I'm an adult fan of Harry Potter. I think fan fiction is a wonderful way to encourage creativity, reading, and writing skills!
thanks, as always, to my sister for "making" me read Harry Potter.
oh- I can't resist: one of my all-time favorite fan-fics:
- "Once Upon A Thyme" - you can find it at http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1530065/1/ trust me, you'll love it if you like nice long tension-filled clever Hr/D stories! This particular author, DeChantel, has another long Hr/D story, too- look for it at her fanfiction.net profile page- I think it's even better than this one!
Links to both stories by DeChantel as well as some other faves of mine can be found at my fanfiction.net page: www.fanfiction.net/~professormary
just look for the "favorite stories" icon! Enjoy!!!
Hey- I have a new story starting- look for it at www.schnoogle.com- "Shifting Perspectives" by Professor mary... it's a Hr/D body-swapping Hogwarts-days adventure! enjoy! find it at:
http://www.schnoogle.com/authorLinks/Professor_Mary/
hey- you know, if you like and you haven't already done so, you can list this fic on www.schnoogle.com 's "sorting" as a general fic or a Hr/D... I have something listed there and I get a lot of creative input & feedback through those forums & reviews...
Author's Response: That's a great idea... I'm trying to sort through their website. I'm completely incompetent when it comes to computers. But, I'll definitely get the story up there if I can. Thanks again for the suggestion. By the way, what is the name of your fic? I'm interested in reading it.
This was really great, Taigon. are you sure you need a beta? seems like you don't to me. But if you like, I would be happy to fill the role. Maybe you can do the same for me? let's email and chat about it- mine is professormary@mugglenet.com
As for this chapter, I think you did a fantastic job with Harry and Ron- especially Ron- sometimes, in fanfic, his feelings get too simplified- and you didn't let that happen here. harry was great, too- I'm glad that he came around to see that he owed Hermione an apology. And his feelings of guilt are very much in-character for him.
well, this is going well- can't wait to see more! thanks, prof mary
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I sent you an email about betaing. I really hope that we can work something out, I'm such a huge fan of yours.
I, too, loved this chapter, Taigan! It's been interesting to see how Draco's thoughts have evolved since the beginning! Even down in the dungeons, though, he's been a bit of a mess. And that's been a neat consistentency- to see him continuously unnerved and trying again and again to make sense of his surroundings. Also, I really enjoyed seeing Hermione and Dumbledore through his eyes. You've got their characterizations down- and it was very cool to "read" them through Draco. Excellent work! (and I love having a first look!) thanks, prof mary
Author's Response: Thank you for all your help... you are a wonderful asset and I love working with you on our stories.
great job- this such a well-written story. I'm glad your taking your time with H/DR- they are such different people- and the plot is really coming along nicely, too. I am sucked in! As for your questions, I have no idea about the MfMagic and the HBP- I agree, JKR likes to throw curve balls.... I wonder...
sounds like a fun story- I like that they 'play off' of each other.
Author's Response: yea i didn't know how they should work together at first and i'm glad i finally came up with that idea
some great ideas here in your writing- plus, i'm a big fan of this couple!
really a sweet and intriging story!
beautifully angsty!!!! I love it (no surprise, there!)
really nice work- I absolutely enjoy this story! and great details!
Author's Response: Thank you! For the review, and for staying patient.. I'm setting the story up.. it's all growing to a climax now.
thanks for a great update- I love your cozy descriptions of Hogsmeade, 3 Broomsticks, and the Christmas lights- as well as all Draco's angsty thoughts.
Author's Response: Thank you so much- I really appreciate reviews, more than you could imagine. I've just finished chapter seven, so I think it's safe to post the next one soon!
delicious!
Author's Response: Thanks! By the way, I've been reading your stories... REALLY great. I hope YOU update soon! lol
this story is just really going great! and, despite what I write, I don't "ship Hr/D" either (I saw you mention it in one of your author's responses!)- but the dynamics are really fun to play with! your story is just so creative.... can't wait to see what's coming next!
Author's Response: Wow, thanks SO very much! I'm glad to have met someone so enthralled with the Hr/D dynamics. They ARE fun to play with. : )
I really enjoying your writing. I can picture everything- the mood, the tone, and the surroundings. prof mary
Author's Response: Wow, thanks so much... really. It means so much. If it weren't for your kind words I'd have little motivation to continue.
traveling by oven, eh? I hear it's the only way to go!
i like the rings bit- and the necklace- am very curious about the unknown benefacter, though!
YIKES! how very sad for Hermione! what ever could be next?????
