Why Dean No Longer Plays Football by Emily_the_Poet

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Before the final battle Blaise and Dean have time to kill, and they don't spend it using there wands, but rather talking about something they never wanted.
Reviewer: EtherealElation Signed
Date: 10/29/06 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

That was really excellent - I love how you wove "muggle" issues into a magic situation, and so skillfully... It really was very, very good. Nice work, and I hope this affects the right people.

Bravissima!

Draco's Trick-or-Treat by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Three-year-old Draco goes trick-or-treating for the first time. His mother takes the opportunity to teach him some lessons and Malfoy family values that she believes will be important to her son later in life. This depiction of Draco is VASTLY different from the version of him that I write in "The Dark Lord's Blog."

Ridiculously short one-shot.

Date: 10/29/06 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter One and Only!

Oh... That was wonderful. I love how you characterized the two - Narcissa was wonderfully played, as well as Draco. And I simply adored the ending - it's so cruel, bu ' very... illuminating, shall I say? You can see Draco's extreme intelligence come into play there, even at such a young age. Wonderful work - Brava!

~Juliet

Author's Response: Thank you so much! *Curtsies* Yes, I\'ve always seen Draco as being intelligent, although I tend to portray him as a wimp in the sillier things I write. This is a very different view of him for me!

Fleeting Apparition by Periwinkle

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: It's Halloween night as Ginny gets a premonition, one of the many she's experienced lately. Stealing out of the house, she meets up with Draco in the local graveyard, only to discover out more than she had ever meant to know.

Written for the SPEW Trick or Treat Swap, for Delaney.

Oooh... That was really good. I tend to dislike the Draco/Ginny type of story, but this one is really excellent... Great work, great characterization - this was really something awesome. Bravissima!

~Juliet

Author's Response: Yay for being the first reviewer! It took me a good long while to write this story, I\'m so happy you find it believable or at least entertaining!

A Mother's Love by LariLee

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: She would come again tonight; he could feel it in his bones. He wondered if she would cry again as she beseeched him for his assistance, implored him for the life of her son, begged as if it were in his power to give.

Date: 10/28/06 Title: Chapter 1: A Mother's Love

Oooooh... Wow.

That

was

AMAZING.

Oh, my goodness... I was SO expecting another Narcissa / Snape deal and instead I got... Ooh, wow. * does happy dance and smiels * This is a most excellent piece... I love how you didn't reveal her identity until the end, and I agree with you - I think she would have betrayed James to save her son.

This is incredible... Awesome work here! Bravissima!

Maybe I'm Amazed by Aelan Greenleaf

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: The War has left more scars on Harry than anyone could have ever imagined, injuries that no spell can heal. Gone is the Boy-Who-Lived, replaced by a broken and shattered man with little hope.

But I still love him.

And I always will.

Oh... That was very touching, indeed. Nicely written, nicely performed - a work to be appreciated, for sure. Great work with the characterization on Ginny's part, and Harry's - what can be said of it, because you changed his character, but I can't say that I didn't like it. Nice work!

~Juliet

Reach the Open Space by Tinn Tam

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: After defeating Voldemort, Harry Potter was about to become the most adulated wizard in the History of Wizardkind. But he ruined it all. And he's damn proud of it.
Reviewer: EtherealElation Signed
Date: 11/01/06 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

You know, I really want to tell you that that was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.... But I can't bring myself to do it, you see, because that was brilliant. I love how you made Harry the bad guy, and I especially liked the ending with the trial and all - it was excellent. I also laughed really, really hard at the "If Voldemort had had eyebrows, he would have raised them" part, because... Well, I don't know why, but it was funny. Great idea, overall - the ending was a bit gruesome, what with Ginny and all, but I loved the trapped man idea and so forth... Really amazing story. Great work! Bravissima.

~Juliet

Author's Response: Well, thanks all the same! ^^. I wouldn\'t describe Harry as \"the bad guy\", he was just a human being in this story. I\'m glad you laughed at the bit about Voldemort\'s eyebrows, or lack thereof; it was meant to prevent the whole \"Harry/Voldemort\" duel from becoming too melodramatic. It is Harry writing down his memories, and I really wanted to avoid melodrama at all costs :).

About Ginny, I expected some criticism--I gave in to my Ginny-hatred here. It was a bit gruesome, but it was damn funny to write! ;)

Thanks for the review again!

Dangerous Driving by SnorkackCatcher

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: To his horror, Knight Bus driver Ernie Prang is 'invited' to become an informer for the Ministry at the beginning of the second war. As the months pass, Ernie finds that he has to decide which roads are the most dangerous ...

Reviewer: EtherealElation Signed
Date: 11/02/06 Title: Chapter 1: Part One

Ooh... I like this one. I've never seen an Ernie fic... Very awesome start, if I do say so myself. I love it. Please keep it up, keep us updated soon! You did an amazing job on your characterization, too, as well as all the allusions to familiar characters. Most excellent - Bravissima!

~Juliet

Author's Response: Thank you -- I\'ve submitted the second part now. It was just an odd idea for a oneshot that grew unexpectedly. :)

Waiting for this Moment by MagicMissMaggie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: For as far back as she can remember Hermione has spent the first two weeks of July at her cousin’s country home, exploring every inch of the surrounding area. In the summer before her fourth year at Hogwarts, however, Hermione discovers something that she never expected. This secret that the wood holds will change forever the way she sees the world around her.

The first part in a series illustrating Hermione’s summers, this is also my first ever Fan Fiction. It’s a big project, I know, but I hope to deliver it well. Please enjoy!

Hmm... Intriguing chapter, I'd certainly like to see more! Excellent cliffhanger there. Brava!

~Juliet

Author's Response: I can promise you, this is definitely not the end! And I am a sucker for cliffhangers. A little risky for a first chapter, but so much fun. Thanks for r/r-ing!

Position Vacant by bajab

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Minerva has trouble finding a new DADA professor, so holds interviews for the position.
Reviewer: EtherealElation Signed
Date: 11/04/06 Title: Chapter 1: The DADA Interviews

Oooh... That was really something funny, that was. Excellent story - the ending was the best part, which is even better. It got kind of slow through the middle when applicant after applicant came, though I liked the enthusiasm the members of the school showed to keep the school open - maybe consider taking a few of the applicants out, if you edit it? Other than that, it was great. I love the brandy part - it added a spice to the situation with the fact that the reader was really drawn into Minerva's longings and such. Bravissima!

~Juliet

Author's Response: Others keep telling me to make it longer and include everybody in it! :)

The Ballad of Lucius Malfoy: An Unappealing Appeal by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Lucius Malfoy's appealing to the Wizengamot after being caught in the Department of Mysteries, trying to convince them that he's not evil.

Quite silly, really.
Reviewer: EtherealElation Signed
Date: 11/06/06 Title: Chapter 1: Lucius's Excuses-es

*gasps for air* Oh, that was beautiful. Lustrous hair... Indeed, indeed. xD Great work here!

~Juli

Author's Response: Why thank you! For more on Lucius\'s lusciously lustrous hair, go here:http://sherbet-lemon.net/vid.php and click on the video called \'Hair.\" It\'s very fun. :)

Trust and Betrayal: A Prequel by Starmom

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Summary: What happened on that fateful night at Godric's Hollow and the (still!) unknown events that followed in the next twenty four hours, before Harry's arrival on Privet Drive? What motivated the actions and decisions that were made in the years leading up to the defeat of Voldemort? The truth is neither black or white - only complicated shades of grey. Behind the stories of Lily Evans, Severus Snape and Peter Pettigrew we learn that we are all vulnerable to evil.

Oooh... The intrigue here is absolutely superb. Wonderful start to what looks to be an amazing tale - I was just re-reading the Sorcerer's Stone last night, and the celebration stuff was one of my favorite lines, so I'm glad to see it included here. Very nice - very good with the characterization, and please, keep it up!

~Juliet

Author's Response: Thanks! Congrats on being my very first reviewer!!! I have several chapters completed, so look for more coming soon!

Hmm... Well, it was certainly a new take on things, though I can't say it was one of the better I've seen. I've seen better characterization, and, most unfortunately, that is my pet peeve... Other than that, this one isn't too bad - the storyline is good, it could just use a bit of Jo's characters in it. Nice start, though!

My name is Lily Potter, and this is the story of what happened when my father returned after six years missing to find my mother about to re-marry. "Oh, I can so die happy now!" -Sirius Potter

Date: 09/30/07 Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Lily's Perfect Ending

Oh
My
Gosh.

I started reading this for reasons I don't even remember now - it was a while ago, though, wasn't it?
I can still remember the feeling after reading the end of the first chapter and thinking "WHAT? She can't possibly leave me hanging there."
But you did.
And I followed.

I'd forget about it, and then, once in a while, the story would creep back into my mind. Something about it was just so terribly appealing - I had to find it again.
So I'd look it up
and read the next chapter.
Rinse, and repeat.

Chapter by chapter, until now -
Now it's finished.

I'm hanging in a void right now, torn between the fact tha ' over
it's done
wait - it can't be!
And the wonderfulness of the ending.

May I applaud you on the finale of a gala story unlike any I have ever read. The characters seem to leap from Rowling's page to yours, and back again now at the end.

There is so much to say, and yet no time to do so, lest I bore you...

All I can say is
Bravissima, Bella.

Until you write again,
Juliet.

Author's Response: I know what you mean about going in and out of reading stories, and I\'m glad you made it to the finish of mine -- and liked it! Thanks for the high praise.

Ooh, how could you!

Write more soon, please! That was a terribly awful cliffhanger to leave us, er... hanging with. xD Bad pun, sorry.

~Juliet

Author's Response: Bad pun but good review :) Thanks!

Christmas Kisses by Kerichi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Early Christmas morning, not a Malfoy or Weasley was stirring...except Draco and Ginny, who met for Christmas breakfast and ended up making a meal of Christmas kisses.

*A Tale of Two Matchmakers holiday outtake*

Reviewer: EtherealElation Signed
Date: 12/19/06 Title: Chapter 1: Christmas Kisses

Wow... This was really sweet - even if I'm a Harry/Ginny fan myself. My favorite part was the "shyly pleased" line... Most poetically beautiful. And a wonderful mental image.
Great work here.
Merry Christmas!
~Juli

Author's Response: Ta, Thanks! I keep to canon in my current R/T fic, where Ginny and Tonks have had a few girl talks (Moonlight and Shadow, 8 chaps so far, you might like it, lol) but this is my alternate Potterverse, where I get to go Phantom and pretend the \'truth\' is what it ought to be. :D

Fast paced, but long enough not to leave me wondering or make me bored. Nice work!

It seemed too short notice - she finds out she's pregnant, goes to the hospital, she had twins, oh no, one died, and everyone is acting like it's Dumbledore all over again. Kind of unrealistic? Maybe. Still makes a good read.

Author's Response: You may think so...but just wait! This is a very realistic thing; pregnancies can be very unpredictable.
