From the Battered Journal of Remus J. Lupin by Kerichi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

My affinity to the journal compels me to keep it at hand. I, too, am rather shabby, and yet there are pages of my life still unwritten.... Remus reflects on his life and love for Tonks in a companion fic to Moonlight and Shadow that parallels chapter nine onward.

These last few entries have made me slightly depressed. Not because they were bad or anything, just because I'm depressed for Remus.

His thoughts about family nearly killed me. Especially after reading DH. But anyway, lovely as usual!

Author's Response: Remus definitely has a melancholy side. He can\'t help it with the life he\'s lived. That he has hope and faith to go on is so amazing to me!

The website does not like me tonight. It's been absolute horrible. But anyway. I thought that after Sirius died Harry would be going to Remus for help and he'd be the one that takes over the fatherly role in a way. It killed me when he was barely seen in book six, and then book seven just disappointed me in most aspects.

Remus was my favorite (next to Snape) and I just wished that he would have gotten more book time, and a more developed past and a proper death scene...it was just very depressing to read about him and Tonks laying like they were sleeping and that's that.

A part of me died along with him, and I don't think I can forgive her for just casting him aside. How dramatic am I? haha. =D

Author's Response: I threw HBP across the room. After staying up all night to read DH I just went to bed and cried, so I feel your pain and appreciate the drama, lol. It was hard to accept that Remus was never meant to be more than a friendly teacher and friend of Harry\'s dad and godfather, never a father/uncle figure but at least I get to write stories that give him a past, present and future! :)

I literally laughed out loud at the Maria paraody! Not only can you write stellar stories, you have an amazing taste for movies. haha. Sound of Music is my all, all, all time favorite!

I love you that much more right now! haha. I can just imagine Lupin there completely into the musical as those around him sit there snogging each other like mad. Ahhh, greatness!

Author's Response: Yay for you having a fab imagination! Don\'t you think Tonks would have been a great Maria? Not that I\'d want Remus to have kids with Dorcas, LOL.

It was tough getting through that last one. It's not that I took Sirius' death really hard it's just that I always sympathized with the people who had lost him and this just brought all of that out on the table. I don't think JK really brought that out except for in Harry at the end of book five. I really wish that there would have been more on the subject. I suppose this just falls under the category of "How the Character, Remus John Lupin, Got The Crappy End of the Stick in the Harry Potter Series."

*le sigh*

Author's Response: I took his death hard because I thought it was cruel that Sirius never got a chance to truly live, to move on from the past, to be loved by more than a few friends. I agree that Remus\' character was never really developed. I think Jo planned it that way so when he died, most readers wouldn\'t do more than say \'oh, that\'s too bad.\' *le sigh*

So you are just determined to make me loose it aren't you? This was amazingly awesome and sad at the same time. In my mind that's how Tonks and Remus are living out their lives...I haven't gone out of "book seven denial" yet and probably never will where that is concerned. I absolutely loved this one!

Author's Response: I have to admit, when I wrote the daydream, I thought \'if she kills off either Tonks or Remus, I\'m going to write an AU story that makes Remus\' dream come true.\' It won\'t happen for a while yet, but eventually they\'ll have that happy ending!

Waiting for the Moon by Kerichi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Giant spiders, malevolent bats, wizard scouts...werewolves. Tonks finds life in Hogsmeade far from simple, while Remus discovers having a partner in touch with her inner wolf complicates his mission and his heart.

So instead of working on a research paper with a looming due date, I'm here, reading your amazing story. =D Priorities, let me tell you.

I loved this chapter, as per usual. Snape and Poppy make me laugh. And as always Remus just makes me smile. =D

Did you hear about JK admitting that Dumbledore was really gay in the series? I saw it on the news this morning and thought it was a joke...but it's true. There goes my Dumbledore/McGonagal theory.

Author's Response: You\'re taking a break. Nothing wrong with that! ;)

Mine too, but since the fics I\'ve put that in are now alternate dimensions of the Potterverse, it doesn\'t bother me to go against Jo and make Dumbly-dorr straight. :D

Who doesn't love a cliff hanger, honestly? Even though I'm pretty sure that the elf is Kretcher. Still the effect was definitely there!!

As usual, nicely done. I'm hoping that the whole Remus becoming a father is revisted. (Naturally it will have to be for DH) But I always saw him as the fatherly type and it was odd to see him not embrace that in DH at first. Ah well. I still love him, naturally. =D

As usual: Amazingly awesome spectacularly terrific writing. (I know we're co-dependent here. haha)

Author's Response: Ah, c\'mon, mate, have another story, LOL.

I think Remus\' outburst in DH was a case of a writer forcing a character to act OOC for story purposes (showing Harry\'s maturity, the student becoming the teacher). No writer is exempt from that temptation, not even brilliant ones like Jo! :D

He was terribly bitter at Christmas wasn't he? I just wanted to give him a hug. But then again that's usually how I felt towards him. =D

Author's Response: It made me wonder...why was he so down? I couldn\'t help but want to give him a good reason...and a reason for hope! :)

A-Mazing! I absolutely loved this chapter (as I love all of them)! I never really thought about the conditions surrounding Remus when he was on this mission, and you make this seem very believable.

Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. =D

Author's Response: He\'s not having a good time, and yet, if he can make a difference in a few lives, maybe he won\'t be as bitter at the end of HBP as he sounds at Christmas!

Ack! I feel like I don't have any time to get on here and read let alone review anymore. With school starting and extra-ciriculars I'm just running on empty.

Anyway I really really really really really really....really love this story. (The seven reallys were necessary) Keep up the fabulous writing because it makes me smile when I read it. =D

Author's Response: I\'m so glad whenever you get to snatch a moment here and there to R&R! I think life is officially la vida loca to a lot of people now. I hope you get into the swing of things soon!

Haha, then you are better than me. Because people are still hearing about it with me. =D I'm just upset at the people who like him now because of book seven. But that's just me.

Author's Response: I\'m not upset, but I do shake my head over Harry naming his second Albus Severus. Snape\'s actions in book seven and his (pauses to mime vomiting) lifelong purity of love for Lily don\'t change his overall character. Snape was snarky through and through. If Harry looked past his cutting wit and unfair treatment, that\'s great, but if he thought Snape was putting on a front, he\'s fooling himself, LOL.

I'm really slipping behind. This is depressing. But anyway, the story is amazing and I love it. I can't wait to see what's going to happen between Remus and Tonks now. =D

Loveeee it.

Author's Response: I know how you feel. I\'ve been slipping behind writing, trying to juggle two stories. I\'m thinking of going to shorter weekly chapters, and hope you\'ll find a way to juggle your schedule to read! I\'m always grateful any time you do! :)

I was so happy to come on here today and see the new Chapter. Once again amazing writing.

And from what I gather reading the other reviews I'm sorry to hear about your toe. You are just too rebellious, running in the dark with no shoes. I'm glad to know that you're alright to write more, because that would be depressing. No lie. =D

Author's Response: I was so happy to read your review! (not that I\'d be happy that you\'d be depressed, lol, but the thought is sweet. *hugs*)

I'm glad I'm able to spread a little joy in the world. =D Makes me feel complete!

Author's Response: Joy is a great thing to spread! (beats some of the alternatives! :D)

Absolutely hooked on your stories! It's official. =D The first 3 chapters were great and I'm just sorry that I'm too tired to continue on tonight. But that leaves me for something to read tomorrow!!

Snape was great, favorite character since book one! Loveeeeee him! Any story that has both Lupin and Snape in it, is automatically amazing in my book.

But even if Snape wasn't in this it would still be amazing. Can't wait to continue reading! Keep up the awesome job!

Author's Response: Since I\'m hooked on reviews, we\'ll be co-dependent, enabling each other, lol. I definitely heart Snape, and although I didn\'t say \'I told you so\' to Snape haters who thought I wrote him too \'decent\', I thought it1 ^_~

Ah I loved it! Snape and Poppy always make me smirk.

Lupin, my lovely lovely wolf, is adorable!

Keep up the amazing work!

Author's Response: Poor Poppy...how can she compete against the memory of beautiful, idealized Lily? Even if Snape was looking for a physical outlet, I doubt she\'d be his type. :D

Baby Mine by Kerichi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Precious to me, cute as can be.... Tonks was supposed to be with Teddy at her mother's. Why couldn't she stand waiting? What caused her to look 'anguished'? Not a deathfic, just a possible explanation of why Tonks 'sped off' to find Remus.

Fantastic! Remus has been one of my top two favorites since he was introduced into the series in book three. His death probably hit my the hardest in the last book.

Tonks and him were such a great pairing. It wasn't something most would expect but it worked out. It wasn't the ideal "We're so in love" couple, but a couple that people could relate with, in my opinion. It just showed that things aren't always so easy, but they are worth it in the end.

I loved your writing style, and I think that the idea of their looming death made it even more bittersweet than it already was! Well done!

Author's Response: Thank you! Snape, Remus, Sirius, and Draco are my fab four when it comes to HP guys, and although I kept telling myself \'you know she\'s going to kill him to reunite the Marauders beyond the grave\' I wished with all my heart that she wouldn\'t.

Their death was looming in canon, but fortunately there\'s an AU category so after my DH story, I can have Remus and Tonks live--not without issues to resolve and new challenges to overcome. Like you said, \"things aren\'t always so easy, but they are worth it in the end.\" :)
