I love the Harry Potter books. I even sort of maybe very probably might like the films (I think), even though they left out Peeves. John Williams is a genius - I was sad when he stopped doing the music. Patrick Doyle is great - just not John Williams!

I love "Moments of Bliss" by Moonymaniac, it is well worth checking out.

MOMENTS OF BLISS by moonymaniac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Remus Lupin is a man with a tragic past, filled with pain, suffering and sorrow. But it is also a past filled with great adventure, true friendship and…love? Even though the odds were against him, Remus found happiness at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He had the Marauders, he was a prefect and his transformations were less horrible, thanks to his Animagi friends. What more could a teenage werewolf want? And how long could his happiness last? Remus and the Marauders prove that in the saddest of lives and darkest of times, there can still be moments of bliss.

Remus centric but with a lot of the other Marauders. This story is a romance, but has almost as much general Marauder era background and side story as romance.
Pre-HBP and DH, so some things from DH will be disregarded, as the warning indicates, but some Spoilers will be incorporated.

I am totally with James and Sirius on this - get a move on Moony! I thought that Lily and Remus would win the duel though - I would have thought James would change sides if he saw Sirius flipping Lily's robe - he is rather serious about her. I was surprised he didn't hex Sirius.

Author's Response: Oh, Moony is a slow mover! There just always seems to be an obstical to overcome. But there is a reason for it, I promise! Remus kept James too busy to pay much attention to Sirius and James knows his best mate isn't really going to go to far with the girl he loves. There is too much trust there. Thanks, Buckbeak22.

You are going for the full treatment here. It is wonderful! To be honest, I was half expecting an easy solution, although from your past writing I wasn't sure. Wonderful chapter, my favourite so far. Thank you for a lovely afternoon read.

Author's Response: :) Thank you, Buckbeak22. Yes, the full treatment, though I\'m sure some would say it is a little too full. LOL An easy solution...*giggles* do you think I\'m getting worn out after all this time? LOL I have to admit, the temptation to skip over a few complicated things has crossed my mind, but that wouldn\'t be fair to my readers, especially the ones like you who have been with me for so very long. Your favourite, so far? That makes the effort so worth it. Thank you, Buckbeak22. :)

I am not at all sorry the romance took a long time in coming. I loved all the preceeding chapters, and you have managed to give us a wonderfully intimate portrait of Lupin and his friends, which helps now you have the love interest. I think you do the Marauders very well. I have put you on my favorites list.

Author's Response: Favorites List? That's the best compliment a reviewer can give. Thank you; I hope I can live up to it. I must admit to being obsessed with the Marauders so I am glad you like the way I have written them. I hope they are in character.

Very funny! I love the fact that he was the only casulty in a battle he wasn't part of.

Author's Response: I'm glad you found this funny. I worry about my ability to add humor. I could never tell a decent joke. JKR is sooo good at subtle humor, hopefully I've read her enough that a little has rubbed off.

Not only are you giving us a wonderful portrait of Lupin, but you are also giving us a good picture of Peter. He is very believable, and you can see the character flaws that lead him to betray his friends later, while feeling sorry for him and quite liking him now.

Author's Response: I'm glad you like Peter. It is so tempting to make him an "idiot git" since we know what he does later, but he was a Marauder and had to have been alright for them to like him enough to include him in that. Thank you for commenting on him. That is exactly how I hoped he would be received.

Nooo Sirius - don't get involved! I think the book is a great idea, because it will give her time to think before she sees him again. Then she won't feel bulldozed. Obviously Sirius feels differently.

I liked this chapter a lot. I like the little James/Lily bits creeping in. I like Lindi's blurting out what she thinks as soon as she thinks it as you have made that very typical. I liked the French Kisses lesson (although I thought the boys were cowards in not taking part) and I thought the roots growing down James' throat were hysterical.

Can't wait for the next chapter. I will be rooting for Lindi to beat James, although I can't help feeling that he would probably look good bald, which might make him even more big headed.

Author's Response: *hehehe* Sirius is quite opinionated, isn\'t he? Ah, someone who likes the book idea...:) And I\'m glad you liked the chapter. I get a little nervous about Lily/James, since I don\'t have quite as good a feel for either of them as I like to think I have for some of the others, but I really can\'t very well ignore them in a Marauders\' tale, so I really appreciate the encouraging words. Lindi needs to learn to think before she speaks. ;) The boys were either cowards or lazy slobs...I\'m not sure which. Glad you liked James nearly choking to death. lol Poor James isn\'t getting a lot of support for the challenge, either. *tries to picture James bald* But I\'m not sure his head can get any bigger. LOL Thank you, Buckbeak22.

Perfect!

Great chapter. I love the way you mentioned the consternation on Sirius being Sorted into Gryffindor.

Author's Response: Thanks. I enjoy writing about Sirius almost as much as Remus.

I liked this chapter. It sounds very likely, and I think the way you portray Lupin's parents is wonderful. They come across as more than cardboard characters, or "framework" to supoprt Lupin in the story. You really feel his sense of family.

Author's Response: Thank you. I will admit to being pleased with them. Some of my favorite scenes down the line have his parents in them. Ever since Remus told Harry that they had done all they could, I have seen them this way. I'm really glad you like them.

OK, I forgot...his cousins that he so liked when he was little moved to Australia. I just put two and two together! I think.

Author's Response: Hm! Don't know what I want to say about this. Let me think and I'll get back to you.

Gosh, poor Will. Bad news is definitely an understatement. And I don't believe Lindi has really moved on... I do love the James/Lily bits. They sound completely natural. And I like Sirius's settee!

Author's Response: I know, poor Will...ugh... You don't believe Lindi has moved on...what, you think Remus is deluding himself? O.O Remus? Calm cool and collected Remus? Could he be that wrong? <.< Oh, yay, you like the James/Lily...I'm always so afraid they will seem forced. And last but not least, LOL at liking Sirius' settee! Ha...I see him more as a big squishy futon sort of guy, but also a newly disowned young man who might not want to squander his funds on trivial items like furniture. So an old fashioned, hand me down settee would be perfect, if not quite as comfortable for a big guy to stretch out on. He's got the mismatched recliners for that! :) Thanks, Buckbeak22.

If he is going to tell her, why doesn't he? I really like your portrayal of Lily. I also want to know more about what is going on with Peter... Moving on to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Ha, good question! I don't think even he really knows! I'm glad you like what I've done with Lily and as to Peter...he's an idiot and a traitorous rat. Oh, that's not what you mean, is it? :P Thank you, Buckbeak22. It's good to see you were here on the last day of 2012. Moving on to 2013...how many years have we been together now? My... Time flies!!!!

I guess this is before Dumbledore learned how to see under invisibility cloaks? The plot is getting thicker and thicker... Is Lindi going to end up dead or a Death Eater? I hope Remus manages to speak to her soon!

Author's Response: I know you don't expect an answer for that last question. ;) As to the first, I almost gave some small bits of the next chapter away, in answering. Ooops...I forgot I hadn't posted some parts yet. I thought I had, since I wrote it a while ago and the chapter is getting very long. >.< I hope I can finish what I want to put in it before I hit the word limit!!! (Yes, it is getting close to being finished. Wish me luck! (The chapter, not the story.) *sigh*) I'll just say I think Dumbledore is well aware that Remus is there and just didn't give any indication. :)

Thank you for updating! Another wonderful chapter - does Lindi realize that she is STILL in the maid's costume? And is there anything that Sirius wouldn't do? Makes me wonder if there will be a revelation of sorts in the next chapter!!!

Author's Response: :) Thank you for still reading. I'm so glad you liked it. I've been feeling insecure about it, so thanks for that. Hmm...Lindi gets distracted. <.< I think she's a little more relaxed after being in it for a while (and nursing that drink) and she's over there by herself, absorbed in her books, thinking the boys are absorbed in their cards and not paying any attention to her. >.> Silly Lindi... Ahh Sirius...that's a good question. ;) I can't wait to find out myself! *Hehe* He's so much fun to write. :)

Love it. Don't notice anything wrong with the slang either. I really like the way Sirius has made being a cad into an art form. It is those little throw away sentences you drop into the conversation that make it so funny Also I like the way you put in the full moon so matter of factly. It isn't overdone, or understated, just part of his life.

Author's Response: Thank you! I see you would know about the slang, being British yourself. I'll count on you to keep me straight.

I am in two minds about whether or not to forgive you for this cliff hanger. Much more of this and the padded cells will be filled to bursting with your readers. How can Remus stand it? On the other hand, Hooray! I am so glad Lindi actually asked about Celia, at least she has her mind put at rest (as much as it can be put at rest!) If she has an insecurity complex this big, is she going to be possessive? How is he going to keep his furry little problem a secret? You really have the knack of hooking readers, as I need to know the answers, so I hope you update soon!

Author's Response: *snicker* Lately I’ve been in a friendly dispute with my beta about who is the most evil, (she is, btw! ;) ) so I decided to try a little “mischievousness” with my lovely, wonderful, loyal, PATIENT, readers. LOL And of course, I must continue to test Remus, to see if he is as perfect as I think. :) And yes, Lindi had to have that cleared up. Ah, the questions…*contemplates response* Of course, you don’t really expect one here, do you? ;) I will say that the insecurity complex might play a role in future, possibly, maybe…but I won’t say for sure, or how, when, or where, if it does. *rolls eyes* Aren’t I helpful? If I told you, you wouldn’t need to come back, and that would not be good. So, I will try to get the next chapter up asap. It is coming along, but still has a way to go. Definitely not next week. :*( But not a month, either, barring some strange, unforeseen problem. :) Thanks so much, Buckbeak22! I hope you stay hooked! We\'ve been together a while now. Thanks!

I just read your details. Don't worry too much about reviews. Sometimes it depends on the character as to how many people want to read about them. It isn't just the wonderful stories that get lots of reviews, some awful ones have loads too. I don't think you have to worry about your work!

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I have updated the details.

Poor Remus! How can he tell her now? Won't he have to wait until she gets home so that they can be apart if she doesn't take it well? Poor Mrs. Lupin too - I can't imagine my son bringing anyone home. Scary thought.

I liked the bit with the Quintaped too, and the Red Caps. You keep Lindi so well in character as a girly girl.

Author's Response: Yes, poor, poor Remus! Do you think Lindi might not take it well? And yes, Poor Mrs. Lupin; hasn\'t that woman suffered enough? I refuse to imagine my son bringing anyone home. *warning to any future girlfriends of my son: I\'ll be a scary mother-in-law! LOL I’m glad you enjoyed the Quintaped and Red Caps. I love JKR\'s Fantastic Beasts book, so that was fun to research and write, and thanks for that on Lindi. I think she is a girly girl to the core, at least when it comes to creepy crawlies! Thank you, Buckbeak22.

Actually good, glad the hexes are wearing off - Lindi might do better defending someone else than looking after herself, so perhaps she will be able to hex James and Sirius for Remus if they tease him too much...or perhaps that wouldn't be kind to Peter, if he happened to be on the recieving end when the hex went astray. Great writing as always. Very funny.

Author's Response: Thank you, Buckbeak22. Lindi might actually attempt to hex them if she could hear them teasing poor Remus. Fortunately, she isn't there to hear that! You are so kind hearted worrying for Peter. Thanks again.
