I know what you're thinking. You're probably thinking, What kind of username is x_lily_evans_x? And I agree whole-heartedly with you. x_lily_evans_x is a username that I'd chosen at the tender age of thirteen and five-sixths, and while most people at that age were capable of thinking wise beyond their years, I was, very unfortunately, not one of their number. And then now, two years on, when I'm capable of a higher level of thinking, I've wanted to change my penname loads of times, but it's just not allowed here. And because I have quite a number of stories up, I just simply cannot be bothered to sign up for a new account. So I'm stuck with that lousy penname. The end.

I'd like to thank all my former beta readers, and Joanna (lucilla_pauie) for beta'ing Intertwining Fates. Cliché Nation by just_the_contrary

Summary: A compilation of the most commonly used Harry Potter clichés in the fandom. Features Angsty!Harry, Sweet!Draco, Head Dorms, sudden romances in the forms of Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny and of course, Draco/Hermione, because what's a cliché without them?

The Marauders also make an appearance in this fic, including Lily/Lily's best friend/Lily's other best friend.

Warning: mention of hippopotamuses inside.

“My father is horrible to me. I hate him!” he cried, suddenly sobbing and grabbing onto Hermione. “I have had such a tortured childhood, he is so mean! He’s a Death Eater! He wants me to be a Death Eater too, but with my newfound personality I just can’t bring myself to be one. Oh, woe is me!”
This is just so original-- not! *falls about laughing* Plus, the lily-kristin-anna with james-remus-sirius was so cliched! It's actually really impossible that Lily's best friends and Lily fall in love with all the Marauders except Peter. And you're making Peter pee so much, it's ingenious!

I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE HARRY'S ANGST. It's so ridiculously funny, and it's come to the point whereby he is permanently in that state, and even when he's not feeling that angry, he's still talking in CAPS.
I think you're on holiday (aren't you?) and I believe when you return, you'll have an angry horde of fans pelting stuff at you for keeping them waiting for such a long time. And I foresee something... I will be one of them.

You know, I just thought of something. There was one cliche in the Marauder Era that you missed out!!! It's not really important though, but here it is:
1) Lily walks to the Prefect's Compartment with a grin.
2) Lily sees James in there and a)snaps at him to get the heck out of here, b) sees his Head Boy badge and screams before running out, c) gives him a slap.
3) James acts super mature and handles things coolly.
4) Lily a)looks surprised, b)is still annoyed with him and finds some stupid excuse to snap at him.

Oh gosh! I LOVED this paragraph. It's so cliched! A lot of D/Hr or D/G fics show Draco suddenly being Mr Nice and Sensitive! This totally covers them all!
