Hi. I'm Mere. I disappear and reappear every now and then, but it mostly all comes down to the fact that I do love to write and I do love Harry Potter.

My OTP is James/Lily, but I have a tendency to ship them with other characters. Lily Evans is my favourite character and I absolutely adore writing her.

Haunting Shame by MerrryD

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Death.

It was so cold and isolating. It broke even the strongest of people, made them feel terrible and helpless, like they were drowning with no hope of being saved. Percy was not a strong person. He was already broken. When Fred died right in front of his eyes, he became completely unhinged. He forgot the most important thing about surviving.

Life.

From Green to Brown by MerrryD

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Winter to spring, spring to summer, summer to fall, fall to winter.

Seasons change.

Best friends to barely talking, full of life to constant fear of death, "good" to "bad".

So do people.

This is MerryD of Hufflepuff writing for the 2011 Aprils Fools' Day Challenge in the Great Hall, Prompt #3--Marauder Era.

Shattered by MerrryD

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: I knew I shouldn't like him. I knew nothing could come of it. I mean, I am Lily Evans's best friend. But, damn, when he smiles, the butterflies in stomach go crazy.

A Touch Too Much by MerrryD

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:
Hate. Anger. Happiness. Rage. Love. Contentment. Understanding. Emptiness. Loneliness. Jealousy. Despair. Numb. Cheerful.

Every day Lily Evans felt everything. She was on an emotional roller coaster full of heart-plummeting drops, stomach-losing loops, and nerve-racking climbs. How she managed to keep herself together she never quite understood.

One day, it all becomes too much and everything comes undone.

Hold Out Your Hand by MerrryD

Rated: Professors •
Summary:
He’s James.
He’s your best friend.
And you have nowhere else to go.

The Breaking Point by MerrryD

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
No one ever said that war was easy. And it’s not.

Especially not for Lily Evans, who’s become Hogwarts’ go-to girl for comfort. She’s never troubled or upset. She always knows all the things to say, when to hug, and when to just let the tears go. But, sometimes, the allusion of being in control is just too much.

And, apparently, she’s not the only one.

Lily/Regulus

Everything Happens for a Reason by MerrryD

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes

Every student plans on making their final year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry the most memorable one ever. Eight in particular want to make those minutes really count. Except, they each have a different idea of how to go about doing it.

James Potter would like to waltz into Lily Evans’s life and throw it completely off course. Julie McGuire didn’t exactly plan on rescuing Remus Lupin, but now that she has, why not just go with it? Marlene McKinnon should have know what she got herself into when she kissed Sirius Black the first time, but that boy has a way of knocking her senseless. Emmeline Vance had planned to just sit back and watch it all happen, until Roxanna Louchester, her ex-friend, barged in and turned everything upside down.

Suddenly they’ve gone from only wanting the most memorable year, to achieving it. It’s a year of love and lust. It’s a year of tears and fights. It’s a year of finding yourself. It’s a year of learning to lose. It’s a year that none of them are likely to forget.

How do you measure a year in the life?

Drowning in Darkness by MerrryD

Rated: Professors •
Summary:

Narcissa Black was fine.

She was doing well in school, her sister was getting married, and she had a boyfriend.

Oh, yes, she had a boyfriend. Dark, tall, enchanting Rabastan Lestrange. He was every Slytherin girl’s fantasy. Narcissa had been dreaming about him for years. And now he was all hers.

But Lucius Malfoy was worried about her.

Before Saying Goodbye by MerrryD

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

People do not die for us immediately, but remain bathed in a sort of aura of life which bears no relation to true immortality but through which they continue to occupy our thoughts in the same way as when they were alive. – Marcel Proust

Sirius Black stumbles onto a most curious scene while checking up on one of his closest friends, the wife of his best mate. Lost and confused he follows the signs until they reach into a depth unknown to him. From this point, he seeks the help of another dear friend, and together they think, suffer, and laugh their way to some answers and some dead ends. Only in the end, do they find the answer to the one question that burns in their minds: how will we go on?

I am MerryD of Hufflepuff and this was written for the Gauntlet Round Seven

As the Dawn Breaks by MerrryD

Rated: Professors •
Summary:

Love.

Love is healing. Love makes the world go ‘round. Love is all you need.

Yeah, okay.

Whoever said that, obviously forgot about the part where it could destroy you, leave you empty and worthless, numb to everything, except the suffocating pain of knowing you aren’t good enough.

Hate.

Hate is strong word. Hate destroys us. Hate is an ugly thing.

Says who?

Sometimes, it’s our hate that drives us. It fuels us, pushing us through the past, forcing us to accept what we have. It gives us a reason to move. It motivates us into action.

Sometimes, hate is all we have.

Lily/Sirius

A Cataclysmic Reaction by MerrryD

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Eyes meet.

Silence.

Heat.

Time stops.

Two hearts beat.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

Do you believe in soul mates?

Do you believe in forever?

Do you believe that life isn’t worth living without him?

Do you believe that you can't go on without her?

Rose/Scoprius

Your Son by MerrryD

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

It wasn’t that he didn’t love Astoria – he did.

He just wasn’t sure he could love a child.

Draco Malfoy was never one for fathering. Little kids disgusted him; babies horrified him. And yet, Astoria is pregnant. As it comes down to the final hours, he is torn between his love for his wife and his contempt for a small blonde one. Is Draco a man of his head or his heart?

For Joanna.

Heartbeats by MerrryD

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

They are insane.

They are both in St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. I believe Neville visits them, with his grandmother, during the holidays.

They do not recognise him.

Frank and Alice Longbottom suffered a terrible fate. It is not one to wish on even your worst enemy. Maybe their fate was written in the stars, and maybe it wasn’t. But, before it happened, pre-set or not, they had a life. They shared a story together. You know how it ends. Do you know how it goes?

Poor devils. Better dead than what happened to them.

Empty Words by MerrryD

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

“What we have is something special.”

“I thought so too until you cheated on me.”

They were the golden couple. They did everything together. They were totally in love, everyone could see it. But life is turned around when another girl comes into the equation. Nothing will ever be the same again.

Blood, Tears, and a Diamond by MerrryD

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

She felt it.

It was something real.

It was pain.

Charity Burbage never considered herself a strong or brave person. That is until she met Jack. Jack gave her fire and soul. He encouraged her to stand up for what she believed in. But when a tragedy strikes, Charity’s world is turned upside down. Should she take the easy way out or continue to fight for what’s right?

I am MerryD, proud Hufflepuff.
