Right now I'm especially bored and procrastinating, so I'm writing an extremely long, pointless bio. Sound like fun?

I almost never read Harry Potter--not because I didn't like reading, but more because I was stubborn and nonsensical as a 9-year-old. But one day my dad snuck the Sorcerer's Stone into my room, and for some reason I picked it up. I read it straight through in twelve hours, and have been obsessed with the series ever since.

About two years ago I started writing fanfiction, and I'm incredibly self-conscious about my work, so I love the anonymity of the Internet. I write a lot of Marauder's Era, but I like most categories. I recklessly misuse and overexploit commas and semicolons. Also, I am very bothered by how many sentences I have just started with "I." But oh well.

I live in Wisconsin and I'm just about the most awkward person ever. I like snow and cake and thunderstorms, hate the number 34 (and also those trees that bloom mid-June and smell terrible), and am known for all sorts of graceful feats such as tripping and breaking my arm. I recycle obsessively, type loudly and like cooking. I'm also one of those crazy people who runs because it's fun.

I love music to a ridiculous degree. I play viola (NOT violin) and I listen to a very strange mixture of classical (mainly late-romantic-period works), heavy metal, and broadway. I try to sing but most people wish I wouldn't.

I ship: James/Lily, Sirius/Remus, Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, and most canons.

The Deal:
I always have way more ideas than time or work ethic (hence my work is mainly one-shots), but right now I've got something very epic brewing and I'd really like it to actually exist. In the meantime, feel free to check out my LiveJournal if you really want to read pointless rants and mediocre drabbles.

Great story so far. You built up the tension quite nicely. I really like the way you portrayed Sirius and Regulus; I feel like most authors (me included) really just skim over their relationship. It's good to see Regulus given a little more thought.
I wonder, is Sirius's picture the same one that Harry sees in Deathly Hallows?

Living in Twilight by solemnlyswear_x

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: After battling the Death Eaters in the Department of Mysteries, Harry isn't the only one who struggles with the aftermath. Neville, too, has difficulties with what's happened, and finds himself talking to Luna for support. Set at the end of OotP.

First of all, I really like the concept of this fic--everything the characters think and feel seems very natural and real. Your characterization of Luna is the best I've read in a long time. A lot of people tend to make her too...well, normal, but you've captured her spaciness while keeping her point of view believable. You've portrayed Neville well, too; I can definitely see how he could change into who he is in DH.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! :)

Ooh, that's kind of creepy. And totally canon, too. Nice job taking a minor character and making him realistic, even sympathetic. It's a pity we don't see more of Quirrel. Kudos!

Author's Response: Thank you! It was an interesting challenge to make Quirrell weak rather than inherently evil and it took a lot of rewrites to hit what was hopefully the right note! Thanks a lot!

This was a very nice, fuzzy, concise little story. I loved the ending twist, and the little throwaway allusions--especially Shakespeare. The premise rings true for anyone who has had writer's block, even lowly young fanfiction writers.

Author's Response: Thanks for the lovely review!

That was one of the reasons I wrote this story-- almost everyone on this website has had the Block, and I felt that we could all identify with young Thomas. Thanks again for the review!

I am in complete awe. Lately I've been into drabble pieces, and this is a perfect example of the genre at its finest. Your writing style is amazing--descriptive, colorful, detailed, and it just...runs like thoughts, especially with all the repetition and italics. I particularly like the scene with Ron: first of all, so few people write canon Trio anymore, but also you portrayed him so sympathetically at a point where most readers probably hate him. Overall...just wow.

Author's Response: I am in complete awe of your review. Thank you so much for the flattering comments, Ravencorgi. You've left me speechless :)

Hold You For A Million Years by BirdG

Summary: Sometimes words aren't necessary. Five silent moments between Frank and Alice Longbottom.

Yay! This story contains three of my favorite elements of fanfiction: short connected drabbles, minor characters, the first war, and great writing and characterization. I guess that's actually four, maybe five. But that's how wonderful your story is. I love your writing style--it's direct but still show-not-tell--and especially so in the last section. I also love the way Frank and Alice are still affectionate, even if they can't really convey it, so it's not a complete tragedy. Overall: wow.
