Hi, I'm Emily.

It really bugs me that I can't put an apostrophe in my user name. Yeah.

I guess that since I've actually posted a story now, I should tell you a little more about myself. I live in California, I love Harry Potter (why would I be here if I didn't?), and I'm currently working on reading the series in Spanish.

In some unrelated to Harry Potter news (Since this is a HP website, do not feel obligated to continue reading), I'm just slightly obsessed with Stephen Colbert, Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot blows my mind, I want to become fluent in Spanish, and my favorite word is galvanize. I enjoy good grammar, but do not always use it, and I use the adjective "amazing" frequently, accompanied by emphatic hand gestures that wouldn't really translate into typing.

Summary: Ten years have elapsed since Dumbledore's death and McGonagall has Hogwarts back on its feet again. Hermione and Malfoy both teach at the school. But when a new teacher is hired to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts, everyone seems to feel that they've met him before. A story of mystery, passion, friendship, and jealousy… not to mention that Harry Potter has been missing for ten years and Voldemort is dead. (All violence is mild).

Thesis for my style analysis essay thus far: "The simple sentences of the characters' speech creates a contrast from the complex syntax used to describe the scene, and the author effectively utilizes itallics to express the thoughts of the characters and build their personalities." ... or something to that effect
