Part I of Romance Slytherin Style - Somewhere Only We Know by SeaIsleWitch

Rated: Professors •
Summary: Near the end of sixth year, an overdue confrontation between Pansy Parkinson and Draco Malfoy leads to an emotionally charged evening, that neither will forget. This story depicts a missing scene from HBP and includes a humorous cameo of our favourite Potions Master. (Complete - 3 Chapters)
Part I of Romance, Slytherin Style - A Trilogy

I really enjoyed this. I've always been intrigued by the Draco/Pansy coupling in the books, and still haven't decided whether I think Draco really loves her or not. Needless to say, your writing did a good job of proving the former to be true.

Like others have said, I think the way you kept each character true to his/her Slytherin traits, even during the most affectionate moments, was amazing. It seems like a lot of authors end up changing Draco's character completely when writing him in a romantic setting, but you've managed to keep him haughty and proud throughout.

I also loved the way you handled the - er - intimate scenes. : ) They were very well-written, whereas a lot of people can't seem to handle writing a fanfiction-appropriate sex scene without making it sloppy or distasteful. Good job!

I'm glad I found this story; again, really awesome job. :D

The Upside of Being Down by Kimberley

Rated: Professors •
Summary: *COMPLETED!*What happens when you put a hopelessly "romantic" man-hussy and a girl with a soft spot for bedtime activities (not THOSE activities, silly!) together in a dark bedroom? Well, I don't happen to know either, so I suppose we'll find out together, won't we? Come with me, Tia C. Spencer, on a lovely ride through the countryside... er, lakeside... okay, so we won't actually be riding NEXT to anything, but it will be lovely, I promise you that. How can it not be, with me as your illustrious (and quite possibly mad) companion?

And no, contrary to beliefs very likely impressed upon you by this summary, I'm not a gormless prat.

Well... not entirely.

Just so you know, I was just knocked off my chair and onto the floor when Irony and his friend Coincidence snuck up behind me and proceeded to mug me.

What I really wanted to say was that I've been reading your story for a while, but I've just now finally got around to finishing it - it's absolutely brilliant, by the way - but when I read your author's notes about Fading Into Grey I was pleasantly surprised. Weirdly enough, I found that story when it only had about two chapters, and I've been tagging along behind it with my tongue hanging out ever since. So now that I know you beta for it, I just wanted to tell you that if you had anything to do with its excellence, then I shall take a leaf from Tia's book and demonstrate football-worshipping methods in your honor.

Keep up the good beta-ing, and positively well-done on this story! So sad it's completed...: (

Cruciatus by Noldo

Summary: No one knew, and no one guessed, what little Peter kept suppressed.
A wildly AU one-shot exploring the scenario: what if Peter had never turned traitor? (Mild HBP spoilers.)
Reviewer: MissPurplePen Signed
Date: 06/19/07 Title: Chapter 1: Cruciatus

This story was absolutely AMAZING.

First of all, I love your writing style...it's so eloquent and gracefull, but not obnoxious or wordy. It's also just so creative...I love that you list the things that ended the war in such a clean-cut way in the beginning of the story.

I also adored the repetition of 'No one knew, no one guessed/what Peter kept suppressed.' First of all I thought it was such an eerie sentence, and second it just added so much to the mood of the story that it was repeated a few times. Well done!

The idea of the story as a whole was mind-blowing. It made me think so much about the underlying differences between that phantom alternate universe where the Potters are still alive and the real Potterverse we know. The characters are so different, the relationships aren't the same (some, I'm sure, would be nonexistant in this alternate universe), and everything is less meaningful. Harry's just a normal kid, never having to deal with real suffering or loneliness like the real Harry. I just love that strangeness...it made me realize how much JKR's version really means.

Plus, Peter just totally knocked me off my feet. I personally hate the real Peter for being such a wormy scumbag, but you characterized him so well in this story. At first it seems uncharacteristic of Peter to stand up to Voldemort for his friends, but really it just justifies his being a Gryffindor. I love it! And it's weird that it seems Peter took the Longbottoms' places as for being tortured into insanity...and for no other reason than being brave.

Again, the story was genius. And a very enjoyable read. Great work!

Clair De Lune by Astrid Skywalker

When the first half has been found, the Order of the Phoenix selects Hermione Granger to go back into the past to search for the missing piece. An awesome first chapter! I absolutely love it. The descriptions are fantastic; I can see everything in my head so vividly. I especially like the two parts where the weather reflects Hermione's emotions...really beautiful writing. The characterization is perfect, too: there are so many bad Hermiones out there, but here it's like she came straight from JKR's head! You captured her tenseness and anxiety so well! Great job.

Oh, and I really liked the flashback of Harry's experience at the werewolf pub. : ) Very cool.

Anyway, fantastic job! I can't wait to read the rest of the story.

Continuously good, of course. The characterization just keeps getting better...It's great to see Harry's and Ron's reactions to the news that Hermione will be going back in time. Very characteristic of them both, the way they acted. : )

The title of this chapter was perfect...all the eye contact between Hermione and Remus was so good. And aside from that, I love the mystery of it all! This amulet is so intriguing, and just everything about it is awesome. It being a Horcrux, it being broken...and the fact that someone has to go back in time to even begin to fix this mess. I love it!

Again, excellent chapter!

Date: 07/14/07 Title: Chapter 3: Relegare In Praetor

Oh, so much to say! The description is once again possibly the strongest aspect.

After filling a glass with cold water, she leaned against the sink, peering at the bright red roses framing the window from outside. A droplet of water rolled down the petal of a particularly large flower, and her eyes followed its descent. Slowly, slowly . . . until it finally slipped off the edge. There was a sudden pang in her stomach. Her fate could mirror that of the tiny droplet.

So good! I loved it.

I also adored the tick-tocking of the clock, and the effect it had on Hermione. The parallels were so good! And the pictures you painted of all the Order members sitting around, preparing, were brilliant! I could see it so vividly and literally FEEL the anxiety they were going through.

Even though this isn't a Ron/Hermione story, you still managed to capture their feelings for each other perfectly, even if only briefly. Great job on that.

And, finally, the poetic time travel spell was probably my favorite part of the chapter. The words were so eloquent, and so meaningful. Very, very, very good chapter!

Reviewer: MissPurplePen Signed

Guh, my favorite part was the description of Wiltonshire Street! I could just see it, and I could feel the heat that was drying up those poor plants.

The dialogue exchanged when Hermione fell on top of Remus was hilarious. "Apparate on top of me? Don't worry, it happens all the time." You've successfully captured the fun side of Remus, which is sort of hard to come by in fanfiction.

Sirius was great, too, as was the little overview of Harry's birth (all of them incredibly drunk except Lily and Remus). Who would have thought it happened like that? : P

Now I can't wait to read the next chapter...Hermione gets to meet the Potters AND two-day-old Harry. You're brilliant!

Remember Cedric Diggory by Roommate of the Quillster

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

You may have heard of a tall, dark and handsome Hufflepuff... Prefect of his house, favored to be the next Head Boy, and Hogwart's champion. I am that champion; I am Cedric Diggory...

And if you think I'm really like that, that's sad. I'm the nice guy. Not boring, nice. Sometimes I get a bit carried away. I think Ed is having a bad influence on me. He's a bit egotistical, but he's one of my best friends anyway. People in Hufflepuff aren't as lame as they're made out to be. My best friend Porter is muggleborn and says some of the craziest things--half of them I've never even heard of! Maybe I should just tell you everything. Then you'd understand.

Yay! Cedric is my favorite character and not just because I'm in love with him, so I really enjoyed just this prologue. I love the way you write his thoughts, and I actually almost cried when he said, "Hold on, Harry!" Really great start! I can't wait to read the rest.

I'm speechless.

This was the best chapter so far...I loved Andromeda's departure. The entire event as a whole is not how I would have imagined it (as in her getting preggers and all and the rest of the family finding out), but I think it was excellent, and you wrote it so well. I ADORED your description of her expression as she left, and what she told Sirius.

“Look,” Sirius explained. “Bella is a wicked witch and she’s got her artillery of hexes and jinxes, but she couldn’t kill anyone. Well, especially not one of us.”

Regulus drew a long breath, “You think so?”

“Of course she wouldn’t,” Sirius half smiled. “We may hate one another, but we’re family.”

That was the best thing you've written out of the entire story. The foreshadowing, the meaning and theme of just those few sentences; it was magnificent.

I swear I'll die if you don't update soon.

Author's Response: You know, I really debated on the whole preggers thing. I even discussed it quite thoroughly with my beta because I didn’t know if it was realistic enough or actually to cliche. But then I thought, it really made her more of a victim and I needed something to get the gears in Sirius’s rusty head working and thinking…because Sirius, as much as we love him, is NOT a deep thinker…well at least 12 year old Sirius isn’t. I’m glad you feel it flows well. Sometimes it’s difficult for me to see if it flows well on paper or not because it’s so clearly defined in my head, does that make sense? And the forshadowing, thank you. I was hoping it wouldn’t come off to…eh, I dunno…obvious? And please don’t die, I love reading your reviews! Once again, thank you so much for taking the time to read and review, it means LOADS to me, honestly! Thanks again! Woot!

Wow...you are truly a brilliant writer.

Firstly, I am in love with all of the dialogue. I also really admire and enjoy your presentations of Sirius' thoughts on how his bedroom and four-poster at Hogwarts are both so different from other boys' his age...I thought that was beautiful writing.

I'm also at a loss for words at how you incorporated the Snuffles bit...and while it was so tragic, I think the drowning of the puppy at the end of the chapter was a very good bit of story-telling...even if I am choking up at the moment.

I'm also loving the developing conflict between Regulus and Sirius...I can definitely start to see that they are growing apart in their ideas, which is so sad considering the closeness they will soon lose...

And finally, James giving Sirius that camera was just the icing on the cake...again, you are brilliant...

Author's Response: Hello! Well, I LOVE writing dialog! It\'s the easiest part for me! Thank you for taking the time to comment and to say all the wonderful things you said, it is truely appreciated. I love knowing that people are really actually reading all these words I\'m throwing together! Chapter 7 is coming, slowly, but it\'s coming. Ghosts by Wings of the Morning

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Andromeda takes a walk through the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black after her husband dies, finding nothing more than dust, nostalgia, and a faded blue dress. And in the end, it all boils down to one question: Do you believe in ghosts? Oneshot.
Reviewer: MissPurplePen Signed
Date: 05/31/07 Title: Chapter 1: Ghosts

Wow...the ending. The first thing I'll tell you is that I love the ending. Even if the rest of the story had been dreadful, the ending would have made up for it all without a doubt. It gives the reader closure but is at the same time very open for interpretation...did Narcissa leave the zipper open on purpose, or was it an honest accident? I love it!

At first I must say that the alternation between the conversation about ghosts and the present was confusing at first, but after a while I got used to it and now I think it makes the story so much stronger. It's a very creative way of writing; congratulations on pulling it off so well!

I adored your descriptions of the setting...you made the Black house seem so creepy, just how I'd imagine it...you really painted a picture with words, and it added to the mood of the story drastically. Great job!

I also liked Andromeda's characterization...I don't necessarily picture her with the same personality as she has here, but nonetheless, you captured her well and really developed her within the story. Sometimes it's hard to include much characterization in a one-shot, but you've done it and it's great.

Overall, this story was amazing. I love the whole feel of it...not dull at all. Wonderful job; keep it up!
