Wow, quite the little sphere Cadmus had, eh? And he sold it to Borgin? Why didn't he just use it on him and make Borgin hide it for him? I'd like to know your reasons, behind his logic, because besides being peculiar, I'm surprised Borgin would have even taken it!

I'm particularly perturbed by the power of the object. To make somebody permanently obedient. Vicious, and dark to the extreme. I wonder, idly, what would ever happen if the Dark Lord had found that little sphere, or why Malfoy never bought it in Borgin & Burkes when he had the chance...

Still, fast-paced and a great story! Bravo.

Destruction Where You Stand by auberus

Rated: Professors •
Summary:
31 October 1981. Instead of going to Azkaban, Sirius Black goes on the run, determined to catch the traitorous Peter Pettigrew even as post-war violence tears through the wizarding world. Meanwhile, Remus Lupin and a handful of others work desparately to clear Sirius' name, and to find him.

After all, they are not the only ones seeking Sirius Black. The Ministry of Magic has set the Dementors on his trail, and they have been given permission to administer the Kiss the instant he is caught. The remnants of the Death Eaters are pursuing him as well, in hopes that he will lead them to Pettigrew, whom they blame for Voldemort's defeat. (SB/RL slash)

A well written chapter, and the use of Dark Magic is interesting and rather peculiar. Personally, I never thought Sirus would resort to such means, but the fact that he does reveals his desperation - and anger. The ingredients used actually make sense, in regards to the ritual and what Sirius wants to do, even though he is trespassing into an area where he really shouldn't be (as Phineas smugly points out). Well done and keep it up!

I know this is my second review for this chapter, but I cannot help marvel at how well the potion sequence has been done. The fact that the spell is cast into the potion and is activated by the mixing is fascinating, and I wish that I could see more of it. But in truth, I am slightly confused how the whole things actually works - so the potion became the ink he needed to write the spell? A very interesting use - especially when one throws Dark Magic into the mix...

Wow. This chapter was terrifying, and I am shocked what those vampires did to Hagrid. It proved absolutely shocking, and the fact that Hermione nearly becomes a vampire herself really brings a shocking light to the story. Great work, although I would have preferred that Hagrid had not gotten involved (he's not one of my favourite characters). Hermione's descent into darkness and her fight to stop it is really quite touching, though.

An Evil Lord by crazy_purple_hp_freak

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

Wow. I did not expect that coming. Ollivander, a servant of the Dark Lord? I had never considered it, but, when you think about it for a half a second, it makes sense. I had always thought that Ollivander had some fascination with the Dark Arts with his highly creepy nature in the books. Something never seemed quite... sane about it, and I don't think the Dark Lord would have had much trouble bringing him over. Show him marvels of magic, and he would be yours.

I also found the actual method of the Horcrux creation to be rather fascinating. Ingenious, really, to make a wand one, although I would presume that the Dark Lord would want his own wand to be a Horcrux - that way, it would be with him at all times and it would protect itself - and its master. I would have to wonder whether placing a Horcrux inside a wand makes the connection with the owner different, though. I wonder what Harry would have done if he had figured out his wand was indeed a Horcrux... that would be a tough decision indeed...

All in all, excellent job!

Dumbledore's Worst Nightmare by Colores

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: What did Dumbledore see when he drank the potion in the cave? How would he have known that his strengths of love and compassion could be manipulated into his curses by the Dark Lord...?

This is for the March one-shot challenge. I am Colores of the Hufflepuff House.

Whoa... I mean, if I hadn't read Deathly Hallows, that would be what I had expected Dumbledore to see. And to think that a potion could do that to him? Whoever brewed that must have had a load of magic instilled inside it or a very sadistic personality - or both. To instill that sort of insanity would have required prodigious skill in potionmaking, not to mention strong enough ingredients, potent enough to affect the mind. Still, excellent job!

I must say, out of the many fics I've read that have Fred returning (and there are quite a few of them), this is perhaps one of the most comprehensive and well-written ones that I've seen. Fine work, I'm impressed. I've got four guesses who are going to be the targets of Fred's last visit: Kingsley (if only because he could probably use the advice Fred could give him), Fleur (hell, Fred did admit to taking a pass at her, and that interaction could be entertaining), Draco (if only for Fred to rip into that little smarmy bastard - although I could see Draco feeling a bit of guilt for Fred's death, given their proximity), or Teddy (in a nineteen years later sort of way). I'm looking forward to the next chapter - fine work!
