My name's Crystal and I hail from Indianapolis, IN. I've been on MNFF for a couple of years, attempting to spread my creativity through a few fanfic stories! I've been HP obsessed since I saw the first movie in theaters (sadly, I had not been exposed to the books beforehand). I'm a big fan of fantasy-type stories (His Dark Materials, Narnia, HP, Stardust, Eragon, etc), and I often wish I could wave a wand, say a word, and magic would happen. I'm married, 23 years old, a flight instructor for small single-engine aircraft, and a part-time manager at a movie theater.

Favorite HP Book: I've been leaning towards Prisoner of Azkaban, but I think Deathly Hallows has finally won out as my favorite. I LOVE PoA for the story of the Marauders, the way they banded together, created the map, became Animagi to support Lupin, but also for the heartbreaking way in which they were torn apart. The particular part in the story where Harry watches his Patronus gallop and realizes why it has taken the form of a stag, then whispers 'Prongs' still gives me goosebumps. Deathly Hallows was the perfect wrap up for the series. There was so much character development and such an intricate plot, it's amazing to think it all started with such a simple story like Sorcerer's Stone. A few chapters in particular that I love reading over and over are The Silver Doe, The Prince's Tale, and The Forest Again. Such a great series, with all props of course going to the amazing JK Rowling.

Favorite HP Movie: I have the say, the latest Half-Blood Prince really stands out in my mind. The cinematography is beautifully done, it's very entertaining, and the majority of the story is actually there. There were a few parts that failed miserably (the ending, the missing battle, and Harry and Ginny's relationship post-kiss), but it covered the jist, and I loved it! Kudos to Tom Felton, he really stepped up his game for this one, now that he was actually given some lines!

Favorite HP Ships: I'm a big fan of canon ships. The story has to be really believable and the players have to stay for the most part in character for me to stray. One exception of course is the Draco/Ginny pairing. You can write the story of the innocent red-head and the Slytherin prince a hundred different ways, and it usually promises a good read. As long as no one is OOC and their change is believable. I hate Ron or Hermione with anyone except Ron or Hermione. Get those D/Hr and H/Hr stories out of here. OK, I have one more exception. One of my absolute favorite fics is a Hermione/Riddle time-travel fic, which sounds so outrageous, but well worth the read. It's under my list of favorites if you're curious.

I was hooked on this story from the beginning, there's so much feeling and emotion, I can't stop reading! I'm so sad that that's all there is, any idea when the next chapter will be up?

Forever on the Closed Ward by Aelan Greenleaf

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: "I'm Harry. Harry Potter," the man smiled as he reached out a welcoming hand, "and who are you?" "Brian. Brian Harrison," the boy lied. He could feel the sadness rise in him as they shook hands, as if meeting for the first time.

Beautifully written, I love how certain details were left to the imagination, that you didn't take away from the tragedy by explaining what happened . The simpleness is what makes it so good.

Shades of Grey by mgle_teacher

Summary: Draco's redemption after sixth year takes a lifetime to come full circle.

I love it! There's a certain justice to the way Draco's story develops, but a terrible sadness all the same. I was happy that he was able to find himself again and to throw his soul into loving his son, and that he was able to raise Scorpius to be everything that he wasn't. A beautiful ending for a very broken beginning.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review! I'm glad you enjoyed reading it!

"I Want To Go Home." by coolh5000

Summary: “But I want to go home,” whispered the girl. “I don’t want to fight anymore”
DH p558

Not everyone who fought in the Battle of Hogwarts wanted to be there, and not everyone survived. This is the story of one of those people.

I felt I was really there, running with Charlotte, hoping that she got away. I love the different perspective of what was happening during that battle. She didn't know anything about it, but she died for their war. The writing flowed well and was very descriptive, the last moments of a poor little girl. She seemed as if she had the makings of a true Gryffindor, wishing she was brave enough to fight, if only she had been allowed to grow up. A cruel end for her, but very beautiful.

Author's Response: Thanks for the reivew. I really appreciate your comments and I'm glad you enjoyed it, in spite of the sad ending.
