I'm a 24 year old girl who got addicted to HP last year and it shows no sign of letting up! I'm quite new to writing fanfiction, and at the insistence of my readers, I'm trying to get validated.
I've read this twice and I'm still not sure I understand... the crystal ball was a spell to stop Rowena going into the Restricted Section, there was no glass there at all? This spell was her own creation and only mentioned in her journal which she had under enchantment that Slytherin broke through anyway?
Please let me know if I'm right, it sounds like an interesting story (I'm guessing Harry and the others find this place Rowena created to hide her possessions and find something really good!)
BTW, I did like the chapter, just found it a little hard to follow. I love seeing that Slytherin made the library to please Rowena Ravenclaw as if he was romancing her or something. She was Hermione 1000 years ago :) I'll read more soon.
Author's Response: Hmm? The crystal ball is a \'remote control\' that enables one to remove the glass protecting the bookshelves of the Restricted Section. It works like this: a wand taps the crystal ball and activates the minuscule devices found floating in it. Rowena is enraged because while she understands that microscopic devices are are Salazar\'s creation, turning solids into solvents were her creation, and that the spell that enables one to turn solids into solvents is found in her journal which is kept in her mirror. It was an act of betrayal and thievery (phew, that was mouthful, ain\'t it?). Sorry that this chapter confused you, but anyways, thanks for the review! Glad you liked it. (:

The memory stones are a great idea, very original and they completely fit the canon world.
Luna is very cute here, you've managed to get her character spot on!
Hiding her present in the oven LOL What if she'd ever switched it on?
What a fantastic present to give him, very thoughtful and personal. I think I love this woman, she's far too good for Snape!
Keep it coming! I wonder what she'll get him for his birthday?
Author's Response: Thank you! The idea for the stones came to me in a dream. I think Luna would be Snape\'s worst nightmare, so it was fun putting those two together. And Camilla would never turn the oven on. She hasn\'t cooked a day in her life! I\'m glad you like Camilla. : )
Getting more interesting... Clean Slate is always a great way to go, someone sees their life anew, not knowing how they got there...
The young blonde boy is Malfoy right? How long will it take him to regain his swagger before losing it again?
One question - where in the timeline does Camilla and Snapes first meeting take place? Is it even before the start of the series?
Author's Response: They young boy is Draco, yes. Camilla and Snape met during Harry\'s 7th year. Thanks for reviewing. : D
Well, a very in character situation - Snape is definately not one for wining and dining, or even small talk. I can't wait to find out how they did finally get together :)
Snape, like all men, hasn't got a clue when it comes to shopping does he? :) She just wants to spend time with him, but men don't shop - full stop :)
Author's Response: Men and shopping definitely don\'t mix. Thanks for saying Snape\'s in character! : D
ZOMG is Camilla PREGNANT? Is it morning sickness?? O___O
Anyway, fantastic chapter - I loved seeing how they got engaged :)
Ooh, Slughorn's Christmas party from Snape's POV... that should be interesting...
Author's Response: I have no comment on the illness. I\'m glad you like it!
This is a great premise for a story - a Snape who goes through the HBP timeline with no memory. I cannot wait to find out why he has no memory, what caused it, and how he's going to react when he finds out about the Unbreakable Vow, and what he has to do.
I find it strange to imagine Snape as married... he doesn't seem the marrying type! Then again, you might prove me wrong and get me sympathising with a man I hate for killing Dumbledore.
Author's Response: Thank you! All your questions will be answered in time. Snape doesn\'t seem the type to marry, but Camilla kind of got under his skin. You\'ll see more about why he decided to marry her if you read on. I hope you do change your opinion on Snape, because I believe there\'s good in him. Thanks for reviewing! : D
I love that you've given him a history - given him an unhappy childhood which I'm sure he did have.
Camilla seems like a remarkable woman, I wonder if they will survive this. They've been married for less than a year yet they came very close to splitting, if he hadn't lost his memory they probably would have split in this chapter.
Time to tell him about Voldemort!
Author's Response: Thanks! Camilla is pretty special; she has to be to put up with Snape! Yes, they\'ve had their problems. Love is not easy, especially when your husband\'s a spy. Thanks for reviewing!
Hmmm, interesting...
Camilla is a contradition isn't she? A few hours ago she was walking out on him, now she's terrified to lose him.
She's feisty, I like her :)
There is intimacy with them, and I'm convinced they really were in love, and I'm looking forward to seeing that develop as time goes on, until he regains his memory.
If Dumbledore probed his mind, doesn't he know what has caused the memory loss?
Author's Response: Camilla\'s emotions are a mixed bag right now. She loves him and is afraid to lose him but at that point earlier she was fed up with the whole thing. Plus, she was being a bit of a drama queen, like Snape said. I\'m glad you can see the love between them, even though Snape can\'t remember it. You\'re so sure he\'s going to regain his memory, are you? Dumbledore does not know what caused the memory loss. Thanks for the review! : D
I don't think Hermione and Ginny are OOC - Ginny always had a firey temper and Hermione was always much more docile unless she was bickering with Ron.
Even if they're even slightly out of character their husbands have just died, its completely understandable.
You've got me all choked up, and I'm dying to know what happened next. And I'm DYING to know where they were that they didn't tell Molly where they were going or what they did to get Ron and Harry killed when they're untouched...
Surely this can't be the final fight against Voldemort? I've gotten the impression that they're a lot older than the canon characters, I'd say around 26 or 27.
Anyway, MORE!!
Author's Response: So glad you liked it. I agree, their OOC-ness is acceptable, I just feel bad.
It\'s sort of the final Voldie-fight - of course, there will be more Death Eaters trying to bring Voldemort back, but thiswas the ultimate blow to Tom Riddle. In chapters 3-5, things will get all unfoggy and it will really start flowing. From what I\'ve planned, #4 is when the major plot kicks in, but I shall say no more!
Thanks for the review!
You total tease!!
I like it! :D
Author's Response: That\'s what i was aiming for. Thanks for the review.
