A Wedding for All Ages by unicorngirl22

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Tonks and Remus are getting married! Follow them through the purposal, the planning, the day before, the wedding and the dance and dinner. What will happen in this story of two lovers?

I have currently marked this story as complete since I don't think I'll be writing much more onto it. If I decide to add on later I will.

Congratulations on the publication of the second chapters. I love seeing things that I betaed up.
I went through this again and I was reminded of those paintings. I had loved the use of them the first time through, but it works so well in this chapter because it is mostly about Draco's attempt to bury his own past. I always found it the perfect ironic twist that the paintings, which almost seem to be taunting him in some way, serve as the things that set his actions in motion in this chapter. The past of others is going to shape his future, but at the same time he doesn't want his own past to influence it all. The burning of his Hogwarts books, kind of reminded me in strange way of Witness Protection people that have to burn all their credit cards and stuff. The thought just occured to me and then I realized how much it is about scourging himself of his own identity to take on that of a Death Eater, who do not seem to have real identities of their own, but instead have tried to take on that of the Dark Lord (Snape and Bellatrix are the two possible exceptions to this rule).
I loved your characterisation of Narcissa. We all know that at Spinners End she was crying about Draco possibly dieing. You kind of humanized her in this chapter and pushed that concept even further. When she sees Draco burning everything, she is seeing the metophoric death of his former self and it is very visible through her distress that she is seeing this. Bellatrix works as the perfect foil for this. They almost work in an almost light and dark metaphor in this chapter. Bella is pulling him to the dark side, while Narcissa is trying to stop this from happening.
Keep up the good work.

I'm sorry I took so long to review. I didn't realize that it got published. Congratulations. Looking this over again reminded me of all the things that I liked about this story. I love the way that you characterised Draco. It seems true to the way that he was shown in the book. He isn't having a sudden epiphany like I have seen in many other stories, but he isn't completely evil either. He is showing true fright and he sounds like he's trying to convince himself that he is evil. It is really well done. I really loved one line that you put in about Bellatrix, "he knew she would not hesitate to kill him if the Dark Lord ordered her so." It is just such a perfect perfect way of showing the depths of cruelty that we all know that Bellatrix is capable of and the sick twisted devotion that she has for Voldemort. The way you nailed down the death Eater customs is also great. The throne and each one has to bow and kiss the hem of the robe before going away and then the way that you incorporated it into the story so that it also serves as a way for Draco to hide his thoughts and fear from the Dark Lord works so well with it. The little things that you put in about Voldemort that are callbacks to other books like how he is not deserving of the Dark Lord's forgiveness reminds me of a line in Goblet of Fire and little things like that that make your Voldemort so like Jo's. Also, the way you worked in the change that Draco has gone through from the summer before to this day and how he was so idealistic in a weird way about the Death Eaters and their innner workings and how now it is different for him. It seems like many of the Death Eaters feel that way from past books. There seems to be a mix of fear and respect in all of them and it shows in Draco too. It really is a good sight into the mind of a Death Eater really well.

Decadent Love by Pixichik118

First off, I'd like to say how much respect I have for people that can right poetry in rhyme. I usually give up and end up doing free verse.
I think that the start of the poem is weaker than your in end. It somehow seems to come out as kind of amateurish compared to the end. Or it might be a compliment to the finish. After the first three stanzas the poem just starts to grab you and flow easily. You created an imagery that really works and help the reader know exactly what Harry is feeling.
One line that really didn't work for me in the start was, "Where’s the electricity that surged through our every kiss?" I don't know exactly what it is. It might be the pentameter or maybe it has something to do with the rhyme. It just seems to make sense with the plot of the poem but not the scheme for some reason.
I loved how you brought up things that can be accociated with physical injury and pain to bring out what Harry is going through at that moment, "blood-red sky" "lights turn to black and blue." It helps the imagery and mood so much more.
As well as the winter theme that seems to be running through, "Even in the bitter winter", "icicle-ornamented clouds", "frozen in time and space". It helps push along the lonliness and cold feeling. Winter has always been used to exemply a time that is barren and hopeless. It helps show that sadness that Harry is feeling.
One line that stood out to me while I was reading this was, "And it flows, on icicle-ornamented clouds." It is such and unusual way to express this, but somehow I know exactly what you are talking about and the image that it creates.
My favorite stanza though was the last one:
I'll stop this train,
We'll all be frozen in time and space.
All will halt.
Time will erase all regrets,
And we’ll be nothing more than silhouettes.

It kind of reminds me of the poem Ode on a Grecian Urn with the desire to freeze the happy and more innocent times. Also the line about silhouettes. It is such a great way to end off. I love that line.
The stanza also shows the progression that Harry's character has gone thorugh since that first time on the Hogwarts Express. It is such a relateable feeling, wanting to go back to a happier time during a time of depression and living in that one happy time.
Nice job!

Author's Response: Wow, thanks for the outstanding review! *thinks over enerything you said* and I\'m glad you liked my clouds! hehe

Dark Lord Voldy's Shattered Soul Club Band by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Well... it's high time that I did something so completely insane that the wizards in white robes dragged me off to the closed ward in St. Mungo's.

So, I spoofed the entire album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles, to be performed by your favourite Dark Lord and choice Death Eaters in the style of a rock opera. Eat your lonely hearts out!

I don't recommend this fic to those who are not at all familiar with the Beatles.

I didn't realize that it was published. Wow, what you must think of me now, I'm the 17th reviewer.
First off, I want to say that this was such an original concept. I've never seen anyone do something like this. I expected it to come of weird and forced when I first agreed to beta it and that it would kind of make fun of the Beatles (an unspeakable sin in my books). But, you pulled it off perfectly. And from the amount of reviews already, I'm betting that we'll convert many a people to being Beatles fan (we're going to take over the world soon. Forget Voldy, I'm slavishly loyal to John, Paul, George and Ringo. Wish that John had made Hocruxes, but then agian if he did, Imagine wouldn't have worked nearly as well, would it?) I'm still laughing at "With a Little Yelp from my Foes" it never fails to amuse me. It is so funny, but it is still so Bella, twisted and kind of insane. It is actually one of the weaker songs on the album in my opinion (still better than any song on any other album though), but you made it my favorite in this series.
I just discovered another line that I didn't mention to you before that is making me roll around laughing on the floor. From Avada Kedavra, "Nothing to say, he’ll die today–how’s his life been?" It just fits so perfectly into the music and is so the opposite of what the Beatles did.
I can't imagine how long this took you to write, I know how long it took me to beta this and that's enough. You managed to create something absolutely hilarious, but managed to stay true to everyone in the cannon, in a weird way. All the charactistics are heightens as always happens in Humor, but I love the way that you drew on serious things in the books and made them funny, Not Much Better and She's Begging Snape. It all makes it even more ironic and hilarious. So, thanks for giving us all a laugh and giving me an excuse to blare Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (something that I'm still doing now eventhough this has been published for over a week). I've been officially Schmergorized and there are some mince men it white coats waiting for me right now. I've got to go and hope that there won't be any electro shock therapy today.

Author's Response: Aw! What a detailed and thoughtful review! I\'m so glad you liked it, as both a Beatles fan and a Potter fan. For some reason, she\'s begging Snape is one of my favourite songs on here, just because I can totally see Snape singing it (and it wrote itself-- I barely had to work on it.) Schmergorized... that\'s a new word! Thanks once again for doing such a lovely job betaing this! (By the way, I may submit a Phantom of the Opera filkstravaganza called \"The Phoenix of the Order\" if the site will accept it.)
