~LucillaJoanna (LJ)aka lucilla_pauie (here) aka Dayang Lucilla (dramione.org/ff.net) is busy-busy with original fiction. But every now and then she gets a fit of fan fiction, like allergy. A beloved allergy.

I'm a Filipina, living in the Philippines, spending my waking hours reading and writing. I have high hopes, like most everyone, but for now, I relish writing and being read here.

The stories you'll find here are a mad medley. I love the HP-universe in its entirety, and so write vastly within this vast world of people and eras. However, I don't stray far from romance-- you know, pairings and life lemons. I love those quotes that more often than not end up hackneyed in email/SMS forwards. If I don't quote them directly, they inspire the pieces you'll see here.

Pairings:

I don't think there's one I can't or won't write (except slash, younger generation/older generation, OC's). I was hooked into fan fiction for these snippets of sweets we don't get to read from the HP books. Even though I write horror in RL, I'm a very girly girl, the kind that squeals while reading the Twilight series even for the nth time. Incidentally, unless they're Joyce Carol Oates or Neil Gaiman or maybe William Faulkner come back to life, I scoff at those who scoff at Twilight (friendly&fond scoffing, now. ^_^ Everyone's entitled to their own tastes and opinions, aye?). Back to topic, it's a disappointment to shippers to favorite me because I write Dramione this week, and then write a Ron/Hermione the next. Hee.

Asked what my OTP is, I'll say it's Ron/Hermione, but that's only because I love Hermione and I'm loyal to what JKR decided. But I think I don't have an OTP. I ride, I ship, I bike and even cook them all. I have Haxime and Frangelina. I also have a list of the pairings I have yet to try, but I'm too immersed in three WIP's, both here and in RL.

General Fics:

If not in the Romance subcats, my stories go here. They're all dear to me. They're mostly Challenge entries, so they were written with motives. ^_^ Five are Post-DH yarns, and two of these (Little Things; A Shower of Stardust) concentrate on the white noise after the War.

Great Lady of Magic was originally five chapters, but due to the Challenge deadline, became a one-shot instead. The cramming and compression seemed to have worked nonetheless; it's my first First Place since I started joining the Challenges in New Year 2007!

The Prince's Unshared Tale: Uncut is my little peace offering to Snape, whom I have slandered until July 22, 2007. Still, you have to admit he's been very stubborn and stupid.

The Art of Weaselling: I enjoyed this one so much. I liked Neville's grandma's inveigling tactics and Great Uncle Algie's slyness. What is One Picture Worth? is my stab at a historical. Loved the research and the flowery, courtly English I had to use, though I tried not to make it a la Shakespeare too much.

Bonds of Magic has been solicited into someone's blog during the DH fever. It still comes up when I google my real name. I'm embarassed, LOL. It was too fluffy compared to the book. Phew.

Alternate Universe:

Dark/Angst, I won't; Humor, I can't. I think Ron's Best Friend can be classified as the latter, but to be safe from sneers, I just put it into Ron/Hermione. AU is the only other cat I have here. How to Hold Sway is very much at the top of my favorites and I'm thinking of expanding on some questions it triggered from readers. I originally posted it under Dramione after the Challenge finished, but shippers complained. Hehe.

At the Forums:

This will be the "Beta Forums" you see on the Nav Bar to the side. I haunt General Fan Fiction Discussion, Madam Pomfrey's Character Clinic, The Reference Desk, The Beta Guild, and of course, SPEW (the Society for the Promotion of Proper Evaluation for Writers by Readers). I'm a very loyal Hufflepuff, redundancy intended. I'm not active in the common room (because if I join the games, I'll be addicted!), but I do my small part.

Real Life:

I've had my first book, so to speak (hehe), in December 2007, when my story was included in the third annual run of the anthology, Philippine Speculative Fiction. That's the name for the genre of fantasy/horror/scifi and the cracks in between. My story's title is Hamog (dew).

I also write book reviews, handling Classics, Contemporary Classics and the Trivia and Quiz sections of READ magazine. I've also landed the On Reading two-page spread and the Seasonal Review (with my pic!). I nearly choked on my chicken burger when I was first included in the masthead.

In December 2005, which is not too long ago, and which is why I'm rather lazy, I won First Place in a nationwide essay contest regarding teen pregnancy (sponsored by The Advocates for Youth Philippines Foundation, Pringles and UNFPA). I never used the theme park tickets, I still have the box of feminine wash sachets and karaoke bar gift certificates, and the first things I bought with the money were books: The Count of Monte Cristo; On Writing; Stardust; The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe; By The River Piedra, I Sat Down and Wept; The Alchemist; Flipped; The Phantom of the Opera; Wuthering Heights...

I dream about shopping for this many books in one go again. I earn bookstore GC's now, but I only get five books at most. *sigh*

I have been deaf since I was thirteen due to meningitis. My mania for books, fan fiction, and scripts is understandable, no? I'm so glad I'm not blind. Meningitis can be that cruel.

It has been kind to me, however. I'm happy. Sometimes people don't take me seriously because I'm too bubbly. So here I did try to be sober. Hemhem.

I have two brothers and one sister. Onchie is a Mining Engineering junior, Josh is in seventh grade and Jouie is in third grade.

I have a mongrel, Jego.

I love egg yolks.

I moderate a local Harry Potter club, MaCofWiz, in which I'm in Ravenclaw, and in which I'm the one who almost always plans and plots the outings.

I was born under Libra, Tiger and the hazelnut tree. ^_^

The Unseemly Proposal by sparx

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Read to find out how this one unseemly proposal causes absolute chaos in their lives! THIS STORY IS NOT HBP and DH COMPATIBLE! Hey all! Check out my personal info for the expected date of the next update. =)

i love this story! simple but poignant. both draco and hermione are in-character as well, which is probably the reason why so many have favorite-ed this. the romance is also unwinding nicely, and it's rather unique in unfolding, almost always very subtle and sneaky for the two leads! great job, girl!

oh and one more thing, being filipina, i was quite thrilled reading about imelda marcos here! (though of course, im not proud of that vain and corrupt woman) still, that was a lovely detail!
and im really touched about her brothers' concern, its what makes ginny almost as special as harry! the only female Weasley in generations and the love of her family that springs from that.

Author's Response: yay! im just glad that people understood my imelda marcos reference...i wasnt sure if anyone would....

i love this chapter! the Gaelic trivia, the sweet interaction, Charlie's insight...Oliver's Scottish speech charms as well. Really, i'm loving this...

Author's Response: I loved writing Charlie... he\'s just so much like an over grown boy in my mind :-) Thank you so much! *hugs*

oh, i forgot to mention how touched i am with Oliver's letters. and the blue roses! nothing short of magical. and now, this. you've put a lot of work in this one, too! quite clever to put in that back story of Hermione attacking Oliver in the shower!

but oh no, i hope that thing Oliver has seen is NOT virulent!

~still reading when I'm supposed to be completing my own fanfic, joanna.

Author's Response: You know, you are the first person to comment on the possibility of Oliver becoming infected? Go you! Now, I\'m not telling if it is.... *evil smirk* I know, good reading is horrible when you\'re trying to get your own writing done, isn\'t it? *lol* I\'m flattered that you find this distracting :-)

I have to tell you how much I appreciate you reviewing each chapter like this - It\'s absolutely wonderful to be able to go and compare your reactions to each chapter like this, and I appreciate all those who are kind enough to do so *HUGS*

I tell you, Ny. This might get featured. I hope so! You would surely deserve it. Maybe you should go and review and correct all your tiny spelling errors, and then voila!

Your imagery is superb as usual. And again, you inserted a mystery here. What could that be about the marten? Hmmm... Delicioso! You know how to satisfy and at the same time, bait!

Keep it up, I'll always be here to cheer you on.

~joanna

Author's Response: Why thank you Joanna :-) I actually already have several of the chapters done; I have been fortunate enough to get the help of a pair of wonderful betas. One of these days soon I will go in and replace all of the old chapters with the new, corrected versions ;-p

I\'m glad the mystery is still keeping people interested, but this authoress isn\'t telling anything, yet.... *lol*

1. Ron was endearing here.

2. Ginny is so wicked! But half my laughs on this chapter are from her.

3. The other half were from Mrs. Wood. My gosh! Ny, please tell us how to pronounce her name. Is it 'bride'? Sorry, I'm not familiar with Scottish names, do tell! They're beautiful.

4. I'm learning a lot of Scottish brogue now. I no longer have to reread their sentences! I understand perfectly! Though I do wonder why they call girls, 'hen'. ^_^

5. Great ending! Great kiss! Elegant descriptions of sensations!

6. I can't wait for the wedding.

7. I can't wait for the wedding!

Author's Response: You are a dear, you know that? I enjoyed giving Ron some small bit of closure here. He really does care about her, even though he is begining to realize he was never in love with her.
Ginny is just far to much fun to write; she\'s just so naughty!
I believe that Brighde is pronounced with a sort of buzzing gz sound; think like saying the buzzing \'G\' sound in the name \'Zsa Zsa Gabor\', so it sort of ends up like a cross between Briggette and Bridge. Hope that helps you!
LOL - the wedding is in queue now, so you shouldn\'t have to wait too much longer :-)

i had to got to sleep yesterday, so i finished this chapter only now. im glad you were delighted with my reviews, hehe, although you have so many of them already! you see, this is what you get for writing like this. ^_^ nice spells, despicable malfoy, awww-y fred, macho oliver! oh my. i can't wait to open the next chapter, i hope oliver's ok. if he's not, i might rant!

Author's Response: Yes, sleeping is important, isn\'t it? *lol* I\'m glad you liked the spells - they were fun to do and Malfoy is always a dispicable ferret, which makes him perfect for many stories *grins*

Author's Response: Thank you so much! This one was one of my favourite chapters to write, next to the one I just submitted today. And yes, hot cocoa is incredibly addicting, isn\'t it? *lol*

"It was almost a tease, having the perfect source of potential mischief just sitting there, reading Hogwarts, A History and as inaccessible to the pranksters as Snape’s undergarment drawer." i laughed so much in this one, and you know, you also have this penchant of making humorous side comments splattered all over the chapter to make sure there are no dull moments. ^_^ im verypiqued about the malfoys, hmmm. >oh and about my guess about oliver getting infected, please evanesco it from your naughty evil thoughts!

Author's Response: Yeay! I don\'t consider myself a naturally funny person, so I\'m always a bit afraid my humour will come out a bit lame. It\'s wonderful to know that I\'m succeeding :-) As for Oliver, I can\'t promise anything...

"...the phantom feel of tangled curls still brushing his nose." awww. have i said anything about good writing? and Mr Granger is so...heart-wrenching. i had no idea you would incorporate a back story like that, mrs granger dying during the war.

i can;t wait now for hermione's meeting with the old mrs wood!

and this mystery oliver holmes is in the middle of is getting on my nerves in a good way. this is trite, but i can't help say it: UPDATE SOON!

Author's Response: Thank you. Though I write each story for myself, once that story has found it\'s audience that appreciates what I\'m trying to do, I agonize over every new chapter (and drive my beta nuts with it, I\'m sure), and I don\'t think I fully relax until I find that I\'ve succeeded in satisfying both my own creative impulses, and the audience who have invested in it.
LOL - yes, that meeting is coming up shortly, isn\'t it? Mrs. Wood is definitely a memorable character!

Sins of the Father by TheVault

Rated: Professors •
Summary: There was something about him that made him irresistible to her. Siobhan Murphy will go to any lengths to ascertain her deepest desires - but when the object of those desires is a married man twice her age with secrets darker than she can imagine, she will find herself caught in a scandalous liaison that she can't walk away from. Not Canon-Compliant.
Reviewer: lucilla_pauie Signed
Date: 07/03/08 Title: Chapter 22: Chapter 22: The Final Departure

I'm glad I gave this story a chance despite the alarming amount and combination of warnings. It has been another nice deviation from my usual fluffy reads. My review for now sums up what I read in one long but happy sitting.

I'm a stranger to Siobhan's way of thinking. It fascinated me, getting to know her. 'There's more to her, there's more to her', each chapter chants. She's by turns misanthropic, but to people who deserve it. The slack in her morals is barely noticeable; what is on spotlight is a formidable young woman who gives her everything to what she sets herself to do.

And of course, there's her extraneous past which rivals Harry's own. Siobhan is so intriguing. So multi-faceted. The thrill in reading Sins is watching her, reading her thoughts, her agenda, and her relentlessness. She's very vivid. Very charismatic despite being wily in her schemes to get to Lucius. I can't help but grin and cheer her on as she got there step by devious step and barb after subtle or blunt barb.

'Trysts' could be an alternative title to the story, as most chapters are dominated by these sinful lovers' rendezvousing-- which is the larger sinful pleasure of reading this aside from the vixen that is Siobhan.

Chapter 20's ending took my breath away. That was so heart-stoppingly debonair and devoted of Lucius. Gods. And then Chapter 21 and 22: his apathy to his elves' comfort notwithstanding, even if he has condoned murder and torture and may have participated in them himself, what he did is quite an impressive bound toward atonement. And all for Siobhan?

I'm buying Lucius/Siobhan now. I see what Anna and Kasey are talking about.

Siobhan appears to me to be having issues about deviousness and nefariousness. She, involved with a married man, stands in one side; Lucius being a Death Eater stands on the other. Something niggles at the back of my mind about hypocrisy in this, but it's a soft niggling. Siobhan's conflict is somehow as charismatic as its possessor. I'm not of a mind to shake her at all. I shake my head in sympathy and in confusion myself.

To quote Amy Tan, I love this story's intelligence of voice. With bated breath and impatience I await the updates. Up to Chapter 16, while Siobhan plotted, pleasured and plagued herself from planning to seduce Lucius, to keeping him seduced and then to growing wary about their mutual seduction, it has been slow, with hardly any nudges plotwise aside from getting the pairing together, but I only noticed this after the dizzying turns the succeeding batch of chapters twisted with. You must already know this, but your writing is superior, Jenna. This is a masterpiece you have here, surpassing Barbara Cartland's rather tawdry and simple dashing-devil-may-care-duke&feisty-country-lass romances.

I won't comment on the cliffhanger, it makes me want to Apparate to Sweden, Full Body-Bind Anna and the dogs, shove you off your laptop, and have a look.
