The Ghost of Godric Gryffindor by GoG

Rated:
Summary: At the start of Harry’s sixth year, the wizarding world is falling further under Voldemort’s evil control. Fudge has declared a draconian State of Emergency, but he is little more than Lucius Malfoy’s corrupt puppet. But when Malfoy seeks to impose Voldemort’s racist Pureblood ideology upon Hogwarts - the last bastion of the Light - the students rise up in revolt.

The spirits of the great Witches and Wizards of the Light, fearful for the future of the Wizarding world, send Harry and his friends a powerful ally, to help them in the desperate struggle to save Hogwarts and the wizarding world from impending darkness.

An epic struggle of Good against political corruption, racism, elitist ideology ... and Ultimate Evil. The roller-coaster plot twists and turns into the past and future – and Nightmare Realities, where the terrible consequences of failing to stop Voldemort are chillingly revealed.

A story to fascinate the intelligent reader ... philosophy, politics, time-travel, romance, humour ... and a few very cunning ideas.

Outstanding chapter! All the magical creatures, Malfoy getting Squibbed, and Snape's ungreatfulness!

I'm enjoying your tale very much and I'm glad I gave it another try. I knew Hermoine would start to add things up where Rick is concerned! Potions class was teriffic! Well done!

What a twist! The tables are turned. Three against one are much better odds. It seems that "future Harry" has been successful with his animagus form. Can't wait to read the next chapter!

Amazing chapter! A great place to set an evil plan in motion - potions class, right under Snape's nose. I'll say it again, I'm glad I gave this story a second chance! Wonderful! (PS - JKR is/was developing Dacro's character along the way you described below - and don't forget what he said at the end of book 5 "You're dead, Potter!"

Writing time travel is a tricky business. It must be logical and this is. Too bad Rick can't save Harry's parents, but Dumbledore is probably right about the consequences. Amazing story! 10!

Umbridge! Umbridge! Not her - again! Shocking! Horrific! Maybe Harry and Hermoine can convince Firenze to make an appearance in Umbridge's office. Who's going to teach Transfiguration? I'm hooked!

AHHH! Thank God the next chapter is there to read or I'd be going nuts! It's similar to the Prisoner of Azkaban when Harry thinks his father cast the stag patronus, but then realizes at the very last possible moment that it's he who does it. Should Rick cast the shield or not? It's good thinking that he could let the scence playout without interfering, but he has the option of going back in time to cast the shield if needed. A+ 100!

Nightmare, indeed! Snape chugging Firewiskey is quite funny, though. The only thing I can think of is that Hermoine gets a time twister and rescues Rick! Ha, ha. Anyway, wonderful!

It's the year from hell! Dementors, Death Eaters, Vampires, Spiders, Malfoys, Umbridge, Abductions, Voldemort! Oh my!

Very exciting! Loved the new Ginny Chaser Queen song! I wished those muggle borns and mixed bloods would have all risen and started hexing Lucius right there! I'm enjoying your story immensely! Definitely a 10.

Another excellent chapter! Lots of action. Hermoine's dialoge is exceptional! Well done, again!

Back to the story: I enjoyed the Draco impersonation/Death Eater ritual sequence and was relieved when it was revealed that Rick had the wand back. I agree that Rick would have been at Godric's Hollow twice and you carried that scene off nicely. As far as the Easter discussion goes, I think that what was said by the Headmaster was certaintly plausible for the Harry Potter Universe which is a separate from our own reality.

I'm almost afraid to click on the epilogue! I can honestly say that I've enjoyed this story like no other!

Wow! I love that Ginny is the Quidditch Queen! Harry certainly found his inner animal just in time and I look forward to seeing him use his animagus form again. Snape's questioning of Harry in Dumbledore's office was believable, very much in character. I'm glad the Gryffindors got to celebrate and dance, which always makes it a much better party. Our brilliant Hermione once again used her superior intellect to pose a solution to the problem of the dementors. I wonder if that solution could be applied to Voldemort?

Thank you for spending the months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes it look to write this masterpiece! It's been an incredible journey and I've enjoyed every minute of it! You've taken us through every possible scenario from time travel to alternative realities, from spiritual connections to unrequited love, from the return of Umbridge to the unparalleled Squibbing spell, and even some unfathomable horrors; and yet you have landed us safely back at Hogwarts Castle on the back of a Norwegian Ridgeback at sunset. All is right in the storyland tonight!

Extremely creative: the Magical Petition! The Ghost is wonderful too - putting everything back to normal again. Favorite line (re: Umbridge keeping a low profile): "...with her short and dumpy shape, she was already pretty low to the ground..." I couldn't stop laughing!

Brilliant twist - a Sadie Hawkins-style Ball. Ron doesn't seem too upset about Hermione going to the Ball with Rick, is he over her? Great story!

I knew Hermione would figure some of it out! A wonderful chapter, full of fun and information.
