girl can have as a certified daydreamer! (By the way, Daydreamer will return to MNFF. It disappeared in the big purge, but I am still working on it, and when it's done, I'll start re-submitting it.)
Changeling is about a baby... and since it's a short story, you can read it and then I won't have to give away what happened.
I have a story (more than one) about the Bast, a feline who comes to Hogwarts to solve a problem. The Bast is seen through Professor Snape's eyes.
Meow!
I would love to read more stories with Newton Carter in them. (Hint, hint?)
Oh, I like this. It's a gentle treatment of the Harry/Hermione ship. I can believe Hermione's numbness. I could read more stories like this.
Author's Response: Eee thank you! Lovely compliment :)
I started reading this story in the evening. What a mistake! I kept reading, and I didn't reach the end of chapter 21 until 3:30 a.m. What a fun story! The idea of putting the characters in a position where they must choose a mate is enough to send me into evil chuckles of enjoyment. My only disappointment is that I couldn't finish reading it, because the rest of the story isn't up yet. Good writing, good story, and (obviously) a page-turner, if there were pages to turn. Could I call it a mouse-turner? A mouse-clicker on the down arrow key? But you get the idea.
I'm really going to miss Lucius--well, the Lucius that you have written for your readers. I really felt bad when he died. As you know, that means you did a good job of writing him.
Any chance you'd do more on him? Hopefully? Either before this story began, or just change the universe and write about him and have him not die? I'm not usually a Lucius fan, so this is saying something.
This story is intriguing. I've always thought there was something between Lily and Snape. Whoo-hoo... shivers! More, please!
Author's Response: Well thank you very much! I think there definitely was. I\'ve written the final chapter already and should be posting it soon!
Intriguing!
Okay, so... do we get to find out what this potion for Frate Lupo actually does?
(hint, hint...)
So now we know where Minerva's ugly ring of thistles around her hat brim really came from! Was Snape trying to show how he detested Christmas by putting a wreath of thistles--or is he secretly a Scotsman and showing his roots? (heh-heh-heh) But seriously, I'll join your other reviewers in saying how much I like the way you present McGonagall and Snape as friends. It's a cautious friendship, to be sure, as most friendships are when one party has been badly hurt in the past, but it's a friendship none the less. Nice details, too. Funny how greasy hair and wet hair look a lot the same.
Author's Response: Severus does seem to be hiding his roots for all he\'s worth, doesn\'t he? I think the thistles were merely meant to be a hostile hat-tip to the season, myself, but Minerva liked them. Severus and Minerva make some sense as friends, in a guarded and competitive sort of way -- mostly as Heads of the two most troublemaking Houses. For some reason when I come across remarks on Severus and his greasy hair, what I think of is Harry having had more haircuts than the rest of the boys at his school put together, and those haircuts doing no good at all. Wizards seem to either have good hair naturally or be stuck in a permanent bad-hair day.
It's fun to see pieces of the HP stories from Snape's point of view. And I really love to see the caring side of Snape, because I do think he has one. I remember from COS that Snape's hands tightened on the back of the chair when he found out it was Ginny Weasley that had been taken to the chamber. Your subtle story catches that equally subtle hint from JKR and expands upon it gently. Excellent story. More, please!
Author's Response: Thanks! The funny thing is, the subtle moment that bunnied a lot of this story was a different one: \"Bill doesn\'t like him either,\" says Ginny when there\'s a mass Snape-bashing going on. She voices no opinion of her own, which is a bit unusual for her. On the other hand, six brothers plus Harry and Hermione are a lot to disagree with. I\'m pondering another story of Severus and Ginny, honest!
*tumbles off chair from laughing*
Oh! the purple and hot pink bubbles! Poor Mrs. Figg! Though you must admit, Dung handled it well...
But what happens next? Talk about a cliffhanger! Must know!
I like the way Draco comes across, by the way. Not precisely pleasant, but not really horrid anymore.
But I can hardly wait to see the Weasley family's faces if Ginny gets engaged, then shows up at home. "Okay, Mom, Dad, everyone... here's the man I'm going to marry."
(collected gasp; Molly faints...)
Author's Response: Hee. I\'m working on the next chapter, but it\'s slow going. I\'m glad you\'re enjoying it! Thanks for the review!
I love the idea of Elizabeth using her spindle in place of a wand, and the socks were great! There now. Dumbledore always liked socks, and here Elizabeth actually knitted some that served a very important purpose.
And it just goes to show--a long friendship of several years makes for a compatible relationship!
I like this story. I'm glad Elizabeth is happy with being married to Mad-Eye. He deserves someone good.
Snif... I love this story. The way you portray Severus always strikes me as so accurate. And I desperately want to see him rescued from the utter rejection in his life. And finally--in this story--it happened. Lily defined love in her own mind and went to the man who loved her. And she went to the man she loved. Phooey on James. He's nothing but a bullying toerag, anyway.
I don't suppose I ought to ask for more. But... just maybe... um... could you show us Severus's and Lily's children, if they have any? Any little boys with black hair, big noses, and really ougrageous laughs? Cheerful brown eyes shaped like Lily's?? Or... well, anyway, I love this story. Really.
Author's Response: Wow. What a sweet review! Thanks! Poor James. Rowling once said that Severus \'didn\'t deserve a Lily,\' and it made me wonder -- who did? James had so much already; did he really deserve any more? Total plotrabbitry, there. Speaking of, it sounds like you may have a nice little plotbunny yourself about the little Snapes. On the other hand, if he saw all sorts of dreadful future occurrences after Lily had a son, they might just strive for daughters. ;)
I love this story.
*snif*
*sob*
I love this story, and I wish it were true.
Would you believe it, I was checking every day for an update to this story, so I was thrilled to see this chapter.
You're developing both Snape and Ginny so well. I find them both believable--and it's difficult to write believably with Snape if one is not very careful.
Now I shall wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks! Good to see you here (come to think of it, there are a lot of \'claws reviewing this fic. I feel very loved.) I hope you\'re as happy with the characterization in the later chapters, when there are more than two people around.
Oh! Excellent! *rolls on floor* Thank you! I know one is supposed to leave more coherent reviews, so I'll try. You have the great novelist touch, and I hope you're still working on your original fiction.
Excellent!
Ack! Cliffhanger! I shall suffer deeply until the next installation.
*plants self in front of computer to wait for next installation*
The tension builds nicely!
This does answer quite fully why you were asking questions about British court proceedings several months ago.
I am waiting for the next chapter... waiting patiently...
Author's Response: Aha! You caught me! Thanks!
Oh, it was such an excellent story. I can say that, even if I already told you so.
You portray Snape so well. He doesn't fall into sentimentality. I believe him--with the war over, he can be something other than nasty-tempered. He fits as a post-war Snape.
And though it may hurt you to write Ron that way (and I'm sorry it hurt), I think it was actually realistic.
Really, it's an excellent story.
You could write another about them, you know...
(but only if you want to.)
Intriguing!
I always like a good Snape story, anyway, but Tyr is an interesting character to bring in to talk with the dear professor. Makes me wonder if Snape will now take it upon himself to start reading the right books.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for calling it a \"good\" Snape story. There are so many in FanFic that it is intimidating to me to write one of my own. So many people are so invested in him, one way or the other...
And, you know, I think that Snape was surprised by that comment. I\'m sure, if any one had asked him, that he would have thought he WAS reading the right books, whatever they are that he reads. I show him with a book at the end because I am assuming that as soon as he got back to Hogwarts he went to the library to look up Tyr....Hmmm do you think the Hogwarts library even HAS C. S. Lewis???
Oh, I like this! For one thing, it's such an interesting thought. It's occurred to me many times that students would have had to have been nearly sorted somewhere else. And Snape is so interesting, no matter where he goes. And of course, as Snape himself attempted to point out to Harry in HBP, Snape is no coward.
Author's Response: The Sorting always seems like such an arbitrary thing, and \"The Sorting Hat never makes a mistake\" so entirely un-provable, that this was really fun to write. So much of the difference between Slytherin and Gryffindor seems to be just a matter of what the \"ends\" really are. Thanks!
