writing my own story. It's taking forever. I also like to read what others write.
Excellant dialog between Rey and Kane. Both characters are well thought out. I like how you had Rey get angry at Kane and tell him off. Looking forward to more.
good details on Lupin's back story. Especially liked Molly changing his Nappy.
I thought the tribute was just fine. Not at all maudlin and in the spirit of Sirius and James.
going to echo someone elses' review, but when I was reading Half Blood Prince, there was a point when I was thinking how close this story was to it. Pretty neat
excellant lesson plans even if they weren't quite what Lupin planned.
I am quite thankful that you are not so concise. Reading your story is like the old cliche drinking fine wine - good enough to savor. This is a story that can be read over and over again.
I just read that itsy bitsy line about his mum falling out the Parisian window. We all know wizards are made of stronger stuff than that. (wink wink). I assume his mum is the one who created the wolfsbane potion he is taking now. I originally thought she found a cure and was killed before she wrote dowm the formula. Just rambling. Excellant story.
Good detail on Rey. And here I was expecting a Rey's explanation to be over with in this chapter. But I can wait.
I had no problem with Remus and his father expressing emotion with each other. In some respects Remus's reaction to his mothers death might border on cliche, but on the other hand it is in character for him to feel less malice towards Kane for what happen to him, yet feel burning anger for Kane hurting a loved one. As always a 10
It was very interesting how you described how the wolfsbane potion affected Remus after he turns to a werewolf. There was a part of me that said he should know how to walk but I suppose if all he previously did was sleep in front of the fire, it would be difficult. I suppose also he would have been afraid that the wolfsbane might not work and that there was still a risk he could hurt someone as a werewolf.
Being a Snape fan, I could protest Snape unheroic efforts in the Great Hall, but actually it makes sense. Snape's moment of glory probable won't happen until book 7 and I realise this is Remus' story. As I said in the last chapter I originally had problems with Remus not knowing how to walk. Although I think Remus shouldn't have had problems walking I can understand his fear of the wolf within even while under the influence of wolfsbane. His temptation to let the wolf attack Kane was completely understandable. What showed his maturity was that he rejected it. What I liked about the death scene (assuming he is dead) was that he didn't think of it as dying but only as a means to keep the wolf within from getting out. That attitude is the essence of the Remus we know and love.
Interesting as to why Rey had to Obliviate Remus. Nice ironic touch
Clever use of the pensieve. As I was reading this a second time I realized the signifigance of Nov 2, 1981. It's when Sirius was arrested. I like the detail that goes with the story.
I like how you had Harry go to the Burrow instead of Grimmauld place.
So glad you are still writing. Can't wait for Tonk's idea.
Poor Remus, All these people yelling at him. And being the type of person he is he feels bad.
Still enjoying the story. Your so called lull in action makes the story suspenceful.
Kind of suspected that the boy Rey didn't adopt might have been Kane. but it didn't occur to me he would be his nephew. I like the Abel/Kane metaphor.
good conversation between Dumbledore and Snape. good suspence
compelling read. I like how in the last chapter you tied in Emily's abd Arianna's death with Peter's betrayal. It may be asking alot but I hope Peter can get a little more depth in character.
