The Unseemly Proposal by sparx

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Read to find out how this one unseemly proposal causes absolute chaos in their lives! THIS STORY IS NOT HBP and DH COMPATIBLE! Hey all! Check out my personal info for the expected date of the next update. =)

I read all the chapters and found a few minor typing errors.
I found the story interesting. Normally I don't read 34 chapters unles it's the actual book, but your story made me read and now I'm waiting for more.
Try to focus on describing the surroundings and the facial expressions in a bit more detail. This way we can accurately picture the scene in our heads.

Good work.

Author's Response: Thanks for the tip! I will definitely keep that in mind the next time I\'m writing. I guess sometimes I get too caught up with the characters that I neglect other details. Thanks again for the advice! =D

Rufus' Siege by Magical Maeve

Rated:
Summary: Meet Rufus Norton, a sixth year Slytherin who finds himself in a bit of a fix.

This was written in response to a challenge from Seren. I had to write a siege at Hogwarts from the first person POV of a Slytherin boy. A main character had to die, Ron and Neville had to be in the story and the Slytherin had to feel some admiration for them. I had a hard time getting the 'voice' of my Slytherin until I saw Rufus Wainwright perform at Glastonbury and there he was! So thank you, Rufus, for the inspiration! LOL

Lethal Affection by Phoenix5225

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: It has been said that when a butterfly flaps its wings, the effects are felt on the other side of the earth. And so it is the same with our past. Every memory, every scene we have witnessed, every emotion we have felt, has shaped us into the people we have become. How is it that an event that occurred thirty years ago can affect an action today? How do we begin to understand this phenomenon so that we may alter the paths of our future? And most importantly, how will one man learn to love one woman, when for him, feeling affection for another has led to nothing but death?

If writing is like painting, then Magical Maeve is Da Vinci

Author's Response: *blushes like mad* Thank you so much!

Ultramarine by Magical Maeve

Rated: Professors •
Summary: Peter Pettigrew meddles with things he probably shouldn't, and Severus and Hermione take tea together.

This is a little alternate universe off-shoot of my Daughter of Light series, provoked by a very naughty PM from Jenna this morning. There are scenes of a sexual nature - you have been warned. This will probably be a few chapters in length.

The story lacks descriptive imagery of the surroundings, the feeling etc.
Try working on those, but the story is still great.

Well done !
But Lily wasn't truly herself in the last bit, was she?

Author's Response: Put it this way: Lily was constantly hearing \"Snape said this\" \"Snape said that\". She knew deep down that her friend would never insult her behind her back like that, but after hearing it so often, it started getting to her, especially after hearing James\' concerns about Lily being Severus\' friend (James tends to be a little jealous). That combined with the stress that lingers after the NEWTs, Lily was pretty sensitive and on edge at the time. Not herself? Sure. Grossly OOC? I don\'t think so. This chapter was in Severus\' POV, you\'ll have a bit on Lily\'s POV in chapter 2 so you\'ll get to understand more why Lily reacted the way she did and what she thinks of her actions now. Thank you so much for the review!!!
