Barty's Story by Cruciatus Love

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Barty Crouch Jr. is willing to give up everything for his master. He would go to any great length do to His bidding.

Follow Barty as he takes his steps through the Quidditch World Cup in GoF. What parts of the story did you miss while reading from Harry's point of view? This is the side of the story that you really care about.

This is a really great story, Shayla. Well, all of yours are, but this one in particular, I liked.

I really like how you showed us what Barty was thinking, and how he reacted to Harry and Winky talking. It shows a side of him that we never got to see.
Also, how you showed Winky's thoughts. All really great!

Wonderful work!

Author's Response: Thanks. I\'ve never really liked this story all that much, but I\'m glad that someone else did. I do love the thoughts that go through his mind but there are just so many typos and such. Thanks for the review!

New Year by Eilime

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: One-shot

It’s New Year’s Eve and through a meaningless game, Hermione’s biggest secret is almost revealed. She escapes and finds herself face to face with the secret’s core.

3rd story in a series of Hermione/Draco one-shots (Check out my author page for more information)

Date: 05/28/07 Title: Chapter 1: One-shot

(Written for the Recommend Your Favorite (Non-Canon) Fiction)

New Year is such a fantastic story that I always read it again and again. It tells about one fateful New Years, where Hermione and her friends are in the Three Broomsticks, playing a game of 'I Never'. When it is revealed Hermione has done 'it' with someone, everyone is curious, though she refuses to tell anyone who with. She eventually leaves the bar, a little before midnight, and comes face to face with the object of her thoughts and her friends' curiosities: Draco Malfoy.

Now, this is where my most favorite part of the fic comes in. Besides the fact that there is a mysteriously unexplained friendship going on between the two of them towards the beginning, that is. It left me curious as to what could have happened between the two, what allowed them to act like that towards each other. Hermione's slight drunkness also added to the (somewhat sarcastic) hilarity of the situation. But what I love the most is how each gives a recollection of the fateful night, and make up something hilarious that turns the plot, only to be interrupted by the other. It is very cute and so well written, it makes you laugh out loud and smile. Funnily enough, I feel that the rest of this fic has a dark twinge to it, a shadowy edge of unsaid feelings and wantings and anger (anger mainly being from Draco, I suppose).

This story, as all stories by Eilime, is so fantastically well written and really keen to details. I felt as if I was there the entire time, I got so caught up in the moment they shared, only to be pulled back to reality when an interruption occurred, or, of course, the ending. Though, one thing that slightly irked me was that the ending was very open. I would love to beg the author for a one-shot, but somehow I feel that this fic is so great as is, that a sequel could be dangerous.

It isn't very long, though it is long enough to give you a fulfilling and great read of a Dramione fiction.

Author's Response: Oh, my... I\'m truly flattered by this. Don\'t really know what to say other than thank you ever so much. The ending, however, which is indeed open, is not open for the sake of a future sequel (there will definitely be none), but for the reader\'s right to imagine what\'s to come, how the story is going to go on from here, what\'s going to happen between these two people. Basically, it\'s up to everyone\'s imagination. Thanks again, Sarakime.

A Child's Gift by WinkeeJR

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Draco wanted to get away. He needed to get away from all the things that reminded him everyday of the mistakes he had made and the one he had lost. He found the perfect spot too, a small town in Wyoming, USA, a place called Nowhere. A perfect name as far as he was concerned. Magic, fate has a way of finding you no matter where you go though.

Yay! Awesome chapter! I really love your story, and I just want you to know that I'm sticking with you! And it! Yay!

Just one thing, though. The stars that seperate different sections - you know what I'm talking about, right? - they're a bit long, causing the page to be a little messed up. Maybe if you edited and deleted some of the stars? That'd be awesome. If not, it's okay; I'll live.

Great chapter! I like how Abby is so strong, and how Harry knew that Draco and Hermione still had something. The banter between them was really nicely done!

Looking forward to another great chapter!! ~ Sarah

Author's Response: Thank you. I\'m not sure if I can fix the stars but I will try.

Two Lattes from Hell, Please by Eilime

Summary: Post-Hogwarts

Hermione sighed in relaxation. She was sitting in her favourite café, the cafe latte steaming cheerily on the small, round table as she immersed herself in the news of The Times. As she flipped a page, the newspaper folded annoyingly backwards and revealed the scenery beyond.

Hermione let out a piercing scream.

Wow, I honestly could've sworn I have reviewed this awesome story before. I've probably read it about 12 times. I know you probably get this a lot, but everything about this story is simply *great*.

Even though Draco's characterization is questionably noncanon, I could care less. I love the way you've shown him in this story; it shows us a different side, a more humourous and determind side than we've seen before. It's really good, and I enjoyed every part that he comes in. As well as the other parts.

Hermione is shown very canon, too. Though, she might be a little harsher than we normally see her. She's still great though. They balanced each other out; Draco being nice and seeking her forgiveness, Hermione being unforgiving and harsh.

I laughed out loud so many times in this story. The witty banter, and, of course, all the names Hermione refers to Draco as, and the generally humourous thoughts of Hermione.

I'm probably going to read this story another 50 times between now and the next few months. It is that good. :)

Have a nice life!
~Sarah

Author's Response: I\'m flattered you think this story worthy of being read so many times :) I agree with you on the characterisation of Draco - he is not completely canon, however I would not call him OOC. But I\'m pleased to hear you liked him nonetheless. Hermione IS slightly harsh perhaps, but I like her this way, I have to admit, and I do believe that she could be like this. I\'m glad the story made you laugh! And you are oh so welcome to read this story another 50 times. Thanks for the review, Sarah!

Wow! This is an amazing story. It is so great, I don't know what to say.

Every word you used was used beautifully, really helping me imagine everything that was going on at the moment. Every discription was awesome. I really like how you showed us into his mind, and his thoughts, and I love how he uses his smarts to get answers to these questions. That entire part was written with a great impact on me.

The ending was great, it really showed how far he would go for power and the win. Outstanding work! 10000/10.

Author's Response: Thanks for the fantastic review. I\'ve always enjoyed writing Tom as a very angst teen who knows what he wants. He\'s my favourite character to write. Thanks again!

A Single Act of Kindness by Sly Severus

Summary: Petunia Dursley has a problem with the wizarding world, and an even bigger problem with her sister. It all started when Lily went away to Hogwarts. But that wasn't enough to completely tear the sisters apart. What finally ended their relationship forever was a single act of kindness.

Beautiful story. I must admitt, I cried a little during the "I don't have a sister." bit. Great way to get into Lily's mind at the end.

:) Nice! - Sarah

Author's Response: Thank you, Sarah. I\'m glad you enjoyed. I was just thinking about Lily one day, I started wondering what really happened between her and Petunia. I don\'t think sisters would hate each other like that for no real reason. So this story was born.

Thanks very much for the review!

Hello Cassie! =)

I've decided to finally read your story, and I'm glad I did. I really like it.

Just something I'd like to say: Really, why was Ron drunk? A bet? That's a little OOC, but it's okay, because it was generally funny. But how long is he going to stay drunk..?

Other than that, I like it. I love the really long book title in Chapter one, lol, I don't know why. I like the cliffe going on here. Evil snowmen. Oh man. What's going to happen?!

Also, I like how everyone just keeps aiming at random people, even though it always turns out to be the wrong person. Maybe the fight will test the friendships' limits? Who knows?! You do. lol =)

I look foreward to later chapters!

Author's Response: I might make a one-short of the bet that took place, so I don\'t want to say too much, but it involved some input from Harry. You know how Harry has a way of insulting people sarcastically(at least, I think he does), and Ron sometimes doens\'t get that it\'s sarcasm? And that\'s all I\'ll say! :P I\'m most likely going to make him sober by the end of the story, so don\'t worry!

Iduna by Gryffinpuff

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

Reviewer: Sarakime Signed

*wipes tears* Alright, Ashley, I know I've reviewed this before, but it's just so amazing that I've decided to use it again for my D/A class.

As I told you before, this piece was absolutely beautiful. The overall characterization of Snape in this story isn't one I've seen (or wanted to believe) before. By that, I mean that he was loving, caring, and whatnot, for anyone that he knew. But in this story, you show all of his compassion and that he really isn't a completely cold character (until after she dies, that is) through the touching bond that Severus and Iduna have.

I love how even though Iduna and Severus have different outlooks and different personalities (one was in Slytherin, one in Ravenclaw; Iduna's opinion on Muggles vs Snape's; Iduna's love for poetry vs Snape's love for power/magic), they balance each other out and were there for each other.

Another thing I loved about this piece was the amazing vocabulary and descriptions all throughout the fic. It made it so easy for me to imagine everything and really feel as if I was right there. Especially when Iduna was afraid of her father finding her, the fear of the thunderstorm, Severus' anger towards the end, and the overall transformation of Severus.

Also, the words exchanged by Severus and his father, and Iduna's thoughts/reaction afterwards were very dark and chilling.

One line that I particularly liked: Anything to increase his knowledge, but never anything to enrich his view on life...

It really showed, to me, the contrast of Iduna's view on life/ how she lives or thinks, compaired to Severus', who wanted power.

Overall, great story. Very dark. It also helps connect the dots as to why Snape is the way he is, and the true underlying problem/issue between Snape and Bellatrix. Bravo!

That was really and truley amazing. I had never before been sympathetic towards Snape, but now I am. It really casts him in a different light. Beautiful!

Author's Response: Thanks, Sarah! I really appreciate you taking the time to read this! Snape is such a complex character, it was fun writing his background in this light =)
