Hey you guys! Thanks for still being excited about the story. I'm rewriting it quite a bit now - but I'm going to be switching to a "distregard book 7" format. Thanks for your continued support of this story.

Secrets, Lies and Guinness Pies by adjectived noun

Rated:
Summary: Lupin handles Harry's grieving in the most insightful and mature way he can: by taking him out and getting him utterly plastered. However, as one rather astute young auror notes, drinking and pretending nothing is wrong is NOT dealing with your problems, and Remus Lupin must confront his grieving.

Well, the preamble to chapter 3 killed me, it was so damn funny. The story itself...sigh. A pleasure to read. A joy. Not that it's happy, but so, so incredibly good. So, thanks for sharing. I look forward to more.

Right Under His Nose by CathCarl

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Harry comes back from serving detention with Ron and finds Ginny and Dean in a rather compromising position. A strange and confusing set of new feelings erupts... like wanting to punch Dean Thomas senseless. But what's confusing Harry most of all is that Ginny no longer seems to be just Ron's little sister... she's a beautiful girl, standing right under his nose-- exactly where he hadn't been looking.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to review this - it's the first story that got me really hooked on fanfic, MONTHS ago! It seemed like a great story, true to cannon, and remains excellent. Keep up the good work - I'm really enjoying it!

Author's Response: I\'m glad you\'ve finally gotten around to it! ;) I do know what you mean, though... there are a few stories that I keep coming back to, stories that have inspired me so much, and I can\'t even remember if I reviewed. Alas. :) Thanks for reading and reviewing, though. I\'m glad you like the story.

Red by rockinfaerie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: James Potter's once privileged and sheltered life alters dramatically as Lord Voldemort increases his stronghold on Great Britain. While a rational but brilliant Transfiguration teacher, a grieving socialite mother, a star-gazing, forest-dwelling centaur, and a host of other characters contemplate the vicious and constant conflict between Good and Evil, James embarks on a dangerous life fuelled by passion, love, anger and blood...

Things can only get redder.

Chapter 20 is up, and it's been nominated for the Quicksilver Quills!

I'm so glad I discovered this fic - it's rare to find a story from the Marauder era that doesn't paint Sirius as a complete...anyway, I love your characterizations and the story itself is divine. So well written. I'm kinda glad I came at it this far along so I got a chance to read so much at once. Keep up the excellent work!

Author's Response: Thank you very much - I\'m glad you like it - although it is a huge amount of stuff to read at the one time - I never expected it to be this long, even! I know what you mean about Sirius - I mean, there are traits of him in the books that are rarely seen in fanfiction, and vice-versa - I believe that he\'s supposed to be loyal, caring, and very rebellious, not to mention a tad arrogant, but also very intelligent, which I hope I\'ve conveyed properly... anyway, I\'m really happy you like it!

I can't believe I mentioned Sirius in my review but not James! *smacks head* I wanted to mention that I like the "visible" change James is going through - there was something that changed him during this period of time (when Lily noticed he was different), and this is evident in your writing of the story. Your style is so poetic and lovely. I'm anxious to read more.

Author's Response: Thanks once again! I must say I like writing James - he\'s probably the Marauder that we readers know least about, which I suppose gives more freedom in terms of writing him in fanfiction, and at the same time I didn\'t want to make this one-dimensional \"perfect\" character, because to be honest I think I\'d find him a bit dull! I don\'t know when the next installment will be, but I hope it\'ll be soon. I don\'t have a huge amount of spare time on my hands these days, I\'m afraid!

It just keeps getting better and better - thanks for updating. I really enjoyed this chapter (although the ending confused me a bit).

Jeez. I had to read this twice because...wow. I had to stop a couple times. This is like Sophie's Choice. Not even a choice, really - but at the same time... He didn't do it with malice or hate, or because he wanted to, but he did it just the same, didn't he? Wow. Horrid, powerful, sick, sad... Really well written. Really. And so sad. I keep saying that but...Wow. I've already read the rest and am hooked on this story, but I do hope at some point there is a conversation between these two involving forgiveness. You gotta know Harry is beating himself up over this.

Yep, I keep thinking about this and have more I wanted to say (after reading some reviews that mentioned this) - I totally get why Harry'd run away. He loved Ginny, had to rape her (alternative? letting her be killed and Voldemort gain power) and then thought she was dead. Of course he couldn't deal. Yes, someone more balanced and stable (ie, someone who could deal with the trauma, someone who isn't Harry) may have been able to face what he did, but this is Harry Potter. Also, I love that Neville "gets" what happened and was able to explain it Charlie in a somewhat reasonable way. He understands that Harry did what he had to, but also how bad it was for all involved. I love that Arthur still wants to protect Harry, despite what happened with Ginny. I love that Hermione (the perfectionist) first thought she was pregnant, then totally screwed things up with Ron when he proposes (when she wanted him to postpone it and he did), and he in turn screwed things up more permenently with her, but that he's happy to be a dad. I do hope that they can put their mistakes past them, though. I also love that the kids end up in Hufflepuff - although I could see Rhea in Ravenclaw since she's clearly quite bright. But I get that she's different enough from her dad that she doesn't have his temper and fits into Hufflepuff. This story has completely sucked me in and I look forward to finding out what happens next (although I am really impatient!). I know how hard it is to update quickly - I'm bad at it because I want things to be perfect but I get now how crazy it makes readers. *I* know what happens...*sigh* Thanks for the great story. You have an amazing talent.

Author's Response: *blinks* Thank you! It\'s very wonderful to have someone so thoroughly ensnared. I can\'t explain the plot bunny that lead to this story, it just sort of evolved and I never knew if I really had a story or not, but reviews like this make me think all that hair pulling might\'ve been worth it!

I'm so glad I found another of your stories - this one has sucked me in (as did A Secret Love, which SLAYED me, it was so terrific). The characters are well-drawn, I think the adults they have become are very on-the-mark given what they've been through. Bad-ass Harry is good, so good. Quite sad though, isn't it? But don't we all love a bit of angst? Keep it up.

Author's Response: Thank you! What a glowing review! *blushes* Thanks!

Good stuff all around. I do appreciate that Ginny didn't run from a sad break-up right into Harry's bed. Too cliche and too...not them. I really love this story - keep up the good work!

Author's Response: I agree whole heartedly......Ive worked way to hard on this story for it to be that easy......lol....and have you snuck into my house and read the next chapter???? lol....either that or you have read my mind....hehehe

Poor H and G had enough angst to last them a lifetime - it took ages to get them together, and when they go back to "reality" they'll have enough to deal with. This was a tad sickly sweet, but that was diffused by the splash of Aqua. As ever, well done. :)

Author's Response: yeah i thought we needed to get snapped out of that moment to keep it from being tooo sweet to stomach

Well, I've been enjoying this story and have to say, I've been where Ginny is and it's horrid. VERY well written! Can't wait to see what happens next, but I don't like this Phimmie chick. She's icky. I don't get what Harry sees in her though...

MOMENTS OF BLISS by moonymaniac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Remus Lupin is a man with a tragic past, filled with pain, suffering and sorrow. But it is also a past filled with great adventure, true friendship and…love? Even though the odds were against him, Remus found happiness at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He had the Marauders, he was a prefect and his transformations were less horrible, thanks to his Animagi friends. What more could a teenage werewolf want? And how long could his happiness last? Remus and the Marauders prove that in the saddest of lives and darkest of times, there can still be moments of bliss.

Remus centric but with a lot of the other Marauders. This story is a romance, but has almost as much general Marauder era background and side story as romance.
Pre-HBP and DH, so some things from DH will be disregarded, as the warning indicates, but some Spoilers will be incorporated.

Sometimes I'm slow but better late than never, eh? It's taken me weeks to leave you a review, and I don't know why because this is a fantastic story. I love how you did Remus' background, his parents, etc. It's easy to imagine that's how things were for him. He's a great character, and you've done him justice, I think. As for this chapter, it's about time *someone* (because Remus is too...nice?...to do it himself) gave Lindi what for. She's all about assuming the worst, not letting people in, jumping to conclusions, being suspicious...although I do identify with her - she's a great OC, very well drawn. I'm also glad you made Sirius less of a playboy. He's obviously been around the block but he's not a total man-slut, that's just a good rep for a teenage boy to have (in the mind of a teenage boy). I also like that Lily and James are developing a relationship, instead of allofasudden being in wuv. Works well. Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading more.

Author's Response: *gives Julybug an it\'s-about-time glare* No, I\'m just kidding! :-) I\'m always just so happy to hear from someone. Especially when they have such nice things to say. I\'m so glad you have enjoyed it so far. Thank you for your wonderful comments on Lindi, the best of which is that you can identify with her. That means she seems somewhat real, and I\'m so glad. And that is exactly the way I think of Sirius. :) Thank you for the lovely review...even if it is late. LOL! :))

You know, the level of excitement I get at learning that you've updated is... a little unhealthy. I feel like a giggy teenager(when of course, I'm *really* old)... Looking forward to it, as usual. :)

Author's Response: Oh, this put such a smile on my face! Thank you! I only hope you continue to look forward to the next ones. *Really* old, eh? LOL Join the club! :-)

Good God, woman - do you want to kill me? Excellent unfolding of emotions, what an incredible grasp you have on these characters... *sigh* It's a delight to read this story. But for heaven's sake, can they just get in a good snog now? :)

Author's Response: <.<

*Muwahahahahahahahah* *evil grin* I absolutely couldn’t resist. I’ve had this chapter written for well over a year and while I had to do some significant rework on it, the end stayed the same. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the comment on my grasp on the characters. I’m glad you enjoyed it, but I’m afraid now is not a good time as someone is beating down the door! ;) Thank you, Julybug!

Since I reviewed before I even read, I think it's only fair to leave a review now that I *have* read the story. Bravo! As usual, you kept me rivited to my seat as I read about the next chapter in Moony's life (as well as everyone else's). I second the motion that one of the best things about this chapter (and story in general) is that you don't make Peter out to be a twit, instead allowing him to come up with a plausible cover story - he was friends with the others for a reason. It also shows he's capable of making crap up. I like that Lindi is still a wimp - fitting her character - when dealing with Darlene but then at least *tries* to fight back. Lindi's so wonderfully flawed. Excellent all around!

Author's Response: :-)

(PS - I'm leaving this review twice, since last time it went to the Prologue...not sure why.)

Author's Response: *chuckle* That is very fairminded of you, Julybug. Thank you. :-) You know, it\'s funny, when I first started writing, I really had to force myself not to make Peter a big loser. It really is a tempting thing to do and I fully understand the desire to just pretend he doesn\'t exist. However, with all of the wonderful comments, I\'m really glad I forced myself to be nicer to him, LOL! Seriously though, I really love the story of this doomed friendship so much. It is what hooked me on Harry Potter, and I want to try to present it as well as I can. But, you just know Peter could \"make crap up\", don\'t you? How else could he have fooled these super bright people, including Dumbledore? O.O Peter really is one of the very important characters of the series. So, yeah... Wimpy Lindi flawed? Oh, yeah, she really is! Thank you so much for the great review...both of them, lol! :-)

Normally I don't leave a review before the chapter's even posted, but I'm terribly impatient. Looking forward to reading, though. And congrats on the nomination!

Author's Response: :-) I\'m flattered that you would be impatient to read the next chapter, I hope you like it, and thank you for the congrats.
