Imperius by Pallas

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: “Imperius… Werewolves…You-Know-Who…” The last words of a dying man force Remus Lupin into a dangerous investigation at the infamous Feral Institute. Sequel to Oblivious; pre-reading would be useful but it isn’t vital.

ah excellent chapter. Really interesting idea re: effect of kiss on Kane, and implications of what might happen to other ferals. Loved bit at the end, with huge moral and personal dillemas hanging over you, theres nothing better than some nice social humiliation eh? really gd chapter. look forward to next.

Enjoyed the chapter though nothing in particular happened, just very vague ideas of what might be going to happen. looking forward to next chapter though.

Great chapter. Very intriguing new characters, and great suspense. I love seeing Remus and Tonks working together and can't wait for next chapter.

Enjoyed the chapter a lot, tonks/remus argument a good way to get across the implications of their discovery. And while not exactly a cliffhanger, i am in suspense at to what harry and ron have overheard/deduced. Good work!

A broken man, he is struggling merely to stay alive when one of the guards takes an interest in him. This is an interest that could get her into serious trouble as she tries to save the life of a man who may not want to be saved.

Ooo. exciting. gah. can't wait for more. Lupin was excellent and in character, weary as ever.

Author's Response: I know...poor Lupin!

Oo nice story. Very interesting. moving and katherine is a great oc. Does this lead on from dol and ss or not?

Author's Response: Thanks for dropping by to review this one too, ellidiot! It's going to be related loosely to SS but it is in no way an indication of what happens at the end of SS...even I don't know exactly what's going to happen at the end of SS yet! LOL This is just a bit of Christmas fluff.

Ah excellent chapter. Snape and Maeve's characters shown well- the similarities and differences in a similar situation. I look forward to more.

Author's Response: I thought it would be interesting to see how they were both coping with incarceration. And just one more chapter to go!

Great chapter, am liking your character more and more. Look forward to seeing Lupin and Narcissa.

Author's Response: Hope Lupin and Narcissa lived up to your expectations. It was a short glimpse of them...but they were instrumental to theplot.

Resolution by Vindictus Viridian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: "You did not come here to play chess."
On New Year's Eve, Minerva McGonagall finds herself without the usual distractions of students and staff. She decides there is only one way to solve the puzzle before her, and that she will have to take a rather large chance.
This was a submission for the Redemption Challenge and contains huge howling unavoidable HBP spoilers.

Really enjoyed it, both characters come across perfectly. The chess game is a very neat parallel and works very well in your fic. Good work!

Author's Response: Thank you! Particularly for the character comment -- I may have to throw these two together a few more times.

In the Eyes of Others by Vindictus Viridian

Rated: Professors •
Summary: Severus has never seen the appeal of repetition, particularly of things that ended badly the first time. In his life, he has kept one pet, owned one broom, and had one close friend.

Winner of Mod Quicksilver Quill for Best Novel! Thanks, all!

Rating and warnings do not apply to all chapters; I just didn't want anyone hooked and then shocked.
"What is it?" His mother held out her hand, and he put the letter in it wordlessly. "Are you eleven already?"

His father lowered the newspaper to look at the calendar. "Yesterday. ‘Appy birthday." And that was the end of that.

ah some very cunning ideas this chapter. Nice to see that snape can still outsmart the marauders even if they do have the map. look forward to more.

Author's Response: Some cunning ideas -- and a little of the luck that Severus insists on believing he does not have. Thanks for the review and read. More will follow!

I cannot believe it's over. :( please keep writing anyhow, there are many incidents in the books I'd like to see from this accurate Severus' point of view, not to mention book 7 possibilities. A brilliant fanfiction that I've enjoyed no end x

Author's Response: "accurate Severus" -- aw, shucks. More writing is a certainty. I can't seem to stop. Where it will wind up is another question altogether. Thanks for reviewing so loyally throughout!

I love this story. So nice to read a fic that fits in with hbp canon, but still seems to understand snape. Enjoying it immensely.

Author's Response: Thank you! I always found that the interesting thing about Severus was that he could always be doing any particular thing for at least three reasons, at least one of them pretty good and at least one of them rather evil. For writing this, I generally tried to make ALL of those reasons the right one. It keeps him properly complicated. Also very very challenging...

The History of Those We Thought We Knew by StaceyLC

Rated: Professors •
Summary: As Harry begins his quest for the remaining horcruxes, his world is turned completely upsidedown by the return of Severus Snape, and Harry learns more than he ever thought possible about Snape, his parents, and the burning question of Dumbledore's death.

Very good story, I'm enjoying it. You seem to have come up with a plausible plot fitting in with hbp and characterisation is good so far. Look forward to more.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you! I tried to do my research on the whole Snape/Malfoy situation. :)

The Curse of the Toad by Vindictus Viridian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: "If you judge people, you have no time to love them." --Mother Teresa.

To love James, Lily needs to discover his better side. To earn Lily's love, James needs to fight his own prejudices -- and learn to cope with battle-scarred tomcats, toads, and the sneakier side of his own nature. This was a Ravenclaw entry for February's Challenges -- and it won, by the way.

The SSP warning is because I simply cannot resist sticking Peter and Sirius together at all possible opportunities, even in the background of other higher pursuits. Mild profanity will also occur, a natural side effect of putting James and Severus within shouting distance of each other.

Very much enjoyed it. Am i right in thinking it fits into in the eyes of others after severus' dada display? I love your Lily, exactly as she should be, and the maturing James is also rather lovable, when he's in the common room of course. Very good work

Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, that's exactly where it fits in. James is indeed far more loveable in the common room, and in his own POV, than he is in the Severus fic!

Aw a lovely twist! Certainly in keeping for Lily to be the one to... Perfect. Just the way it should be. :D

Author's Response: Glad you liked it! Thanks for reviewing!

still really enjoying this story. That Lily is a clever one. That James really isn't, but it's good to see him growing up. lovely characterisation even if no action this chappie.

Author's Response: Every now and then the action has to slow for a minute and two people have to hiss at each other across a table in grand glaring public, no? I LOVE writing Lily. She may be the best gal to come out of my pen to date. Thanks for reviewing! I'm glad to see someone found my Toad!

An Evening at Queen's Hall by Vindictus Viridian

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Society-page reporter and music critic Imelda Skeeter found herself with a bit more to report than she had bargained for when she attended an Elgar oratorio in 1941. Formerly for the Daily Prophet Challenge, the society-event option, and bunnied by the discovery of a remarkable historical moment.

Interesting piece! Very convincing journalistic style for the period and I especially liked little details such as Dumbledore's suit. I've often wondered about the Grindelwald war and how far it was connected with WW2. Enjoyed, but a bit slow at the start before it got to the interesting bits.

Author's Response: Thanks! First review! Poor lady, here she'd written a perfectly acceptable slow-starting society concert review of 400 words, then what goes and happens to the hall? "Skeeter! 800 words on Queen's Hall, five minutes ago!" I had such fun with this. And I've always wondered about Grindelwald too. The incendiary bomb wedging between the roof and beams of the concert hall, in the official account, just sounded so Ministry-coverup I had to use it.

Blue Eyes Scheming by Vindictus Viridian

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: For Spring Challenge 4: Lamb to the Slaughter. Pigwidgeon brings a note to the Malfoy manor in the summer after Draco's fourth year of Hogwarts. This is a sequal to Blue Eyes Reflecting and Blue Eyes Reproachful; the boys are back again by popular demand. Thanks to Slian Martreb for beta-reading and garyf, joanna, and MrTibbles for a helpful canon check!

Very nice, a nice little explanation for Draco's increased abuse of Ron in ootp, you've really thought this through. So who was Lucius' first love? must go look for clues. Got Narcissa's sussed of course. Nice to have it linking with the rest of your fic world, the blue eyes have always seemed a separate package.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing (again!) You know, I have no idea who Lucius was in love with, or whether he's making something up to jolly along his son and give him a good puzzle. If it sends up bunnies for you, help yourself -- and let me know!
