Please update soon!! This story is fascinating and I cannot wait for more.
"They say the truth is so fragile, it must be guarded by layers of lies." & "I can hear your heart." ..........Yes, yes, yes!! Absolutely brilliant lines and a heart stopping chapter!! I was squeeing with delight because I could believe we finally got a kiss. It was well worth the wait.
Author's Response: Man, and neither one are original. Of course, what ever is in writing? Winston Churchill is famed for the truth/lies quote, although he probably didn\'t come up with it either. And the latter is a wee little homage to the band Marillion, which doesn\'t receive nearly enough airplay in the US but has awesome music (well, at least their old stuff).
"Oh, Dolores, trust me. He understands perfectly!" Snape winked with a shiver so subtle that it screamed of untold passion, and he saw in her eyes that she immediately filed that away under Malfoy: Leverage Against.
Priceless!!
OMG!! This chapter was deliciously hilarious!! Yet again you write Snape as if you know him intimately. I love how the story is progressing, just wish the chapter had been longer. *wink wink* I see the next chapter is in the cue and hope it will be approved soon.
Author's Response: \"Yet again you write Snape as if you know him intimately.\" Hehehehee. I alwasy thought that JKR wrote Snape as if SHE knew ME. ;p
OMG you are killing me!!!! This story is so damn wonderful and I love the way you weave. I eagerly await the next chapter to be approved.
Author's Response: Thanks! It\'s been in the queue a while, but they\'ve obviously had trouble lately...I hope it gets approved too.
This chapter was quite humorous and I definitely liked how absurd everything must feel to Severus. He's a man that works hard to shield himself from any and everything even remotely related to emotion (except anger and loathing) and now all these foreign feelings are threatening to drown him. Thank goodness Hermione is willing to help him swim through the current. Once again, beautiful chapter and I await the next update.
Author's Response: Thanks!! That\'s kind of how I see him too--deep denial but desperate curiosity.
Enjoy it I did!! The two of them together like this squeeze at my heart. I wonder how long he will be able to hold out. Kudos once again!!
Author's Response: *evul grin* Wait\'ll the next chapter comes up...
Nice story so far!! I really like how you write Snape and aren't 'rushing' things between them. I look forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: Thanks! That was one of the goals--a lot of the H/S fics I\'ve read have it all happen so fast, it seems a bit...improbable.
Squeeeeeeee!! Finally we get an update and I couldn't be happier. Wonder why it takes so long for them to approve your story? At any rate, I like how this chapter advanced the story. Her realization was cure and giggly. I anxiously await chapter nine.
Author's Response: Well, the phrase \"too graphic\" seems to keep coming up... ;p Chapter 9 is probably going to have that problem too, so consider yourself warned.
I just realized that there were updates!! I need to check my email more often. Excellent chapter as always. I love the raw emotion between the two. Are you afraid I'm going to break your heart?" Priceless!!
Author's Response: That\'s what I was hoping for--both of them are so...INTENSE, in their own totally different ways. It\'s a dangerous combination.
I' shocked at how quickly this was approved. I feel there is no method to their madness sometimes. At any rate, you must be in a torturous mood seeing as how you have given us the gift of an evil little cliffie. Love the descriptiveness of the chapter. I eagerly await more.
Author's Response: Soon, grasshopper...
I really enjoyed this chapter. The apology was well written and exactly what I would have expected from Snape. The only thing I noticed was that the chapter seemed a little hurried and shorter than I expected. I cannot wait for number 5 to be approved.
Author's Response: *nods* Well, the thing about S and H is that both of them are sort of no-nonsense people. They both catch on quick, with an intuituve quality--they\'re both often several steps ahead of everybody around them. Brains crossed with keen observation. Things are going to happen fast once they start working in synch, because they don\'t have to wait for everyone else to catch up to them...
Let me rephrase my last comment. I don't mean hurried as in you are rushing their relationship (I adore your pacing and that they weren't declaring love after only one scene), the chapter just seemed hurried as in fast paced. It could just be as I am way to excited for updates. :)
Once again you do your characters justice. I love how this chapter played out. You are killing me with your evil little cliffies though. I'm disappointed by some of the dissent you've received over Snape's drinking and reaction. I think each of these made perfect sense considering the day he's had. Coupled with the booze in a short time, and on an empty stomach I'm sure, the scenario appears warrented. Alas, I know everyone is entitled to their opinion. I excitedly await the next chapter.
Author's Response: Hey, don\'t mind the dissent--I don\'t. Constructive criticism is always a good thing. I\'ve read Snape fics in which he\'s a brandy-a-night sort of fellow, in which case five shots in rapid succession wouldn\'t be realistic for Mr Charming to show up. I should go back and make it clearer that \"my\" Snape (wow, I loved just typing that!!) is a teetotaller for the most part. It\'s my job as author to make sure the ambiguities are ironed out, not the reader\'s job.
OMG I am literally breathless after that chapter!! The pacing, the heat and the anger left my senses in a whirlwind. I am dying for more!! I was shocked to see how quickly this chapter was approved since the last. Maybe they've worked out the bugs or whatnot. I definitely plan to friend you on LJ.
Author's Response: Woot!! Glad to hear it!
OMG That was bloody brilliant!! The exchange between them was very well written. Hermione is one smart cookie and she is going to keep chipping away at his exterior.
Author's Response: That\'s what I figured, too. She had a lot of insight about that whole Ron/Viktor Yule Ball thing, so IMHO her insights aren\'t limited to other people.
Tut tut...surely our Potions Master realizes he's lying to her even if it is in a roundabout way. Oh well, it can't be all roses and warm fuzzies. The dialogue between Lupin and Snape was razor sharp and I loved it. I can never get enough of the playful banter between Hermione and Severus. Outstanding chapter!!
Author's Response: Thanks! I would think that just as Northern people have 30+ different words for snow, Snape probably has an entire vocabulary all his own for lies. ;) I think on his relative scale, withholding the full truth is pretty inocuous.
I just had a thought. You could always post the more randy version of each chapter on your LJ. I would definitely read both. :)
Author's Response: Heh. they\'re all posted on my LJ but I keep the lewd stuff friendlocked for Grownups Only. If you friend me, and you have your birthdate on your User Info page, I\'ll friend you back.
That poor girl!! It must have been quite difficult to open herself up and allow him to see her insecurities and fears, especially concerning that particular subject. Something in my gut tells me that he will be understanding in a way that only he can. This was another fantastic chapter.
Author's Response: Understanding in a way only he can...that pretty much sums it up.
Ahahahahahahaha...did he really think that he would be able to escape her that easily. Hermione is a smar girl and can give back just as much as he can dish out. It was nice to see him suffer a bit and reflect on his situation and feelings. I can't wait to see what our girl has to say. Once again I loved this chapter.
Author's Response: I\'m glad. It was a bit of a risk to make it take such a drastic dive.
Bravo to Mugglenet and your beta for getting the chapters up so quickly. I certainly won't look a gift horse in the mouth. I swear you outdo yourself with each new update. I'm going to have to break out the thesaurus as I am running out of adjectvies of praise. Awesome once again!! The little owl was a lovely touch.
Author's Response: *stares down abashedly* I don\'t have a beta, actually, except for one chapter which is still a ways off. But I\'m so glad you\'re enjoying it!
