Hi, I'm Valentinia, your typical Harry Potter obsessed teen.

I've read the HP books so many times that I've lost count, but I'm guessing most of you on MNFF have done the same!

Otherwise, I'm pretty boring.
My favorite band is Evanescence.
My favorite HP characters are Luna "Loony" Lovegood and Petunia Dursley.
My favorite HP book is PoA.
My favorite HP chapter is "Career Advice" from OotP.
My favorite HP film is probably OotP.
My favorite HP actor is Evanna Lynch. There're a lot of great ones though!

I'm an all-out Ron/Hermione, Luna/Harry and Ginny/Neville shipper. *Sigh*. I know, I know, Canon just sort of ruined those last two. Still, Harry/Ginny was okay. I guess.

I also love stories about Parvati, Padma and Lavender, because I think they deserve some character and depth and they're often deprived of it and made into girly non-humans.

And here some cool things from other people's profiles:

Weird is good, strange is bad, and odd is when you don't know which to call someone. Weird is the same as different, which is the same as unique,so weird is good. If you are weird and proud of it, copy this onto your profile!

92 percent of American teens would die if Abercombie and Fitch told them it was uncool to breathe. Copy this in your profile if you would be the 8 percent that would be laughing your head off.

If you're one of those people who get excited when you see just two reviews, paste this into your profile.

If you've been on the computer for hours on end, reading numerous fanfictions, copy this into your profile

If you don't watch Laguna Beach or the O.C. or The Hills religiously, never have, never will, and are proud of it, copy and paste this into your profile.

You know you live in 2007 when...

1. You go to a party, sit down and take MySpace pics.

2. You haven’t played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. The reason for not staying in touch with your friends is that they don't have AIM/LiveJournal/MySpace.

4. You'd rather look all over the house for the remote instead of just pushing the button on the TV.

6. Your evening activity is sitting at the computer.

7. You read this list, and keep nodding and smiling.

8. You think about how stupid you are for reading this.

9. You were too busy to notice number five.

10. You actually scrolled back up to check if there was a number five.

11. And now you're laughing at your stupidity.

12. Put this in your pro if you fell for it. You know you did.

Ninety-five percent of teenagers are concerned about being popular. If you are one of the five percent who aren't, copy this, put it in your profile, and add your name to the list: Queen S of Randomness 016, Queen B of Randomness 016, AnimieKittyCaffe, The Gypsy Pirate Queen, That Bloody Demon, The Astrology Nerd, Shadow929, Crazy Billie Joe Loving Freak, Yavie Aelienel, Hyperactively Bored, Spymaster E, Shanny-Boo, Gem W, Brown-eyed angelofmusic, piratesswriter/fairy to be, Bara-Minomoto, Em Quagmire, Buffy The Mary-Sue Slayer, Random Little Writer, SamanthaFantasyFan, EdwardAddict, Supergirrl, Elemental-ANimal, Mother Nature's Daughter, Schmerg_The_Impaler, Carmona, Hanabi, Valentinia

awww! this is a really cute story; i love how you compare lily and james to ginny and harry!

Resolution by Vindictus Viridian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: "You did not come here to play chess."
On New Year's Eve, Minerva McGonagall finds herself without the usual distractions of students and staff. She decides there is only one way to solve the puzzle before her, and that she will have to take a rather large chance.
This was a submission for the Redemption Challenge and contains huge howling unavoidable HBP spoilers.

Oh, poor Severus! I hope he lives...
I really like how the motive for killing Dumbledore was revealed through the chess game, and I love how much Minerva trusted Severus. She wasn't afraid to walk into his house, and just suggest a game of chess; how every brave, or maybe she just knew Severus better than most...?
Anyway, I've gotten off topic... This was a great one-shot, and both Minerva and Severus were wonderfully IC! Also, as usual of course, this was brilliantly written! Great fic!

Author's Response: Thanks! I\'m glad you liked it. Minerva probably does know Severus just a bit better than the rest of us do, or at least for a lot longer than most.

Fighting the Christmas Blues by Cinderella Angelina

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It's Christmastime, but it doesn't seem very cheery at Hogwarts. Seamus is walking down a dismal hallway, lost in his depression, when he runs into someone--literally. Will he be able to have a happy Christmas?
Written for the December/Christmas/Winter Snows Challenge 2005.

Sweet. Fluffy, but with a tinge of darkishness (okay, everyone knows what I mean... I didn't want to say "darkness" that would make even less sense) in the background. I enjoyed this story very much.

Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked it; no one really reads this story, it seems, and that\'s just fine with me. It\'s my least favorite, actually. But thank you for your review.

Bruno Schmidt by Leahr

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Have you ever read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, by Newt Scamander? If you have, you just might remember a small paragraph under Erklings, where we learned of a young boy named Bruno Schmidt. No longer relegated merely to a glancing mention, this is his story.

Bruno Schmidt lived in Karstbaum, a small town in Europe which conceals many secrets. Magic in Karstbaum is always kept completely under wraps in all circumstances, although no one seems to know why. Bruno's life is about to change, more than he ever thought possible. Will Bruno's bravery get him safely through all the obstacles he will soon face? I have begun- wait with patience.

I like the story so far, it's very original and interesting. But before I continue to the next chapter... I read the A/N about the spell, but, even if the magic is simple, why would people in a small town in Germany have English words in their spells? I think (but this isn't really important, obviously) that it should either stick to latin (or something similar) or German. In case you're wondering, head is "Kopf" and forehead is "Stirn" in German.

Author's Response: You are absolutely right, it should have been in German. I didn\'t bother to think about that, oops. Pretend it\'s been translated. Thanks so much for reviewing, I am deeply grateful. I do hope to update soon- you have inspired me to try harder, its just that I\'ve been working on something else. You made my day!

Love Bruno's parents... :) And Scamander was funny, too. I hope Bruno's character is developed a bit more, though, because I'm not really sure what he's like... YET. For some reason I've suddenly got the urge to go read "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"... :D

Author's Response: It\'s a great book, you should reread it! He has much more character, don\'t worry. Ishould hope he changes as he gets older, but the point here was that he\'s a rather quiet, reticent kid who doesn\'t reveal so much of himself. He\'ll be different at Hogwarts, perhaps.

Poor, bored Bruno. I'm not sure "depressed" is the best way to describe how he's feeling, though.

Author's Response: where does it say depressed? and he is, though, doesn\'t being really bored make you depressed?

Interesting... Can't wait to find out where you're going with this!! Hope you update soon!

Author's Response: I do like this chapter. I have a lot planned with Astra. She has a lot in common with Sirius, in a way. You inspired me to update, i have to get to work and finish the next chapter! Problem is, I have a chapter for my Hermione\'s Summer story that\'s been with my beta for like, two weeks now. ? Gotta find out what\'s happening. I\'m very glad you like it!

Belonging to Bellatrix by Fantasium

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: “Behind every great man stands a great woman.” But what happens when the roles change? What is life like to a man who must live in the shadow of his wife? A wife who is neither great nor good, but wicked and cruel, and who only exists to serve her master… One-shot, written pre-HBP.

What an eerie characterization of Rodolphus! Really good, though, realistic and very dark. Plus, the writing really accentuated his feelings; his relationship with Voldemort was really something else. Just amazing. :D I really enjoyed reading this!

In the Eyes of Others by Vindictus Viridian

Rated: Professors •
Summary: Severus has never seen the appeal of repetition, particularly of things that ended badly the first time. In his life, he has kept one pet, owned one broom, and had one close friend.

Winner of Mod Quicksilver Quill for Best Novel! Thanks, all!

Rating and warnings do not apply to all chapters; I just didn't want anyone hooked and then shocked.
"What is it?" His mother held out her hand, and he put the letter in it wordlessly. "Are you eleven already?"

His father lowered the newspaper to look at the calendar. "Yesterday. ‘Appy birthday." And that was the end of that.

I like the different sides of Eileen - she's a stubborn woman, who made a huge mistake, I suppose, and she's too stubborn to get out, and too stubborn to accept the consequences (like her son...) and deal with them the right way...
But anyway, I suppose this story isn't about Eileen, really, but about Severus. I really like your portrayal not only of his family and home (also from earlier fics in this series) but also of his character. He's written as IC as possible, as we really know nothing about his childhood, and your take on his developments are realistic and interesting! I look forward to reading this fic!

Author's Response: Glad to have you here! \"All happy families are alike, but unhappy ones are all unhappy in their own unique ways,\" I belive is the Tolstoy quote. The Snapes gave me lots of material.

Reviewer: Valentinia Signed
Date: 12/22/06 Title: Chapter 2: Soap on the Hogwarts Express

It's great how each of the Marauders and Severus and Lily have their own distinct (and IC) characters. Sirius really does have a problem with this "dark wizard paranoia..." and to think, Severus was that close to having friends already. Poor kid! But I really enjoyed Lily and her toad! :D A really well-written chapter, too, of course!

Author's Response: Thanks! I\'m glad you found them all IC. Sirius is entitled to it, I think, but yeah, poor kid! Sometimes five people just don\'t add up well.

Poor Severus, once again! I can't imagine having to live with Lucius...
Luciucs' character seems to be very odd, and I can't wait to find out more, though! After all, he helped look for Ink and made a gravestone and then he beat Severus senseless... Somehow, things aren't adding up...
Hmm. But it just adds to the story and the great writing! I can't wait to find out more! Off to read the next chapter...

Author's Response: I\'d hate to live with Lucius, frankly. He wants the upper hand, and he\'ll do whatever he has to. I suspect the adult Narcissa might just be a match for him, of course. Enjoy the read!

:D That conversation on the parchment was hilarious! I wish I could do that spell...
I really like the blossoming friendship between Lily and Severus! Don't really know what else to say, but great chapter and cool story so far! I love the celings!

Author's Response: Wouldn\'t that be a good spell to have? The note-passing AND the ceiling one? Thanks for reviewing!

Reviewer: Valentinia Signed
Date: 12/29/06 Title: Chapter 46: Afterward

What a tragic, and yet probably very realistic portrayal of Snape's life! I like the relationship he had with Lily, how they were friends, but Severus was too scared of hurting her to become more. Actually, all of his relationships with canon characters made sense, and everyone was delightfully IC and yet originally portrayed. Also, the plot was clever and well-thought out. I like how Severus' character and life progressed using canon events as well as made-up ones, which were just as effective! Lastly, the writing in this fic is great! Small things, like Lily changing from saying "Potter and Black" to "James and Sirius" and the realistic and heart-wrenching descriptions of Severus' feelings, while never getting to "mushy" to be OOC combined to make this a very worthwhile read!

Author's Response: Thanks! I\'m glad you enjoyed it. This was a monster amount of work and my beta was a huge help on saying \"This needs more.\" Apparently she said it in the right places!

Reviewer: Valentinia Signed
Date: 12/22/06 Title: Chapter 6: Quidditch in the Rain

I really like how Andromeda is part of the Black Sister thing! After all, she can still be "on the good side" and still be a Slytherin and care about her sisters!
And that image/memory was creepy! So is Bella, but in a very intersting way... And Malfoy is getting weirder and weirder! So much suspense! Great chapter!

Author's Response: We know she had to be a Slytherin, since Sirius was the one who kept Slughorn from having \'the set.\' So she had to be pretty interesting, to be a Black and to be Tonks\' mother. Thanks!

An Unlikely Apology by ElspethBates

Summary: New Years Eve after the final battle, Harry and Draco finally confront the night that Dumbledore was murdered. AU
Reviewer: Valentinia Signed
Date: 07/07/06 Title: Chapter 1: An Unlikely Apology

Good one-shot. I like how Harry and Draco ended up friends, even though I highly doubt this will happen in the real series (the friendship, I mean) it still made for a good, interesting fic. I don't really like any of the pairings, but surprisingly enough that didn't make me enjoy this story any less. You've also kept Harry and Draco very in character (especially concerning the circumstances you're describing), what with Harry blaming himslef and all. Anyway, this review is way too long so: Good job and good-bye. :D

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I\'m really glad you like the story... it wasn\'t the easiest one to write... but it was fun!

Who Has to Know? by annie

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Draco has a secret, one that he would never admit to anyone...including himself. One-shot songfic to "Dirty Little Secret" by All-American Rejects.
Reviewer: Valentinia Signed
Date: 07/04/07 Title: Chapter 1: Who Has to Know?

Rather disturbing, but very well-written. I like how you don't really know who the characters are until the very end, how it could really be anyone. And it's amazing how you show the twisted thoughts of the abuser, and how the reader feels disgust for him, but somehow empathizes (to some extent). Really a well-written fic! And very sad... and very twisted...

Anamnesis: All That Now Remains by Barabbas

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Always he had been there. To cry, and to bear witness. He survived them all. Two centuries after the final battle, a solitary figure searches for solace in all that remains of his past; the shattered memories of yesteryears.

Reviewer: Valentinia Signed
Date: 09/27/06 Title: Chapter 1: One-Shot

One word: wonderful! I really don't think I can do this story justice, seeing as I'm not really the best reviewer on earth. However, this story really deserves many reviews.
You really make the perspective of Dobby work, as the thoughts and feelings are easily followed, and obviously those of someone who is old, and who has lost everything he had, and who has nothing really left to live for. Nothing except the future. You also stay in character for Dobby; he was always one to over-appreciate everything, every kind deed and every friend. The memories of what people did for him are touching, and Dobby's loss of all that was dear to him is saddening.
The ending is beautiful, too. I like how you have Dobby's last memory in the fic be the declaration of love to Winky, and I think the romance with her throughout the entire fic is very cute, and quite stirring.
Also, the story is made believable and original by such tiny touches as the names of very minor OCs, and even a bit of background on the headmaster.
All in all, a great story! It really shows what it means to be "the last one standing," and to have nothing left that one once had.

Friends in Need... by Foxy Wolf

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story

Reviewer: Valentinia Signed
Date: 10/23/06 Title: Chapter 1: ...Are Friends in Deed.

Poor Neville. I like how both of them are characterized, though, and how the effects of war are shown so clearly through "small" things like the girl in the Great Hall or Luna being afraid for her father.
I like how Ginny's passion is coupled with Neville's lack thereof.
Plus, I'm a hopeless GW/NL shipper... :D
Good story!

Author's Response: Thank you very much.
