(AU Fic) Two twins named Remus and Rachael Lupin have been inseperable for the eight years they've been on this Earth. But one fateful trip into the forest has changed all of that.
Excerpt from Chapter Twenty Three - A Second Chance
Professor Lupin walked over and sat down at the foot of his daughter’s bed.
“How are you?” he asked, watching his daughter carefully.
“Fine,” she answered, although she could have been better.
“How could you-,”
“Please dad,” Rachael cut him off. “Sirius already gave me the ‘how could you’ lecture.” Professor Lupin smiled.
“Did he now?”
“Yes and he got through to me pretty well.”
“Good, I just hope you know never to do something like that again.”
“I’m not going to, Mum’s not worth it.” Professor Lupin clicked his tongue.
“You can’t say that,” he said quietly, getting up and heading for the door. “Everyone deserves a chance to change. Just as you tried to prove that to your mother, one day she’s going to prove it to you. Everyone deserves a second chance.”
*Warning, some mental abuse and later a little physical, nothing terribly bad, just a warning*

It started out nicely. Harry’s lines were in character (I could see him saying what he did), and the lyrics were well chosen.
I do feel it could be elaborated. Why were they fighting about Sirius? Harry just said a simple “We had another row yesterday.” Emphasize on that! Isn’t this argument the reason Harry feels how he feels and the base of the entire one-shot? You need a flashback or another way of explaining to the reader this argument.
Another thing you could add to make this fic a tad bit longer and deeper is to give the reader full knowledge of how Harry feels. The entire fic is basically dialogue and dialogue alone can’t explain the whole story while the lyrics of the song can’t explain all the emotions.
Don’t take this the wrong way; your dialogue was excellent. It’s just missing description and action to back it up.

Author's Response: Aw, thankyou! Don't worry, the next chapter is happier than this one ... but I'll warn you now, this is not a happy story! Obviously I don't want to give much away, but there's going to be quite a few deaths in the later chapters...unfortunately Voldemort doesn't really stop to consider the feelings of others (Very rude of him, don't you think?!)

Author's Response: lol it was about the least cliched thing I could come up with! Fortunately...oops, I mean unfortunately...Petunia's a muggle so not allowed into St. Mungo's - the hospital made a special exception for Lily's parents but will not let any more muggles inside. Which is very good, cos I don't think poor Lils could have coped with an annoying sister at the same time!
