The Unseemly Proposal by sparx

Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. That was an awesome first chapter! It had so many details and was so vivid and realistic. I can just imagine someone else writing this story and if they did it would be pretty dull because obviously they would be nothing a writer like you are. But what I was going to say was, the whole idea of Lucius Malfoy wanting to regain power and stuff like that, so much that he will force his son to marry a Muggleborn no matter what. At first it seems totally unrealistic, but when you think about it, it truly seems like something Lucius would do! It's just sooo realistic and awe-diddy-awesome. Mind the weirdness =D. I love this fic soooo much!

But I guess when you realize the extent of Lucius Malfoy's desperation, it does start to make sense somehow. Anyways, thank you for the awesome review! Ooh I'm very confident for some reason that there won't be a long wait this time! And yes of course I'll love Chapter Twenty as much as I loved 19. All of the chapters are amazing! Amazing. Just plain amazing XD. Wow now that I think about it, I was really STUPID not to think there was another way for Hermione and Draco to get together -- I guess that's the point the mods were trying to get to you? Hermione could be like stressed and stuff about homework, they said, on the inside. And Draco doesn't HAVE to turn nice. Wow. I'm stupid XD. You're very insightful =D. Awesome. I can't wait for more of your story! Ooh suspenseful =D. But I like suspense....... woot! Ten/ten of COURSE ..
Author's Response: Hey Everlasting! I'm actually trying to juggle school as well as writing, so I really hope that I can update this weekend! Aww, thank you sooo much! Haha... Nah, don't call yourself stupid! It's more of an enlightment more than anything else. And I agree with the mods about that. Draco doesn't have to change his lifestyle and attirtude just because he develops feelings for Hermione. And that's one of the points I'm trying to put across in this story. :O *Gasp* I feel like I haven't commented this story in forever, or maybe it's just been the wait between last chapter and this one... I was so excited/happy when I saw you'd updated! Thank you for continuing this beautiful fic sparx! At this point a lot of authors would have already quit or abandoned their fic, as it's been, I think two years? Wow, and you're still going, that's AMAZING! Never stop writing this =) Well, until it ends... haha. But really, this will always be the best fanfic I've ever read, it's just so... dimensional and in character, it has so many... bah it's hard to describe, it's so interesting and attention-grabbing and exciting and cute and heartbreaking and tear-worthy and blahblahblah you're made of pure awesome. The cliffhanger kills everyone, yes, but it's a mark that you're a great writer! In fact, the best writer on MNFF I think :) We love you sparx.

Good Lord, I haven't commented on this story forever! I am so sorry for this, sparx! Normally I'm not one to start blurting out excuses, but the reason is because my internet has not been working for 3 months!??! Seriously. Plus, I've been having photography class "downtown" lately from 9-12 in the morning, and I usually get up at like 3 o clock in the afternoon. Haha so I've been sleeping all day a lot lately. But - That doesn't mean I forgot about your story! You're still the best author I've ever read a fiction from, and you always will be. So,... anyway... I forget what chapter I last commented on, but all of the recent ones that I haven't commented on are just going to be comments similar to my other comments, so it would be pointless to say it again. I'm sure you know what I think of you and your story =]. I can't wait for the next chapter... omg, there was once in between i'm pretty sure chapters 28-32? and I hadn't been on mnff for the longest time because of the internet 'downage' and it was annoying me soo badly, and then went i went back on I was like, crying the entire time I read those four chapters. It was quite exciting =]. Well I hope your writing is going well, I can't WAAAAAAAAIT until the moderators accept it. Which they will. They have to. Wow. Amazing. Hermione helping Draco with his homework was rather sweet... lol and I loved the conversation between Hermione and the Malfoys. Interesting chapter! Nice update, really. I can't wait for the next chapter. I loved Ron's reaction when he was eating xD. Well amazing chapter! I'm sorry, I haven't been able to think of many ideas from your story. I just started algebra and it's really confusing so I'm trying to catch up, lol. Well, I'll try to think of something, but in the meantime keep up the storyline!

Thank you very much! I was kinda apprehensive about Hermione helping Draco out with his homework, and then I decided that it would be nice to add that little touch. I mean, they were generally having a good day together, so why not add a little more goodness, right? =D About Ron’s reaction, well I just thought that it would be something Ron would do. I don’t know if it’s accurate, but that’s how I perceive it to be. It’s alright if you haven’t been able to think of any ideas! It’s really OK. Besides, Algebra can be a real pain, so all the best to you for that! I'm just happy that you took your time to review this chapter, so don’t worry about it at all!

When I saw "Chapters: 18" I literally got tears in my eyes, LOL! That's how excited I was and I was like OMG!, I clicked on it, started reading, and was automatically appeased. This was a very good chapter and a suspicious ending, xD! Very well done, and I know how it feels to have someone constantly telling you that something happened that never did, and when just people don't take you seriously. It annoys the heck out of me and I feel like just attacking them! Okay well, definitely ten/ten for this one. Another amazing creation of yours! awww! i loved this; it was so sweet how they got to know each other better by arguing, which makes them not truly realize it. this was great. you portray the characters amazingly and i can't wait for the next chapter. wonderful job as usual, and i love the realistic time it's taking for them fall in love =] haha keep it up definitely. and i love their compromising ideas :]

I have to agree with Ejaus and Katrina. I absolutely loved the Malfoy-like Hermione smirk =D. Ejaus is right, Draco is always being too nice and everything in most Draco/Hermione fics and this is the first one I've ever seen that had Hermione going Malfoy's way.. you know what I mean haha. Well, yeah and Katrina's right, that update was pretty speedy! It seemed like an important chapter and I can't wait til the 20th chapter, hehe. W00t you rock, keep it up! Need I say it again? OMG!! This story rocks!! You're the bomb! Wow... I wish I could write nearly as good as this. Well anyway, this is one of the very few stories I read that actually keeps all the characters in-character. And if you're having a hard time with it, that's scary because you seem like a pro. And you write like one, too. Hehe. Argh.. this is killing me to wait for the 16th chapter, but ah well.. you're such a good writer that I could read this over and over an over and over and OVER again! Ahh. Beautiful. I think it's better that way. And easier for me because I can just refer to the books when I'm unsure of how to write a particular dialogue of action by them. Haha...A pro?
