RE: CHAPTER UPDATES.... My apologies to anyone who has been waiting for me to update my stories this past month, but I've had very little time since the holidays to write. My chapters may be sporadic at best until May due to the mounting piles of work on my desk. Thanks for reading and I'll do my best to write more soon.
Wonderful perspective and very feline! :D
Wonderful story - look forward to reading the rest. ~_~
Not to be a bust, but in England they don't actually Trick-or-Treat on Halloween, so thats a bit Americanized. Still a good chapter none-the-less.
Er, thats odd - reviewing twice? *shrugs* Anyway, very nice plotline. Love the story - it moves a little fast but is quite realistic. another 10 chapter
Really enjoyed this line in particular - very vivid and made me snort in laughter reading it. ;)
'He arrived at the Great Hall and sat down next to Dean and Ginny, then started shoving toast into his mouth, glaring at the butter dish as though it had insulted him.'
Author's Response: Great! That's one of my favorite lines too! [This, btw, is from an author who still manages to laugh out loud reading her own story, because she has convinced herself it wasn't written by her, therefore causing brother, sister and best friends to think she's crazier than they previously imagined] Er.. yeah - thanks again!
Oh you get the full 5 in my opinion. My sides are aching! My favorite part has to be Wands were hurled in every direction to cries of "Fetch!" and "Good dog!" Many very astute points about the plan as well. Cheers!
These get better and better. I especially love "I was lying," said Voldemort, with a nasty smile on his face. "When?" asked Harry, confused. "Then or now?" That made me laugh out loud and earned me some funny looks. *snicker*
Indeed, I had pictured the irony of Harry's final moment in the battle having him poke himself in the eye with a makeshift paperclip sword, but alas, Dumbledore's nose saved the day! ha ha ha Bravo!
Author's Response: Well, you know there had to be a reason that JKR specified Dumbledore's long and crooked nose. :D Thanks for the reviews!
Love your portrayal of young Tom Riddle - well done! *applauds* Would give you a 10 after a good 'ole spell check - the errors are a tad distracting. ;) *cringes expecting to be 'Crucio'ed*
Author's Response: I would too... I'm not the best speller in the world, but I can pick up small mistakes. The chapters were written in a bit of a rush, but thank you alot for reviewing! :) *hugs* No Crucio today...;)
Looking forward to more. Very well written.
I love this story already. Its so refreshing to read characters like Albus that we know and love portrayed as young people. I really like your take on things, and having Nigellus as his headmaster is very entertaining. He is perfectly snarky just as I imagined him. Cheers!
Very nicely done. One thing that has always confused me about JKRs timeline is that Albus is over 100 years old, yet he said he once had a Bertie Botts bean in his youth. Well, Bertie Bott wasnt even born until 1935... *scratches head8 Very befuddling indeedy. Really like the story though.
Perfect psychology of Malfoy and his future misses - and Bellatrix is true to character as well. Great writing!
Author's Response: Thank you, Aimless Hexes. Lucius is my absolute favorite character to write, closely followed by Draco. There is just something about the Malfoy family that screams psychoanalysis. Again, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It is much appreciated.
Nicely written and interesting backstory on Remus. I expected him to be younger when he was bitten, but nonetheless a very enjoyable read.
Good stuff! Very unusual take on the Dursleys... *giggles*
Author's Response: thanks I liked your story too!!
Well, I have saved the final chapter for Christmas Eve. Its around 4am on Christmas Day and I must say it really put the magic back into the holiday. Thanks so much for sharing it with us, dink. I will forever picture house elves, and Time-Turners and the magically expanding sleigh when I think of Santa Claus/Father Christmas. Brilliant story and I'll keep checking back for more work from you! So far they've been amazing and some of the most enjoyable reads Ive found in fandom. Happy Christmas to you and yours, and wishing you peace, prosperity and happiness in the coming year!
Author's Response: My coming year is going to be filled with writing, AH, so it probably won't be particularly happy. :D But it'll certainly be interesting... And thank you so much for all your reviews -- they've been a pleasure to read during these dark winter days. :)
Really enjoying the historical background of Wizard/Muggle England. And not to worry, I promise I won't allude to the coming events. ;) I will only say that it was a stroke of genius, and I'm surprised I never thought of such a thing before at Christmas time! Oh, its wonderful... it really is. *zips lips to say no more* I look forward to the new chapter every day. Cheers!
Author's Response: Thanks, Aimless Hexes. :) I love your reviews -- they make all the hard work worthwhile.
*still thinking dink has an evil side for making me cry* You have good aim, touche! ;) (that was in response to your last chapter response. I think maybe the part that cofused a little was some of the description in the owl flying sequence. It was fantastic but there was a sentence I read twice as well. (cant recall which one though) Its a relief to see Nicodemus still around in 2004, too bad poor Ralph couldn't... *sniffle* Waaah! :'( Evil author! (ha ha just teasing) I'll be a CoS then. Cheers!
Author's Response: Hmmm... Just read through the owl-flying bit and it seems alright to me. Mind you, I do have the advantage of being the writer, so I already know exactly what's going on. :D Hey-ho. And would you really wish eternity on Ralph? Always the odd one out? Always lonely? He really loved being in the world, and would have hated the reclusive lifestyle of Nicodemus and Agnes. I think it was kinder to let him die, to be honest. :) And hurrah! I'm glad you noticed my CoS link (although how could you miss it, when I've posted it EVERYWHERE around here...). For the benefit of anyone else reading this, my story now continues on CoS Forums, here: http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?t=21219.
Author's Response: UPDATE: It's alright. The staff have been really helpful, and this story will continue to be updated here on MuggleNet. Hurrah!
Congratulations on making the Featured Story list! You deserve it. Ive been recommending you to anyone who will listen (and anyone who won't too). And now Chapter 4 makes sense in the bigger picture. ;) Thanks for really putting me in the Christmas spirit this year! Cheers!
Author's Response: Thanks! I was really surprised to see my story there on the side-bar -- but then I checked my email... :D And thank you for recommending me -- you really are a star.
Hoping for future chapters on Mrs. Flamel now.
